It brilliantly showcases the rivalry between Niki Lauda (one of the all-time greats) and James Hunt (someone who had the pace, but never fully used his talent) in a dramatic but true way. The two leading men do outstanding jobs as these unique personalities and, especially Brühl, become the racer themselves. Other than these, the score is absolutely fantastic, the racing is very well portrayed and it shows the viewer what Formula 1 really is. Even though it might have had a few minor flaws, this was a perfect representation of a spectacular and dramatic story. Expand

Rush is the best F1 film ever made and tells the story of James Hunt and Niki Lauda's intense rivalry. Some moments are overdramatized, but what do you expect? The rivalry has to be played up to get the viewers more invested.

Not to mention some familiar and maudlin moments. Putting everything aside, I've never thought I would care about "car racing" or "the Formula One champion" before seeing this sleek, dazzling, adrenaline-fuled sports film that also happens to offer one of the most interesting character studies I've ever witnessed while exploring a rivalry like no other film these days.

Full-blooded on and off the track, this pedal-to-the-metal biopic is a nerve-rattling, intimate look at two sporting titans - with two career-best turns at its roaring centre.

It works really well and the viewer can choose their side and who to root for. That way, the rivalry can then be transferred to the viewer and the viewer can get really into the story. The film, at least in my opinion, was quite unpredictable. James and Niki are constantly getting ahead of each other. One wins and one wins. It's very hard to tell who's actually going to win. Hats off to you for the unpredictability. What I also have to praise is the cinematography and the overall shots of the tracks. There's racing more or less all the time. The film doesn't stop too much and when it did, I didn't mind because I found the scenes outside the race interesting and just good. Mostly, though, there is racing and the pace is really fast. Really a treat to watch the fast driving and it was enhanced by the awesome Hans Zimmer music. The whole thing is brought up a notch by the fact that the two racers actually existed and their rivalry was real and we got the chance to see it in the film, which I found breathtaking in places. For me, an amazing film that I recommend. Expand
