Una lástima el final, termina significando q la corrupción de la justicia al final gana. Como un juez puede decir hago lo q quiero? que se creen? dioses? no creo q con la muerte, pero un cambio de sangre dentro de ese poderUna lástima el final, termina significando q la corrupción de la justicia al final gana. Uno tiene q pasar por un asesinato y después por la ley y ver lo sucia q es y como todo se compra, y como las vidas no valen nada, para poder ver q en esta película el principio es perfecto, tal cual como debería ser. El final desastroso. Solo lo liberan de la tristeza que es perder seres amados de la manera más violenta, sin q a nadie le importe. Solo somos un número.

As a judge I can say what I q? to be created? gods? q I do not believe in the death, but a change of blood within that wretched power needed. Q One has to go through a murder and then by the law and see how dirty and q is as everything is bought, and how lives are worthless, q to see this movie in the beginning is perfect, as it should be. This movie is a shallow self-indulgent mess that is bereft of any intellectual substance. Instead, its a revenge-fantasy with superficial basically non-existent criticism of a easily criticizable justice system. If you watch movies on a regular basis and like to think about them in different ways (also if you are mentally older than 16), this movie is going to be a pain in the ass to sit through for you.… Expand

I quite enjoyed it, Butler was very good and even Foxx did more than usual.
Interesting narrative which makes you think.
The ending is a bit of a let down and could've and should've had more thought put into it.

I truly like the idea, themes and performance of the antagonist but acknowledge that the movie has weaknesses. Also it is a bit like “Now you see me”. I mean the chain of events aka plan is fascinating and entertaining but impossible to pullI truly like the idea, themes and performance of the antagonist but acknowledge that the movie has weaknesses. Also it is a bit like “Now you see me”. I mean the chain of events aka plan is fascinating and entertaining but impossible to pull off in reality. Not a problem for me by the way but others hate this. The movie is a revenge thriller and about the failings in the US legal system. The story starts with Clyde Shelton who during a home invasion is forced to witness the murder of his wife and daughter. Because of legal problems the prosecuting attorney has to make a deal with the murder. This is the set up for the story. Do not expect a simple revenge movie. Clyde is a capable schemer and really skilled in plotting his revenge. This won me over as it is facinating how much he planned and outmaneuvers his opponents. Sadly the rest is not as good and towards the end it gets weaker. Also I dislike the ending but cant spoil why. The actors are mixed. Gerard Butler as Clyde Shelton is excellent but his nemesis Jamie Foxx who I truly like as actor plays an unlikable character in this movie. The rest of the cast is decent or good. The themes are interesting. Everyone knows the failings of the US justice system and can relate to the situation. This leads to an intense cat and mouse game. Overall this is not a strong movie but the ideas and scheme are interesting enough to win me over. Because of the weaknesses I cant go higher than a 7/10 and think it is a bit weaker. If you don't like the ideas I would say it is probably a 5/10 or lower.… Expand

The movie has just enough to not get kicked. The overall story is quite good but as usual poor directing lets it slide. A guy kills someone then next minute his house is raided by a dozen police cars and SWAT despite there being no evidence that he he is involved - just would not happen. Next scene he is being interogated in a cell that one expect to see in a Hannibal Lecter film in jail except he has not been to court yet so could not be in a jail and one suspects there are not to many steel cages suspended in mid air in existence as interrogation rooms. Although it does destroy the film it is certainly a bit of gravel in your shoe.… Expand

It was a great movie; it's designed to show all the loopholes in the system. The anti-hero is merely trying to repair the broken system by exposing how bad it is. In this movie, there are two sides to this story, someone who is genuinelyIt was a great movie; it's designed to show all the loopholes in the system. In this movie, there are two sides to this story, someone who is genuinely offended by the law, and an officer that believes they made the best decision considering the circumstances. People forget that there was A LOT of planning of all the things to come, which makes it realistic. The system we live in is imperfect and will continue to worsen. I also loved the script!… Expand

Great movie with suspense until 20 minutes from the end. I seriously think the awful ending ruins Gerald Butler`s character.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It had potential. It starts with an interesting point of view of justice, but as the movie continues you can clearly see contradictions in the main character ideas. Also, a lil bit of gore would make it better. However, I liked it.… Expand
