It's so good, it's in my top 3 favorite movies of all time! Lots of humor, plenty of action and great dialogue!!! Defi rewatch forever!!!!

This is a quite atmospheric, intriguing period drama thriller film, with some nice settings and costumes. I thought John Cusack did quite well as the 'gumshoe on the scene', as it were - he provides narration/voice-over at times, which I thought was quite good as it sounded very much likeThis is a quite atmospheric, intriguing period drama thriller film, with some nice settings and costumes. The colours appear somewhat muted at times. I liked the incidental music in the background, it added to the tension felt in key scenes. It's also fairly engrossing, I thought. As a foreign set period drama, this is a good film - one I'd recommend.… Expand

A story line we've seen before, someone suspects an attack on the US before December 7. This time the venue is Shanghai. We get a tutorial of life in Shanghai at that time, informative. We see a beautiful girl, of course, we see many international stars. So, what's wrong? Was it theA story line we've seen before, someone suspects an attack on the US before December 7. This time the venue is Shanghai. We get a tutorial of life in Shanghai at that time, informative. We see a beautiful girl, of course, we see many international stars. So, what's wrong? Was it the movie lot sets? Guess they couldn't find anywhere that looked like Shanghai in 1941. Was it the director? They start the movie talking about the Japanese security guy Ta-na-ka, then halfway through the movie everyone calls him Tan-a-ka. Didn't anyone notice?… Expand
