One of the most boring movies I have ever seen. The characters were all unlikable. Too much talk and not enough action. Awful!

I'm convinced the professional critics are plain nuts. If I had made this movie with a hand held camcorder these same critics would not even watch it. It is simply depressing and awful. You care nothing for the characters and even less I'm convinced the professional critics are plain nuts. Mainstream reviewers have gone from hating indie movies to loving them over the past few years. That's great, but in the quest to get away from cliches, they've gone too far. I love movies usually in any movie even ones i don't like, and espicially one like this rated so high, I can find something to like but this movie is awful and boring. The acting may be good but so what and who carest!! Was this Demme's attempt at Dogma? He should leave it to Von Trier and the other Europeans. If the majority of American families act like this - we truly are at the end of the Empire.

I have never done this before but I think this movie has made me change my ways! This was the WORST movie I ever paid money for! From the first min to the last min of this movie I just wanted someone to just kill me! The dish washer part of I have never done this before but I think this movie has made me change my ways! The dish washer part of the movie come on get real now please I cant believe you would spend that much time in a part of the movie that was so not needed!!! If I could get my $29.00+ and the 2 hours of my life back I would still not be happy for the fact that other people are going to go see this movie....Please send this to back bottom shelf of no mans land so we can all forget about this movie!..... How anyone can like this movie is beyond me? I was about to throw up at the bridal dinner when guest after guest made stupid toasts. This movie meandered along at a snails pace. The wealthy but dim yuppie scum have an Indian-themed wedding, even though no actual Indians are present, of course The only pale highlight is the few moments of song by Robyn Hitchcock, who deserves better. I kept fantasizing that a Terminator would show up and hose the whole cast with machine-gun fire, But if that had happened, then this movie would not serve its real purpose as time-served in Purgatory.… Expand

Think of your worst nightmare. Then be prepared to walk into a theater and try to keep your eyes open. This is as boring as it comes. You care nothing for any of the characters. There isn't a score low enough to properly rate this movie.

This was absolutely the WORST movie my husband and I have ever seen!!!! I was literally fighting to keep my eyes open...FYI we went to the matinee...not a night time showing. We finally had to follow suit and leave a third of the way through...just as THE MANY MANY theater goers did BEFORE of us that morning!!!!… Expand

I have my favorite types of movies,but, always have an open mind to just about any movie so long as it is entertaining. First, let me say that Rose Mary Dewitt is every bit as good as Anne Hathaway. Nevertheless the movie is every bit as excrucitaing as most weddings. If Demme was out to irritate us, he exceeds all expectations. Only when the 2 actresses were First, let me say that Rose Mary Dewitt is every bit as good as Anne Hathaway. I can't remember the last time I ejected a movie halfway through. This one was horrible - pretentious, boring, annoying, depressing. I'm just glad I only spent $1 on it at a Red Box.

Anne Hatth a whatever her name is awful, just like this movie. It was painfully horrible to sit through. A pile of rubbish. It did not warrant my time. I hated everything about it.
