The harmony among the kids, particularly the older girls Kari (Lidya Jewett) and Sarah (Eva Hauge), is the film’s greatest asset, and the director, Elissa Down, uses their natural charm as a crutch for the run-of-the-mill story. Read full review

Sofia Carson is a capable lead and very easy on the eyes, the dance scenes are also extremely well choreographed and you can tell great care was made into putting them together. It is very difficult to find something to compliment in this movie. The directing and cinematography is flat and uninteresting. Two shots wowed me in the entire movie; fairly basic shots, mind you, they were just better than the others. The dance scenes were very cringy and uninspired, except for one. The script is extremely cheesy and ham fisted. One scene had a fair bit of tension I didn't expect, but it was edited so poorly that it was difficult to understand what was happening before it ended 30 seconds later. And no spoilers, but the ending and climax are the most predictable beats this kind of story can hit.… Expand

"Feel the Beat" really did have potential. With Sofia Carson in the lead role and great choreography, I was really disappointed to see that this film was not even close to good.
