Horror is often cathartic, purifying — it puts you through the wringer but you emerge on the other side, somehow cleansed. You’ll find no such succor here. His House is beautifully made, and its scares are monstrously effective, but its images of real-world dread remain unresolved, its specters unvanquished. An allegory! Breathtaking movie about refugees who leave a war zone on any cost, and try to settle in a new life. But how easy is to get rid of the wounds one carries and the deads one leaves behind. Wonderful acting.

A well-thought-out movie that had a perfect concept with some mistakes with the jumpscares: the most horrific aspect of the movie is the scenes without creatures or monsters, but with real-life paranoia, while those with the said "creatures" are pretty amateur. The first half was quite nice, atmospheric and sometimes caused goosebumps. The second half was then but a classic trauma story strand in the horror genre. The film was even sad in places and had a great soundscape, but it's not really convincing on its meta level of the refugee issue.
