Here, the effects are purposely on the cheap (they will make you giggle) and the acting is deliberately over the top. Once you accept these quirks, there's some blood-spattered pleasure to be had with Slaxx and its amusing twist on a survive-the-night slasher. Read full review

This film is so ridiculous it becomes awesome. A fine product of Canadian cinema. If you love fashion, bollywood music, and child labour, as well as gruesome killing, check it out.

After killer tires and couches and other murderous inanimate objects, why not killer designer jeans? Which in itself is a verbal joke. As the poster says " an ass to die for". Though on a very limited budget and kept to one location, Slaxx is clever in it's details of a Gap like store. The multicultural posters with "Tomorrow is Today" and buzz words appropriated to sales messaging like "be/long" is spot on. The SS logo on the pants is a not so subtle allusion to Nazi Germany, and the idea that an industry may brag about being globally conscious but really doesn't care about international working conditions is clear. It's fast and fun and you could do a lot worse scrolling through Shudder.… Expand
