The ultimate meaning of Lopez’s life and career is still up in the air, a status suggested by the title Halftime. At one point here Lopez frankly discusses the various personas she has tried on, one of which she refers to as “Don’t write me off.” And we shouldn’t. Read full review

In a way, it’s a shame the film ends with a basic boilerplate listing Lopez’s record sales, box office receipts and social media following. By this point, Halftime has done more than enough to show us that its subject is very much the real deal. Read full review

Micheli’s film is less than artful, scattered with limited talking heads (mostly Lopez’s business partners and her mother, briefly), random flashbacks, occasional archival footage, and a series of short sequences that could frame their own films (particularly quick-cut segments about Lopez’s early years, her treatment by the press, the obsession with her body, the constant tabloid attention), but none of that is the draw: it’s Lopez. Wonderful Documentary, all the false clickbait headlines were garbage, This beautiful story about Jennifer Lopez's journey and her treatment in the media deserves the great reviews its getting.

this is so inspirational. Jlo went through a lot of racism and misogyny during her career, but that didn't stop her from building an entire empire. she works hard for everything she has, she is an icon, a legend without a doubt.

JLO manages to get away with it in Halftime, I don't like documentaries but this one is adequate enough that it makes us think that the artists do not fully enjoy the Super Bowl halftime

As often happens in documentaries that only seek to exalt the figure they're focusing on, Halftime is essentially the same, but scrambled. Particularly when it comes to the machinery required to make the ''Jennifer Lopez's brand'' work.

I read some professional reviews before I started watching it, mostly to get a better sense of it, because to tell you the truth my level of interest was pretty low.

One of those reviews states that Lopez is a ''superstar'' and therefore her attitudes are allowed, but the only thing I could notice was the stink of her ego and it definitely only reaffirmed the opinion I had of her, regardless of her professional accomplishments.

That's why I doubt this documentary will change the minds of those who think the same about her, because at the end of the day, you don't learn anything from her, rather this only serves to do what I mentioned first; To keep the brand going.… Expand
