I've never seen an audience more involved in a movie before. You know you've done something brilliant, or horribly wrong when someones death is meant to be a dramatic moment and people can't help but laugh at it. Wow. This exceeded my expectiations by about a million times, I expected a really brutal movie. Instead I got a movie that was funny and cool. Everybody in the theater was cheering when someone died in a cool way or for a matter of fact, at Wow. This exceeded my expectiations by about a million times, I expected a really brutal movie. Yes, this is what's wrong with American filmmaking and it's hilarious. It KNOWS what's wrong with filmmaking and certainly uses it to its advantage. If you're taking this movie seriously, of course you'll hate it. If you're taking it as a spoof (which it certainly is) you'll die laughing. After all: a movie cannot be serious if Kenan Thompson saves the day. That's the funniest comedic ending of all time. There's nothing like this and never will be again!… Expand

This movie was totally fun. All the fun Dead Man's Chest was missing. Jackson is cool as hell, though his big line should have been delivered more grimly/sternly rather than yelling it. Probably a blast with an awesome audience, but a bore with an empty audience. And we were drunk off our ass so that's saying something. NY and LA enjoy it while you can, everywhere else good luck finding a fun, interactive audience.

I'm going to gaurantee you right now that you will have fun and come out of the theater with a smile on your face. Me and my friends couldn't stop talking about it all night after we watched it, and even now we still make references to it. In fact, we might go see it again. It's that fun. A masterpiece? Of course not. A cult classic? Definitely, and sometimes that's even better.… Expand

A movie best enjoyed in a packed theatre full of rabid SoaP fans. Wow, great moments in the movie. Lines that got people out of their seats. Everybody goes nuts for that one line. You know the one.

People seem to be talking past each other in some of the reviews...I think if you expect a good movie, you're really missing the point. But that's my problem w/ the movie, is that it seems to know it's a joke, but it doesn't really care. Even though I wouldn't rate it as harshly, I think Rolling Stone review of that "it's not so bad that it's good. It's so bland that it's boring." hits the nail on the head, because the movie is extremely medicore in all respects. It's not really bad enough to be hilarious, and it's not really good enough to thrill. A lot of potential comedy never seems to unfold. There are lots of really stereotypic characters which I thought would lead obvious, but great comedy, but most of them never end up doing anything. I guess a great audience could make this movie a lot more fun, but that's true w/ every film. There have already been other big budget stinkers which I've found much more entertaining to watch like last years Alone in the Dark, or maybe the grandaddy of all great terrible movies, Rollerball. This is just a medicore action movie w/ some half assed attempts at comedy.… Expand

Ive seen worse movies but this one did not impress me. The begininng bike scene is more exciting than most of the snakes...we get it already snakes on a plane. but when your 20,000 ft in the air , there is only so far you can go with the Ive seen worse movies but this one did not impress me. Easily the second best movie I've seen all summer, its comes in at a close second to Talladega Nights. This movie is funny, gruesome, and it has snakes on a mutha@#%*ing plane.

A classic in the making, seeing the very first showing nationwide of Snakes on a Plane at 10 pm last night was one of the most memborable and enjoyable experiences I have ever had in a movie theater. From the moment I entered the premises, I could tell I was in for a wild ride. Everyone was incessantly shouting the title, and making bad puns on it relating to whatever ads were being shown on screen before the film. Case in point: Three Moons Over Milford provoked the response, "Snakes on the Moon!!!" From the moment the *SPOILER THAT IF YOU COULDN'T FIGURE OUT YOU HAD NO BUSINESS SEEING THIS MOVIE* snakes are released on the plane until the end of the film, there was hardly a moment when I was not completely entertained. A glorious sendup of B-Movie Horror conventions and a flawless cast make this...well...they all come together to make a movie experience that could be called nothing other than "Snakes on a Plane."… Expand

Don't pay attention to all the hype and the snake-plane-movie-haters; just listen to Sam. Samuel L. Jackson. Not convinced? Well, you already know from chosen title that the movie is going to have fun with this ridiculous premise. After the movie, I had a hard time thinking of ways one can die to a snake that wasn't covered in the film. Sure, the special effects were a little fake-looking and cheesy at times, but who cares. There were memorable characters, funny one-liners and situations, and some genuine scares that make you jump. The story moved along at a nice pace. And damn it, it has Sam Jackson, anchoring the film with his strong screen presence and unique mix of suavity, seriousness, and anger. Good career move, Sam. If you have a good sense of humor (regarding both the film's content and SoaP crowd), then you will love Snakes on a Plane. Seriously. Trust me. Trust Sam. I can't wait for the DVD.… Expand

This is entertainment. It's not the greatest movie ever, not by long shot! This is probably one of the best horrible movies I've ever seen. I highly recommend spending the money to see this one just because it demands audience participation in the form of cruel comments like, "Aw Shit, when this is all over, let's go get a Good Burger!" It's full of tasteful one-liners like, "My Praise to the Playstation! Hallelujah!" In short, there's Snakes on a Plane and it stars Sam Jackson performing in the role of a "bad-ass". There's the fat kid from Good Burger (Keenan Thompson), sex, mild drug use (weed) and a host of other things that anyone with a sense of humor and a broad knowledge of current U.S. pop-culture will enjoy. Suspense, hilarity, gore, nudity, & cheesiness. It plays its part perfectly for a exciting evening romp at the theatre. You cant ask for much more. The movies don't get much better than this.

If you go into this movie expecting an exhilarating action thriller, you will be severely disapointed. The film is fairly enjoyable up untill the last 20 minutes where it gets unbleivalbly corny (a guy who plays Playstation lands the plane, and people start swapping phone numbers after they land like nothing had happened....obviously these scenes were meant to be funny but they just plain sucked). It's hard to tell what this movie was trying to achieve and it feels like they were changing their position on the film on the basis of what all the fans wanted. The result is a mish mash of comedy, seriousness and crappy horror elements. By the way, anyone who thought this movie was scary are watching some pretty lame films. The CGI snakes look just that...CGI. And because there CGI, they aren't scary in the least bit. Do yourself a favour, if your going to see this film dont go in beliveing all of that internet hype bullshit. Make up your own mind. In my opinion this film could have been way better if they decided to go in one direction, comedy or horror. Instead it seems like they didnt no what the hell they were going for and the result is something neither purely enjoyable nor insanely terrible....just bland.… Expand

The movie failed to be suspenseful, scary, dramatic and if the point was to make the situation funny, it failed miserably at that as well. Snakes on a Plane is an insulting film on nearly every level that got worst as each minute passed by.

The only good scene was when the guy and the girl, go into the toilets to have a little bit of fun, honestly the t*ts were the best part of the film but it was abruptly ended and ruined by a ferocious snake biting on her breasts. There's only so much of snakes on a plane that you can see before you decide to leave the theatre. The only reason I was kept in my seats was because of Samuel L. Jackson, he was the only part of the film that deserve positive acclaim. This movie will forever be remembered as the most pointless movie ever created.… Expand

Everything else eh not really. Acting was pretty believable. Story wise I guess if you want something simple then this is good. Hell I want to give it a 6 but for some reason I feel it deserves a 7. Now, this film is by no wear means the best of its kind. I mean I never jump at any horror film because well about 80% of them are completely predictable, but I did jump a few times when them snakes jumped out. This film is probably more dark comedy/black comedy (a.k.a. Horror Comedy) if frightended easily you will be scared but you will also find funny moments along with a couple of sad I saw watch it.… Expand

Bis auf DIE Szene mit SLJ und ein paar lustige CGI-Schlangen-Kills ein recht belangloser und auch langweiliger Film (Siehe Deep Blue Sea). Wäre auch gern mit Taylor Kitsch im Mile High Club.

I just watched a whole bunch of computer-generated snakes terrorise a flight. It was a wild flight. There isn't too much excitement as you are stuck on this small airplane for the majority of the movie.
