As if this is on the 200 worst rated movies! I thought it was hilarious and judging the the user reviews so did others. Why can't the critics just take a movie for a light hearted comedic escape.

Absolute ridiculous fun. If you just suspend your disbelief and expect nothing less, this film is a blast from beginning to end. A spoof and a tribute to the 70's martial arts epic films, it does a good job of being an intentionally horribleAbsolute ridiculous fun. Needs to be watched with friends. As good as Top Secret. I don't think a sequel will work but hey.... Those sight gags and jokes would not normally work but they did.

A memorable and insanely quotable comedy, parodying old martial arts movies to great effect. The comedy is silly, ridiculous and brilliant. For some reason it won't allow me to adjust my rating to a ten. Consider that a bug. This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, and I don't know what the hell the critics were smoking when they rated it.

critics need to quit taking things up the butt and just enjoy the damn movie! "ohhhhh this movie lacked posh.....ohhhhh this humor lacked wit......ohhhh this humor lacked-" OHHHHH IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT THIS HUMOR LACKED! lol but really though critics expect everything to be so damn posh and mannerized, and if a movie comes around and tries to be silly, they act so harsh toward it cause it didnt fit their cup of tea! critics need to loosen their blouses, untighten their belt buckles, sit back, relax, and enjoy the movie for what it is, not what you expect of it!

overall this movie was downright silly and hilarious! i was laughing throughout the whole movie, unlike a lot of comedy movies these days where i have to force myself to laugh! this movie made me laugh without me having to force myself! lol its goofy and silly movie, and its not serious at all and it doesnt expect you to take it seriously! if you take the movie for what it is then you will enjoy it! dont be expecting anything out of it, cause this movie might not fit what you expected it to be!

I registered for this site solely because of the baffling professional critics reviews. I am flabbergasted. This movie is hilarious. It's a combo if comedy aimed at bad dubbing, old martial arts flicks, the movie industry itself, Monty Python and everything you could think of. I tried so hard to get people to go see it with me and no one wouldThis movie is hilarious. I tried so hard to get people to go see it with me and no one would because the original trail of where is was was just the vow scene that was about the matrix, but I bought it on VHS and showed a friend of mine and we loved it, we quote it today still. This movie is very good and number two was promised and should be delivered. I own it on VHS, DVD ( on my third) I give it as gifts. It's silly in the vein of three amigos. Good silliness.… Expand

I found this very funny and entertaining, although the comedy/humour probably won't appeal to all. Its a parody of martial arts films of the 1970s/80s era and the comedy is quite silly/zany, mostly visual and slapstick. The high pitched voices may grate with some but I found it amusing - its clearly obvious that the film features old footage that has been narrated/dubbed over in English, as is stated to the viewer at the start of the film.

It is perhaps a bit over the top for some and its certainly goofy - undoubtedly this is a film not to be over analysed or indeed taken at all seriously and with a short running time of just over an hour and twenty minutes, it definitely didn't bore me or drag on. I very much enjoyed it, in terms of it being a parody and the style of comedy used. Its maybe a bit basic and too silly for some but I really enjoyed it, so I'm going to recommend it on that basis.… Expand

One of the best comedies of the early 00's. After seeing the trailer I knew immediately that I had to see this movie. It plays out like a Godfrey Ho movie, mostly reused footage from a Hong Kong flick and the rest being original footage.One of the best comedies of the early 00's. Lets be serious. It is a spoof. It is dubbed. Some people will absolutely hate this movie. Much the same as a lot of my friends hated Airplain, Fletch, and History of the World. But lets be honest, it makes you laugh. Honestly, I thought I Lets be serious. It is a spoof. It is dubbed. Some people will absolutely hate this movie. Much the same as a lot of my friends hated Airplain, Fletch, and History of the World. But lets be honest, it makes you laugh. Honestly, I thought I might have to be drunk to enjoy this movie. Bad Idea. I forgot half the stuff, and had to watch it sober. I still laughed like hell. It is soooooo very simple. But I like that kind of humor. How simple could a line be. "I'm a man too you know, I go pee pee standing up." Think about that, if anyone of your friends came up to you and said that, you might just crap your pants laughing. I have found a movie like this sometimes will get a bad review, because people or critics will look into the plot too much, or complain about the lack of a story. Please people give it a rest. The movie was made to make us laugh, and it very simply does that. I hope they really do make a sequal to it. The hint at a sequal at the end of the movie. The did that with Spaceballs too. Oh yeah a nother movie which I am sure got bad reviews, but made me laugh. Enjoy this movie, don't watch it with your girlfriend though.… Expand

One of those rare movies that critics hate but everyone else seems to love. It's stupid and ridiculous and I love it because of that. You just don't mind. The mixing of old footage with new is very well done. One of my fav comedies.

I cannot pretend to know how the professional critics think, but I figure it is a good guess to imagine that they are not the sort that care (or maybe just don't have the time) to go and watch a handful of 70s and 80s Hong Kong films. ErgoI cannot pretend to know how the professional critics think, but I figure it is a good guess to imagine that they are not the sort that care (or maybe just don't have the time) to go and watch a handful of 70s and 80s Hong Kong films. Ergo their understandable inability to judge such movie properly.
Just as with "What's up Tiger Lilly", Woody Allen's spoof-masterpiece of the exact same style, you need a modicum of Asian fighting B-movie going to be able to appreciate it. If you don't, this film will make as much sense and be as much fun as political cartooning from a country you've never lived in.

If you've ever enjoyed (for any reason, be that aesthetic or masochistic) martial arts films, and you have that minimal experience required, you will laugh. Lots.
Not a 10, since there are some slow moments, but less than an 8 would be ungrateful to the makers of this comedy.… Expand

I know that you must never mess with movie critics, but I actually liked this movie. Nice, silly parody of kungfu. Not perfect, but no major flaws to bring it down either. I'd recommend this. Now, let the flaming commence.

Jason T. I couldn't have said it better myself. The critics are just plain snobs, who can't enjoy a simple, moroniclly funny movie. The one thing I agree with them is that it has a few bad jokes and it does repeat itself.

The critics really have gone too far being so harsh to this innocent and funny parody. They must not get the point of this film to thrash it like that!! Some parts were a little too silly, but the rest made up for it! WE-OO-WE-OO-WE-OO!

Obviously someone going to see a sophisticated movie such as the Godfather or Pulp Fiction, both amazing movies in their own regards, shouldn't watch this film expecting the same quality. It was bad, but not quite as bad as the critics would have you believe. It had the same problem as Snakes on a Plane did: they wanted to make a cheesy B-movie but B-movies don't work when they're actually trying to fail.

This Movie's only redeeming quality is the Ed Wood feel. this movie is straight out of the mind of ed wood just 50 years in the future. I understand the point of this movie. I understand the point of this movie. It is making fun of chinese action movies and it does not do a horrible job. it is low budget and is supposed to be low budget. that is the underlying beauty of it. it is completely dumb, the ending sucks, and the dialogue is stupid. there are some I saw that say this movie has no flaws. it in fact has many flaws but it is the flaws that redeem the movie. if this was just poorly written, i could write it off as just another horrible movie. but it is more than that. the dialogue is dumb, the plot is so bad it makes you laugh, the production is terrible, the action scenes look soo bad, and it feels like it was written by a 6 year old. I do think I got the message. This is satire. this is satire of those movies and in how bad it is, making fun of how bad all those movies are. at the same time, it is in the ed wood style where it is so poorly done that it is funny. I also think this was probably intentional, in a way to poke fun at all those bad movies out there. if you analyze it too much it is horrible but overall, it is an average satire that gets the message across.… Expand

I saw this movie and it was thoroughly not funny. If you think you like goofy/dumb movies it still won't work. I love movies that are funny only in their immaturity, this one couldn't be funny unless you were perhaps on lots of drugs.

Absolute garbage. I laughed maybe once for the whole 90 minutes (when the lion in the sky appears and calls the main character simba). I understand what they were trying to do with the bad dubbing and stuff, but that stops being funny afterAbsolute garbage. As per usual, the critics don't understand the oh so complicated concept of comedy (hyperbole).
