Sandler and Aniston mesh; they made you believe in Nick and Audrey’s cantankerous marriage, and in the love percolating just beneath the fighting. If what Nora Ephron devised was a clever Xerox of the rom-com, “Murder Mystery 2” is a Xerox of the Xerox, powered by a whodunit plot that’s a cheesy light parody of itself played just straight enough to work. When it then shifts into being about the case itself with the characters trying to get to the bottom of it all, the humor feels like it is mostly coasting off of the chemistry of Sandler and Aniston. This can hold things together for a while as both bounce off each other effectively, but the film soon is revealed to just be a recycling of jokes the first film already did better. Read full review

So why has this film got bad reviews? It was funny and entertaining. It was silly yes, but that's the whole point of comedy. Ik ppl don't have much of a sense of humor these days, but come on ppl. Rare for a schlocky comedy, Murder Mystery 2 rips out what held its predecessor back and smooths over the cracks with a slick, hilarious dramedy that wastes no time. Surprisingly sharp, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston return as the Spitzes, sporting more confident chemistry and more confident performances. Joining them is better pacing which is bolstered by nicely directed action.

Overall, Murder Mystery 2 knocks it out of the park, combining focus and wit to make its title experience a well-rounded one.

I really enjoyed the first one and was eagerly waiting for this one to come out but sadly, it did not have the charm of the first one at all. One of the worst kinds of movies molded for streaming. The kind that's just made to be background noise.

I don't want to sound condescending but it's just that both films, this one and its predecessor are mere vehicles for Adam Sandler's effortless comedy. And it's that when he throwsOne of the worst kinds of movies molded for streaming. The kind that's just made to be background noise.

And it's that when he throws himself into these types of projects is when he stops being a humorous actor and borders on the line that makes him a buffoon.

It's the lame comedy that depends on the familiarity the audience has with its actors and their jokes to work properly.
Give this same awful story to better but unknown actors and you wouldn't even hear about it. That's how disposable Murder Mystery 1 and 2 are.… Expand

Whatever. Boring as hell. Unfunny. What more would you expect from the "long awaited sequel" of the hit Adam Sandler movie, Murder Mystery. Adam, I liked Punch-Drunk Love. I liked Uncut Gems. Keep. Doing. Those. Please!

Really bad an incoherent, the plot and mystery is below any sort of acceptable level. What is this a straight on action movie for and why is Adam Sandler fighting like John Wick?
