Its fabulous, the music, the story and the "science" behind this film. The story cant be pretended, the animations are flawless and the science, it brakes your head if you aren't an physics/astrophysics fan. 1. Characters are best. Every character is memorable and have flashed out personality. I cried during a scene where Cooper watches video message from his daughter Murph, which happens very, very, very rare with me. Even Tom, Romilly and even TARS and CASE, we are not that much emotionally attached to them like to Brand but we know them.
2. Effects are great. Armies of people worked on this movie just for effects and they made masterpiece just like camera, acting and writing crew. I know that everyone knows about iconic black hole scene and it looks amazing. When i watched this movie i felt like i was in space and i was among the first men that was next to black hole. I want to talk about science. I love science, especially physics. But as much as i love when movies are scientifically explained, movies do not need that. That why they are called Science FICTION, they give explanations based on real life THEORIES (not confirmed truth). And that is cool!
3. Actors are great. I do not know what to say, actors are just great. Kid actors are best of the best from that category. Not much to say.
4. Theme. Theme is little complicate, but just a little. It is emotional, fun to watch and intense. *The reason that Cooper is same age and his kids are older is real and it is called time dilation*. I really loved it.
If this hole essay and time i wasted on it do not give you an idea of how much i love this movie and you do not like it-GO **** YOURSELF… Expand

The movie is really well written, you get immersed in it pretty easily and before you see, you stand up from your chair as the giant wave comes towards the spaceship, or gets irrationally angry when Dr. Mann stabs Cooper. I don't know what apes watched this movie and didn't like about it, I'm assuming it is the apes that are shown at the beginning of 2001 A Space Oddessy. ooh ooh ah ah silly ahh monkey people be able to discover Obelisk but can't discover a good reason to like this masterpiece made by Christopher Nolan (goat). If I were Christopher Nolan, I wouldn't even stress if I got a bad rating from Metacritic, knowing they gave Intersteller and Dune (2021) an 74. Actual **** apes who run this silly ahh website full of fat ass nerd who can't even see past their bellies when they wake up in the morning, the amount of fungus and popcorn under those **** chin and stomach roles would help starving children eat, and even then they still would give interstellar something other than 74. I'm honestly not shocked that you people didn't like the movie, I just know you were lost in confusion before they even left the atmosphere. But I bet you guys got really excited when they brought up cornfields until you have more corn stored under your rolls than they have on the entire planet. I now want to review the movie using a 3 act structure. Act 1 (Exposition-Inciting Incident) Act 2 (Midpoint-Rising Action) Act 3 (Climax-Denouement). We are introduced to our Main Character 'Cooper' played by Academy Award Winning Actor Matthew McConaughey, a farmer born in the wrong generation, grew up through many life-altering and developing world issues, being a previous Nasa Astronaut, settles down with his family where he becomes a father of two, his daughter 'Murph' played by Mackenzie Foy. And his son 'Tom' played by popular actor Timothée Chalamet. Without being shown on screen it is shown it is hinted that the mother of the two died. That introduces the Co-Parent to Cooper 'Donald' played by Golden Globe winner John Lithgow. It is also told that he is the father to the mother of Cooper's children. Eventually, Cooper ends up on a mission to a different galaxy to hopefully find a life-sustaining planet. Act 1: Act 1 (just like every act in this film) is an undisputed masterpiece, it starts out the film trickling with minor little problems, Murph getting into trouble at school, sand storms, and slowly losing all food resources year by year. But our first lead up to the 'Inciting Incident' is when a sandstorm occurs and they are forced to retreat home, when reaching home Murph is quick to realize she had left her window open, Cooper and Murph quickly head up to her room to not only discover sand all over her room but sections of gravity that seem to be spelling something out in binary. It's revealed to be coordinated to a hidden NASA base which Cooper and Murph Decide to head to, but are quickly taken in for questioning. When brought in it is discovered that an old friend of Coopers 'Dr. Brand' played by Academy Award-winning actor Michael Caine. This is when Dr. Brand introduces us to our 'inciting incident' Dr. Brand reveals he has been trying to find a way to bring the entire planet to space without killing everyone, and bettering human life, but he does not have the means to do the equation, so plan b is to enter a wormhole and enter a new galaxy, to find a planet that is suitable for human life. This is when Act 2 begins. Cooper is told that a team of people was sent to the galaxy to study and find the best planet, but all had lost contact with Earth. Cooper is given a new mission to go to this galaxy, find the best planet, and start the new human race. He accepts the mission and leaves his family. Murph is heartbroken and angry at her father for this. But that does not stop Cooper from doing the greater good. Personally, I've watched almost every Nolan movie and enjoyed every single one I've ever seen because I like sci-fi movies, space makes me like interstellar, and in movies there are many aspects of interpersonal relationships but it's the uncomplicated relationship that keeps the movie's main focus on science. The concept of the movie is quite different from the others that I've ever seen. The relationship between time, black holes, technology of the future. It's something I never thought it would have but it is a science that is not so complicated that it makes people look confused. The story is explained and contributed to the audience to think for themselves. The movie tells of a world inhospitable due to plant diseases. Force former NASA astronaut Cooper to explore new stars to keep humanity alive. In this movie I loved the scene where a group of astronauts landed on a planet for about half an hour but when they come back the earth has been passed for many years. I find it very interesting to play science with time because there is such a thing in the real world and the scene where Cooper falls into a black hole I feel sparkling. Although in fact we don't know exactly what will happen if we enter a black hole. All of this makes it my favorite sci-fi movie of the year and I'll go back and watch it often. Anyone who is worried that they will be confused by the story or not understand can watch it at all because the texture is not complicated and when solving the clue, everyone will feel very sparkling eyes. I want everyone to open their minds and this movie is sure to be a sci-fi movie that's in everyone's heart.… Expand

Uno de los aspectos más destacados de "Interstellar" son sus efectos visuales. La película nos muestra escenarios espaciales espectaculares y detallados que nos hacen sentir como si estuviéramos realmente viajando a través de las estrellas. I enjoyed the science - it does not talk down to its audience, and I can say I learned a few things. I especially enjoyed the robots with their matter-of-fact voices/affect. Though they don't have a human appearance - they initially appear super clunky (until you come to realize what they're capable of) - you instantly feel comfortable with them, which I credit in great part to the incredible voice acting of Bill Irwin. The father-daughter story is touching - both the young actress and Chastain are tremendous. McConaughey, if you've seen him in True Detective, does not disappoint.… Expand

I thought this was the best film of the year. I knew within the first fifteen minutes that it had potential to soar and it did. Made a special effort to drive the distance to see this movie as my home town was not showing it. Glad I did! A powerful film, heartwrenching and like a good wine, it got better with time. Loved the robots, loved the music. See it.

The most compelling sci-fi movie in years. The emotional resonance is astounding. I cared about what was going one. I felt the pain the characters felt. I cared about what was going one. I felt the pain the characters felt. I saw the underlying current of hope throughout the entire thing. It's an incredible feat to keep viewers completely hooked, interested, and entertained for almost 3 hours regardless of the form of entertainment. "Interstellar" does just that.

By far the greatest strength the movie has is that it plays with so many complicated scientific theories at once, while simultaneously making it simple and easy to comprehend for viewers. Time-travel, black holes, worm holes, 5th dimensions, and more. The movie uses just about everything and yet outside of some particularly grand ideas right at the end I never felt even the slightest bit confused about what Nolan was getting at. This is coming from someone who has never read into any of these topics.

While these scientific theories are presented in an easy to understand manner they do not lose any of their depth. That is a monumental achievement. Nolan shows us just how talented he is. He also creates one of the most gripping films I've ever seen.

I give "Interstellar" a 9.9/10.… Expand

Interstellar is not just another space flick with impressive visuals. It tackles the most important issue we are currently facing on our planet, namely our very survival in the face of overpopulation and unsustainable living, and the crucial need to overcome our natural instincts in order to evolve as a species.

The fact that movie critics and the audience will compare Interstellar with Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece is a testament to the epic scope of the film. However, Nolan’s latest creation is less surreal and more focused on the future of mankind. Rather than abstractly dealing with our origins and place in the universe and assuming that Earth will be our base for reaching to the stars, Interstellar deals with the harsh realities of an increasingly hostile planet, our short-sighted way of life, our natural instinct of individual survival and how it now poses a threat to our survival as a species and, not least of all, the very unromantic, brutal nature of space travel and relativity.

At the same time, unlike 2001, it is not a purely intellectual film. It does not distance itself from human emotion, attempting to strike a balance between its grand scope and the feelings and failings of its characters. Whether it succeeds or not in this balancing act is something people will disagree upon, and it is probably the element that will make or break the film for you. As far as I am concerned, Nolan’s Interstellar is a triumph against the seemingly impossible odds which he faced in this undertaking.… Expand

Interstellar is a movie that attempts to hark back to the pre-CGI days of Sci-fi movies - 2001: A space odyssey, Bladerunner, Alien - and it feels all the more 'real' and visceral for it. Indeed it is probably one of the most visuallyInterstellar is a movie that attempts to hark back to the pre-CGI days of Sci-fi movies - 2001: A space odyssey, Bladerunner, Alien - and it feels all the more 'real' and visceral for it. Indeed it is probably one of the most visually stunning movies since those aforementioned movies, if not surpassing them in several scenes. Perhaps, strangely, what I appreciated most in Christopher Nolan's efforts was a movie mostly devoid of exaggerated suspense, cheap scares, and throw-away once-liners that fade from memory almost as soon as theyy are uttered. It was a mature portrayal of humanity, and a chilling warning of where we might be headed.

Perhaps the only real weakness is in some of the plot mechanics early on. There are some moments that are jarringly unrealistic, from the apparent lack of detailed planning for the mission, a mission of unimaginable importance, to Cooper's seeming complete lack of knowledge of Quantum mechanics (something surely he would have been briefed on prior to launch). I do however concede he needed to inform the audience of some of the science behind their decision-making.

What the movie does exceptionally well, is attempt to marry an awe-inspiring journey into the furthest reaches of scientific knowledge with a commentary on human nature and emotional connections. Family, the reason for existence, the nature of the cosmos - all are concepts touched on, at times quite beautifully, in this motion picture. The acting is great. Matthew McConaughey is a stand-out and pretty much carries the emotional component of the film single-handedly.

I felt tempted to give it a 10, to counter the usual silly 0s that people often give films they feel disappointed in. It's epic. Certainly on of the greatest Sci-fi movies ever made. It's in my top 10 that's for sure. But then, there haven't really been that many EPIC sci-fi movies ever made. The movie does have its issues, and its not perfect. But I feel sure that it will live long in the memory, as all true classics so often do.… Expand

The only, "gimme," is the wormhole--but beyond that, there's not really any hand-holding. No, instead Nolan wants you to watch and re-watch this film over and over, research astrophysics and time-space on your own, and secure as firm of grasp on these concepts as possible. And you better hold on tight once you do, because this movie is one hell of a ride.… Expand

As a physicist I have to say this movie is really nicely done. While in many science fiction movies I get easily annoyed about the scientific inveteracies and just plainly wrong depictions of physics, in this movie I was entirely satisfied. I read somewhere that the director of the movie had a real scientist advise him on many matters of the story and filming and they even used real formulas to calculate some of the special effects and visuals in the movie (the black hole sphere for example). The story of the movie is maybe not everyones cup of tea, but I can't give any negative points there, it was still good enough. It is worth to watch that movie in cinema.… Expand

Nolan has done it again. While the critics were saying that Interstellar is too sentimental, they actually got the wrong idea. I can't say anymore of the plot, but suffice to say: the visuals are breathtaking, the acting stupendous. It's not perfect: the dialogue is filled with a lot of exposition. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was a truly epic tale and for the most part they pulled it off. The next work of Christopher Nolan arrives with much more strength than Inception, not only because we jump from dreamsInterstellar is a mind-blowing movie, there is no way to summarize it in order to convince the audience to go see it. The next work of Christopher Nolan arrives with much more strength than Inception, not only because we jump from dreams to space, but also because is noticeable the consolidation that reached this director. First is the setting of the story, the life of mankind in the Earth has come to an end, although the interesting thing is how Nolan shows it, from the point of view of a family. Here it is clear the importance that acquires the human side in the story (which is also present in Nolan's filmography), and this theme from the beginning to the end is the protagonist. Some examples are the decision that Cooper has to make, whether going to space but miss seeing his children grow or stay; and the other one is probably the most heartbreaking scene of the movie, when the protagonist sees the compilation video (astonishing performance btw). This whole thing aims to evaluate human behavior, sometimes subconsciously (Inception, Memento) and others rationally (Interstellar), but both about survival instincts. Another amazing things about the picture are: the visual effects, obviously, how the crew gather the current info and theories about the aspect of a real dark hole; second, how it exhibits the concept of relativity; and finally, the representation of time as a tangible dimension. The film keeps you on the edge of your seat for nearly 3 hours, definitely nothing like what has been seen before.… Expand

By no means I am a scientific geek, my days of tackling with science has been fortuitously truncated years ago, so putting aside all these heatedly discussed astrological concepts, to be specific, wormhole, black hole, tesseract, the fifthBy no means I am a scientific geek, my days of tackling with science has been fortuitously truncated years ago, so putting aside all these heatedly discussed astrological concepts, to be specific, wormhole, black hole, tesseract, the fifth dimension and time travel relativity (thanks to the enormous contribution of Dr. Kip Thorne), INTERSTELLAR is a potent analogue of Nolan’s previous stunning visual and conceptual extravaganza INCEPTION (2010, 9/10), which looks deep into the bizarre inner activity within one’s dream realm, but this time, Nolan’s scope is going the opposite direction, extended outwardly to the unknown universe and based on a more perceivable future of the earth’s imminent doom (we are all the culprits of various degrees in this scenario), it is not just an awe-inspiring outer-space odyssey, in its dual storyline, the life on earth is phenomenally linked by human’s primitive force - love.

Breathtaking.
Outstanding. The science checks out, at least theoretically, for the most part.

I really liked the overall concept of the movie. I was essentially constantly on edge and wondering what the next steps would be. The movie came together really nicely in the end. Sure there are things that don't make scientific sense and ifI really liked the overall concept of the movie. I was essentially constantly on edge and wondering what the next steps would be. The movie came together really nicely in the end. Sure there are things that don't make scientific sense and if you think too hard (e.g. how can humans travel through a worm hole but not find a better way to grow food, or what is the background of the Earth's deterioration, etc) then the film becomes less of what it sets out to be. So in that regard some things could have been ironed out. But really you don't see this type of movie everyday. It is of very very high quality and I enjoyed it very much. It has a long run time but really doesn't feel long at all. Acting was amazing. Characters are very believable with great stories each and they are easy to get emotionally attached to. And again the underlying plot is extremely interesting and well done. Highly recommend.… Expand

I really liked this movie. Unlike most movies, it comes across as a sound story with a good opportunity for stunning visuals. I thought the acting was strong and I was surprised at the actors/actresses that were in it since I went in cold.I really liked this movie. This should be seen at a genuine IMAX theater since about 90 minutes of it was filmed with IMAX cameras and the movie fills the entire screen during these sequences. I did not think the movie dragged at all which is an achievement for a 2 hr 50 min movie. Great thought provoking experience!… Expand
