However generic (just this year, “Raya and the Last Dragon” depicted a similar treasure hunt geared toward bringing together diverse groups), the film’s messaging about unity and the need for a new generation to band together against misinformation and rabble rousing isn’t the worst thing. So much better than what I thought it would be. It brings what people loved about G4 and added on to it.

Being a sequel to the series and that happens more than many years (I think that they happen more than 600 years), because being something that is based on our present day, I liked it when I saw it at dawn and it gives some laughs. Even knowing that each protagonist pony are descendants ofBeing a sequel to the series and that happens more than many years (I think that they happen more than 600 years), because being something that is based on our present day, I liked it when I saw it at dawn and it gives some laughs. Even knowing that each protagonist pony are descendants of Twilight and her friends, it is something that gives detail to the plot. What I hope is that there is a sequel and they tell us why the separation of the three races and what happened to the scenarios of the series and film. Because well, there were also no dragons, chimeras, griffons, etc. At least give us a series or another movie to explain. Please.… Expand

So after 2 years of waiting, and a lotta screenshots, teasers, trailers, merch etc in the past month or two, My Little Pony: A New Generation finally debuts on Netflix as the official intro to the franchise's newest generation of pastel-colored cartoon horses. And i gotta be real: even if itSo after 2 years of waiting, and a lotta screenshots, teasers, trailers, merch etc in the past month or two, My Little Pony: A New Generation finally debuts on Netflix as the official intro to the franchise's newest generation of pastel-colored cartoon horses. And i gotta be real: even if it has its fair share of problems with the pacing, the third act and some unanswered questions, the actual movie itself was really good.
It was a solid way to introduce the audience into this new G5 world, without taking a dump on what made G4 so beloved. The animation is gorgeous, the new characters were likable and relatable, the music was solid, it has some pretty good messages about fighting against racism and accepting new friendship with someone different, it was surprisingly really funny, all the voice actors did a great job, there were a few twists i didn't see coming and it made me even more excited for the upcoming show.
Again, for all its flaws, this movie definitely has more than enough great aspects and entertainment value to make up for it and be worth the wait, and i can easily call it the best My Little Pony movie we've seen yet.… Expand

I love the idea of 3D because it brings a whole new era for this franchise and there were able to do it in one try and did a great job.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. i honestly thought this movie was about racism. it truly shows how many ponies are against other ponies simply for being different. hitler pony was majorly involved and an absolutely genius villain to add. he was bullied for about 28% of the movie, then made an angry mob of racist ponies. he then became a super mega dictator pony which hints at the fact that he is actually the hitler of pony world. this made sense as he also has the Metal Gear Exelsus with him at the end of the movie trying to **** up the plans of the regular ponies trying to have rights in this god forbidden pony world. also i think the purple pony with the horn is autistic. i am not sure though.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie sucks. Had the film been a solo reboot or set during the final episode of season 9 of Friendship Is Magic, I would have been fine with the film and new series.

Hasbro killing off all the characters from Generation 4 that were well beloved, including immortal characters and non-pony species is a disrespect to Lauren Faust and those that made that show great. Choosing Vanessa Hudgens to voice Sunny was a terrible idea. She had made porn photos and has done sex scenes and rated R films. This is who Hasbro wants to lead the new My Little Pony? This is not canon to Lauren Faust’s version of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic or IDW’s version of MLP: FIM.… Expand
