In "Ralph Breaks the Internet," video-game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and best friend Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) leave the comforts of Litwak's arcade in an attempt to save her game, Sugar Rush. Their quest takes them to the vast, uncharted world of the internet where they rely on the citizens of the internet--the Netizens--to help navigate their way. Lending a virtual hand are Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site "BuzzzTube," and Shank (voice of Gal Gadot), a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race, a place Vanellope wholeheartedly embraces--so much so that Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he's ever had.

I loved Wreck-It Ralph, and I loved how simple its deepness went, it was so simple for kids to understand and to get its point, and so effective for adults as well. I'm gonna make a Wreck-It Ralph very soon, so I can get deep through all of that. So let's leave Wreck-It Ralph for its review and let's get to Ralph Breaks the Internet, shall we?

Ralph Breaks the Internet is honoring its source material, but deeper and funnier than the first one, with lots of Easter Eggs, even more than Ready Player One! It's still not that confusing deep for kids, it's about friends and how we must just let them go forward with their life, I'll stop here for not spoiling anything. Anyways its message is so clear, obvious and easy to get, and it's so important for everyone's life: kids, teenagers and adults. This movie's so valuable for everyone, liked it or not, you gonna see it's point and it will touch deep into your heart.

I enjoyed Ralph Breaks the Internet as must as I did with Wreck-It Ralph, beside how deep it was, there wasn't any hidden stuff for adults, it was so obvious, Shank (voiced by Gal Gadot) was just saying the point and the message of this movie so out loud so kids won't be confused, but it's not like Zootopia which had lots of hidden messages beside it's main obvious one.

Also sometimes it was so fast, but still it explained enough. Anyways, don't go exacting a twist like the first time, because this one is so direct.

There's another message about how negatively can the internet goes, and how you hurt everyone's feelings by your idiotic and rude responses. It's so valuable as well, but it's more effective for adults.

The characters are so good, the voices are amazing, especially John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Gal Gadot, they were amazing! The story is very good, fast and valuable, but my only issue with it, is that I wanted a twist to surprise me, but I didn't find one, for that I'm gonna give Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 an A.

As a mentor to a 13-year-old boy who I took to this movie, I found it cringe-worthy and peppered with misandry. Completely unrealistic.

First you can NOT go inside the internet through an arcade’s WiFi router. This is IMPOSSIBLE and I’m really disappointed Disney would MISLEAD viewers making them think you can travel to another world through ethernetCompletely unrealistic.

Second, its obvious CGI was used to make the Disney princesses look un-aged (Ariel would be almost 50 now).

Third, the way the movie portrays the dark web is NOTHING like what I’ve enjoyed every night there.

Fourth, cat/babies aside, the internet was made for porn and there was NO PORN AT ALL. I REPEAT NO PORN.

Sixth, there are a number of scenes where Ralph jumps 5+ stories high, the average human can only jump 1-2 feet!

In conclusion, 99% of the scenes simply cannot happen in real life. If you’re looking for something realistic, I’d recommend Finding Nemo or Venom (both based of true stories too, and filmed in North Dakota).

I absolutely hated it. But other than that, I loved it! As a man in her 30’s, I identified with the 6 year old main character pretty closely.… Expand

For me the 2nd movie was waay better than the 1st one. It was more entertaining, fun and with much more easter eggs. In the 1st one the video games easter eggs, well known characters and the thing we were all waiting for were in the firstFor me the 2nd movie was waay better than the 1st one. It was more entertaining, fun and with much more easter eggs. In the 1st one the video games easter eggs, well known characters and the thing we were all waiting for were in the first half of the movie and then they just moved to their own story which for me wa very disappointing because I wanted to see for ex. Sonic again. But this time our fantastic 2nd movie gave us easter eggs and characters we were waiting for the whole duration of the movie. We could see the internet all the time, the websites, the characters, we could see how it all "actually works" and much more. So the first one showed us games for the 40 minutes, and in the second one we were able to see the internet all the time.
In addicion for me the second movie was much more funnier, the jokes were better, the whole story was better and it was very suprising that the main plot ended like after an hour and then they continued with another plot! That was really amazing! To sum up, Ralph breaks the internet is one of the best animations i saw and it is way better than the first one, I totally recommend it!!… Expand

It's shocking how an animated movie can teach kids so many lessons along its storyline. Disney isn't afraid to ridicule themselves which I love by the way! Remember: The kitty gets the milkshake, the bunny gets the pancake.

This movie was okay. There was a lot that I liked about it, but there were also a lot of serious problems I had with it. I really liked Wreck-It Ralph back when I saw it. Ever since then I had been waiting for a sequel. Somehow I had a hunch that one will be made. And here it was: Ralph Breaks the Internet. I was expecting it to be something about gaming againI really liked Wreck-It Ralph back when I saw it. Ever since then I had been waiting for a sequel. Somehow I had a hunch that one will be made. And here it was: Ralph Breaks the Internet. I was expecting it to be something about gaming again but since it was more inclined towards the internet instead of gaming and also seemed to be more targeted towards children than the OG fans, I decided to skip it. Then 2 years ago I suddenly decided to watch it and now I really like it. Of course it's not as good as the original, but that could be said about any Disney movie.

Ralph Breaks the Internet is set after the events of Wreck-It Ralph, except that Felix is divorced and Ralph continues to hang around with everyone else outside the games, until the point where he pulls a complete Disney character and ends up breaking Sugar Rush arcade's steering wheel. Now Ralph and Vanellope are out to get the steering wheel from eBay to stop the arcade game from being thrown out. It's what The Emoji Movie could have been like if it wasn't bad.

Disney movies always have good animations, those which can make anyone go nostalgic. And here there are several Disney characters shown on the internet in 3D like the Disney princesses (they gave my little one a rush; if you know what I mean XD), MCU characters, Star Wars etc. So in case you wanted to know what they'd look like as 3D animated characters, this is the best place you can see them. The sense of humour was also very good. Character development, however, is the bad part. It was only driven by "Ralph didn't want to lose Vanellope". The story isn't that good either; it's plagued with product placement. Plus there are many popular game characters like Sonic (yay!), Eggman, Bowser, Pac-Man ghosts etc.

I'd have been happier if the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph was about gaming more instead of the internet, since that's the community among whom the prequel liked. It's a good movie, just not a good sequel. Let's hope the third movie gets back to the roots, since this looked more like a PSA for kids on how to use the internet.… Expand

While the first one was an ode to videogames and arcades this one just steals the universe, steals the idea of the emoji movie and mashes them together. The initial plot is dropped half way through the movie, a villain is introduced and taken care off with an ammount of frames you can count by yourself. Sprinkle it with all the current woman empowerment propaganda and you have this movie. Phrases like "Videogames make you dumb" are loosely tossed around, a fact no studies could ever prove, in fact many prove the opposite. Ralph the "big strong man" is portrayed as dumb and needing to be rescued. Vanellopes blatant betrayal is simply swept over because the rightfully heartshattered Ralph does something desperate and now we can blame all on Ralph. You can safely skip this one.… Expand

The premise is of the franchise is that when the doors close in an Arcade the videogame characters call it a day and leave for their personal life (Like actors in a movie shooting). It is set a few years after the first movie. All the characters have accustomed to their life's when a huge change happens. The Arcade is connected to the internet. Meanwhile Ralph recognizes that Vanellope is bored by her game and tries to create something special for her. It goes horrible wrong and the two have to go on an adventures journey to save the day. Sorry I am a bit vague to avoid spoilers. It has the strengths of the original with immersive characters, a great story, tons of easter eggs and the humor works well. In total I say it is a bit weaker and less refreshing. Here they roast the internet, tech companies, cliches and more while developing the characters. The characters are again so enjoyable. Be it the older ones with Ralph, Vanellope, Felix or Calhoun or the new ones with Shanks or the princesses. I praise the whole cast of voice actors. Of cause there are tons of easter eggs, cameos, jokes and tropes. The humor works great and entertained us really well. Presentation wise the movie is awesome. I like the style, art and soundtrack. My only complain is that the start of the movie is a bit weaker but later on the movie won me over. Overall this is one of the rare great sequels. Not perfect or better than the first movie but really good and sometimes rivals the prequel. I give a 9/10 as a lower rating seems unfair.… Expand

If I'm not mistaken Ralph Breaks the Internet is the first sequel in Disney's list of 57 feature-length animated movies, which makes it a unique change in strategy by the studio. A change that I would call a fail for now.

The animation is high-quality as you would have come to expect by a Walt Disney Animation Studios feature film, but the story is just lacking something. A lot of it seems to have solidified only late during production, raising the question what in the original pitch was that convincing to get it all going. Probably it was just some kind of higher, faster, farther premise that too soon lost track about what was so great about the original.

"We can't understand her. She's from the other studio." This quote from within the movie quite beautifully illustrates what is missing. It is an understanding for the profound heart, which is front and center of the approach of the affiliated studio Pixar.

Furthermore I'm not really able to fully relate to the representation of the Internet, which is probably supposed to show what is currently hip but certainly doesn't capture the way I believe to experience it. This way it at most is depicting a moment not something that is timeless.

The foreign dub additionally has to deal with a change of voice for Ralph, which just can't hold up.

Highlight: The addition of KnowsMore (played by Alan Tudyk), whose design certainly stands out in a positive way.… Expand

Man... talk about an idea that was dead from the start. From the very moment I saw a sequel to Wreck-It Ralph that includes Internet, I already predicted that the movie was gonna suck really hard, and oh boy, I wasn't wrong with that. And is a shame, because the first movie was really awesome and I loved it. But to be fair, making plots based on the internet is always destined to suck, and have cringe-inducing moments, and moments that you think in a refund. This movie has all those points.

The plot? Inexistent, is all over the place, and is gonna be dificult to track what the characters are doing, because there's so much filler in this movie that is sad to think that freaking Pixar made this, the same studio who made The Incredibles and Finding Nemo. The internet jokes and meme references in this movie are painful, really really painful, you want to turn around to not see the screen, you know those PSA who try to be really hip and cool with the boys? Well, that's what Disney does with this movie, and is bad... really really bad. Avoid this movie like the plague.… Expand

This film should be required watching for every schoolchild, if only so that they can have that stomach-churning feeling that comes from watching something you love spoil and rot like a melon on a stoop two weeks past Halloween.

In the lead up to the mistake of seeing this film, I had read some high-minded headlines about Ralph and Toxic Masculinity, but much like the film itself, the review was a bit of a catfish, in that it fails to mention that any semblance of self-awareness is lost in the pondering morass of product placement and too-old internet memes. The Disney princesses are by far the most interesting commentary on the past limitations of storytelling in the Disney franchises and it lasts for approximately two minutes, without much more to add than the trailers. Gal Godot is perfect for her role, serves as a positive female role model for a younger generation and injects into the story a subplot about the power of female relationships and finding your tribe. RBI is one of those comedies, like indie-darling, Eighth Grade, and the more mainstream Blocked, where woke platitudes are omnipresent from the very beginning of the film and the true tension at the heart of the film is the struggle to live up to those new progressive principles when challenged by our darker, less generous selves. Unfortunately, RBI is a sequel, so it’s more concerned with selling merchandise than it is with storytelling.

The best that can be said about RBI is that you can buy a ticket for this movie and sneak into Fantastic Beasts in order to avoid giving money to Johnny Depp.… Expand

We get it, Ralph is insecure, you don't have to keeping every five seconds. This is just a "attempt" to resonate with younger audience and to make a quick buck. Just take a good original movie and just butcher it beyond belief with a sequel that feels uninspired bland, and lacks so much of the emotional charm from the original. Bit late I know, to be honest this movie has been the biggest let down any movie has given me ever. Was so excited and it was garbage for me, I know that Disney has a history for ruining sequels and this is definitely a money grab aimed atBit late I know, to be honest this movie has been the biggest let down any movie has given me ever. Was so excited and it was garbage for me, I know that Disney has a history for ruining sequels and this is definitely a money grab aimed at kids. The first movie had so much heart, an engaging story that anyone can enjoy, it gave me that feeling after watching it that is the reason we all watch movies, it became my favourite movie in an instant, which basically happens with every movie that is great and gets me that feeling after. This movie however crashed and burned, ok hold up how is the score nearly the same as the original, who is reviewing on here damn. The start of the movie is really the only part I think I enjoyed (I guess because its still telling the original story for a bit), after that it becomes a mess, the internet thing was pretty cool and the ralph thing was so cringe and funny (as if its a dad on it who has no idea how to use it). I watched it when it came out and I really forgot most of it when I showed it to my brother, I forgot most of the movie because it was pain. I cant believe I sat through it a second time. Now to actually review it, the story was designed for literal babies, and that fight scene made my laugh so much about how cringe and terrible it was, reminded me of Lenny from 'of mice and men', or goofy. I am really lost for words trying to tell you how bad this is. I don't really want to, this movie bores me so much. All I will say is there's a reason this isn't called wreck it ralph 2, because this movie destroys its legacy if it is called that, because it put everything good about the original in the bin and literally made characters worse as in development, they took them backwards as if they went into it better than out. So it didn't deserve that name because it feels like a pointless side quest that had a really cool boss fight but the boss was forgettable with boring intentions and it feels like you'd rather of just not played it through. The main thing I want to say is to watch the original, not this garbage.… Expand

It's the Disney crossover we didn't want, and it didn't work. It isn't until the last 20 minutes of this film until it finally starts getting good.

Normally I wouldn't grouse about critics giving passes to a movie that I didn't like. There are so many scathing review titles you could write! Examples:

"Ralph Breaks His Character."

"Ralph Breaks the Internet: As Timely As It's Title."

"As The Only Disney Film Named After Kim Kardashian's Tush, Ralph 2 Lives Up To It's Namesake."

"Just A Worthless Sequel On A Pile of Bricks!"
