I have never cried so much in a movie. TIL when you laugh too hard for too long, your eyes turn to mush.

This movie is so franchise-making, standard-setting that Disney is definitely going to buy it and put Kathy Kennedy in charge.

Action packed and funnay A.F! Many nods to various Heroes and villains in the Marvel universe. Biggest complaint is the first quarter is a bit slow... But picks up fast. If your a fan of the first movie see it!

Deadpool 2 is absolutely perfect movie. It is funny, action packed, and very unpredictable. Deadpool 2 is a great movie that will give you the most fun two hours you'll spend in a movie theater all summer. Better than Avengers: Infinity War.

The short review: This is as good/great as the first film and I have not even seen the first film!

Related media: The first film was banned from the cinemas and TV in my country and I still don’t know which scene(s) had caused this. Ha ha!
The short review: This is as good/great as the first film and I have not even seen the first film!

Related media: The first film was banned from the cinemas and TV in my country and I still don’t know which scene(s) had caused this. Ha ha! I have also not read any Deadpool comics before, but I have seen all the clips you can get on Youtube.

What's it like? A major character dies at the beginning and Deadpool is depressed. He tries to prevent a young mutant from doing the wrong thing, but is instead imprisoned with the mutant in a place where mutant powers are neutralised. Then Cable shows up to kill the mutant. It has a lot of silliness, jokes, violence, and breaking-the-fourth-wall conversations, yet there is a good lesson in it. Mid- and post-credit scenes: There is one GREAT mid-credit multi-scene and no post-credit scene.

Positives: 1) This film is filled with jokes, silliness, and breaking-the-fourth-wall conversations. 2) At the core of the film is a message about the mutants vs humans fight that the X-men films had been trying to impart onto us, and it is great that of all X-men characters, it is the irreverent Deadpool that imparts this message best of all.

3) The cameos are very unexpected but are very funny. The cameos in the mid-credit multi-scene, including that of a character that is already dead in another film universe, raises the bar to another level of silliness. 4) Deadpool recruits several new mutants to his team here, they makes the film interesting. What happened to these mutants is very funny and Domino, a mutant with the power of luck, was a standout character.

5) The apt use of some 80's music also much appreciated. Negatives: Some say that this film is not a fresh as the first film. As I had missed out on the first film, it didn’t bother me.

How would the different age groups rate it?

Children: You need to grow up by some ten years first… but it’ll still be too adult for you! No Deadpool 2 for you!;
Teens: Are you going to be accompanied by your parents to this film? Then it will be an ‘Excellent’;
Young adults: Excellent;
Medium age adults: Excellent; Old adults: The film is too adult of ‘Old adults’. They would only give it a ‘Good’; Rating: 5/5 (no half scores). Pay to watch it in the cinema and then buy the DVD.

While I think it is not as refreshing as the first movie it has the same strengths, one of the best post credit scenes ever and addresses some complaint of the first movies in humorous ways like why there are so few X-Men ;-). Like the prequel we get the “Merc with a Mouth”, hugely entertaining humor, 4th wall breaks and an entertaining story that takes itself not too serious. This time we deal with Deadpools worst screw up that is so painful he just wants to die (Wont spoil details). However his regeneration does not allow this. He tries to save a child but unbeknownst to him this will get harder as expected. I try my best here to avoid spoilers so I am sorry for being cryptic. The story works well and is a good vehicle for the characters, humor and action. The old characters return to reprise their roles and the new ones are an excellent addition. Ryan Reynolds again fully delivered. Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, T.J. Miller, Leslie Uggams and Karan Soni are also again excellent. For the new characters we get a truly strong Josh Brolin, good Julian Dennison, entertaining Zazie Beetz and Shioli Kutsuna. The humor is as respectless, dark and entertaining as it gets. There is no misfire. I have to repeat that the post credits are a highlight. The special effects are nice too and I think I said all there is. I give a rounded up 10 because this is a really good sequel and this deserves extra credit. Expand

Rarely do I walk out of a cinema and think 'THAT was worth my money, hell I'm even going to buy the Blu-ray / DVD' Deadpool 1 and 2 are two such films.

Oh and for the love of god, DON'T walk out when the credits start to roll as happened when I went to see it, the after credits are in a league of their own and definitely worth it.

The movie has loads of surprises and most of all it has heart in the core of this movie which is something unique coming out of a character like Deadpool. My only grip with this movie is not all the jokes land but apart from that its a great sequel which not much CBM's accomplish when it comes to second outing in a franchise. Expand

While this happens from time to time, outside of the few times this occurs in Fight Club, I cannot think of a single major film to date that has done this successfully. The first Deadpool film did this seamlessly as it took us on a journey through the anti-hero’s shady past, and the follow up builds on this as well as other aspects flawlessly. Everything from the over-the-top violence and crude humor to the one off cameos, Deadpool 2 hits its target, even when aiming left of center.

The film opens an unknown amount of time after the events of the first film, with Deadpool using his abilities to take down high value targets that other assassins are too afraid or ill-equipped to handle. After pissing off the wrong target, he loses everything and is soon suicidal, found by Colossus and taken in by the X-Men. Needless to say, his first mission as part of the team goes south and he’s found in a mutant prison. Soon into his stay, the time traveling Cable, played perfectly by Josh Brolin (Avengers Infinity War, Sicario) arrives to assassinate Deadpool’s new cellmate. After his violent escape, he sets out with his not so trusty sidekick Weasel, played by TJ Miller (Silicon Valley) to build a team, known as X-Force. The team sadly falls apart too soon, as the characters play well off of each other.

The entire cast works well, playing out like a highly dysfunctional family with the supporting cast offering just as many, if not more laughs than Ryan Reynolds in the titular role (as well as pulling an uncredited double duty as one of the film’s villains). Reynolds, Brolin, and Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) as Domino bring the characters to life, ripped straight from the pages of the Marvel Comics’ series they are based upon. Beetz simply steals any scene she is in with her comic timing and commanding presence, avoiding her becoming nothing but eye candy, which is the case with many of the female superheroes (I.E. Black Widow, Catwoman, Harley Quinn). My lingering complaint with the film is that Domino’s makeup and hair differ greatly from the comics and make the character almost unrecognizable visually. While I can see why the opted to have a single eye covered in white makeup opposed to her entire body, which would be a nightmare touching up on the set of an action film, I found her afro to differ greatly and is far from tactical, considering she’s an assassin.

The movie involves some time travel, which has been an issue in the past with the overall series but this movie handles it well, making few changes in the past that would come back to bite them in the ass. The X-Men film series are known for having the very definition of a nightmare when it comes to continuity, and Deadpool 2 does right some of these wrongs, yet makes some similar mistakes as well, due to a blink and you miss it cameo. The film even goes as far as to try to right one of the series past mistakes.

Much like the original film, there is quite a bit of CGI that works well. Colossus makes a triumphant return, and while he looked a bit too SyFy channel movie of the week in terms of appearance in the original, he often looks like he is a legit man made of metal in this outing. While I feel his appearance in X2 was more appealing, this venture was a step in the right direction. The movie’s biggest baddie (in terms of size and scope) is also 100% CGI and looks impressive, with this being his best on screen appearance to date.

If you thought the original Deadpool was an immature, crude, hyperviolent piece of trash, you’ll probably think the same of this sequel. If you’re like me and look at him as one of the best superheros on the market, film or otherwise, you’ll have an amazing time watching the story unfold.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is not very common for highly successful superhero movies that explore a new genre have an equally successful sequel. Superman and Superman II, Iron Man and Iron Man 2, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, there are plenty of examples where a great movie is followed by a mediocre or even a bad sequel. But this one is definitely not one of them. Rather I like Deadpool 2 more than its prequel. Since the previous movie was more set up in order to give an origin story and have the regular good guy vs bad guy fight, it did not have much time to explore over its humour. And this is exactly where Deadpool 2 does the job.

The story revolves around Wade Wilson once again with his popping over his wife's death by a bunch of mercenaries and alongside that he is trying to save a boy from becoming a supervillain and getting killed by Cable. This movie it takes itself very lightly just like the prequel and breaks the fourth wall continuously as the story passes by. There is even a joke on Josh Brolin playing the role of cable as Deadpool says, "Suck it, Thanos!". Multiple comic scenes take place throughout the movie e which include the formation of the X-Force, Deadpool being made an X-Men trainee and no one taking him seriously, Wade Wilson been sent to prison, Deadpool fighting Cable and releasing all the mutants only to be ripped in half by Juggernaut and Deadpool growing out as a baby from the bottom half.

The action scenes of this movie are even better than the previous one. I really like the scene from the beginning of the movie where Deadpool is fighting a bunch of Yakuzas in Osaka. The camera revolves around Deadpool as he slices down all the man who have come to save the leader. When juggernaut and colossus are about to fight Deadpool says, "Big CGI fight coming up!". When he is about to fight cable for the first time, Cable ask him who he is to which he replies, "I am Batman!". Overall there are multiple action comedy scenes sprinkled all across the movie.

The movie also gives an important message, which is not something we normally see in an X-Men movie. Deadpool tells Russell to let the headmaster live, as killing him would send him on the path of villainy from which it will be impossible to come back. Instead of Russell Deadpool chooses to take the bullet from Cable and his death becomes the reason why Russell chooses to give up killing and become a good person instead. This also saves Cable's family from dying and he can go back in peace. But soon afterwards that message is discarded after the headmaster is run over by Dopinder's taxi, thus fulfilling his dream of becoming a contract killer.

Deadpool 2, being the movie for a mature audience as it is, is hard to think of home to watch with, considering such a movie cannot be watched with the family and friends have watched it anyway. This is the reason why it's a good thing they decided to make a sequel of this movie and connect it to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants were not made, this could have been the most perfect way to culminate the X-Men franchise and merge it with the remaining Marvel Cinematic Universe. I can't wait to watch more of this.

So though it's an "R", there should be a lower limit of age 14 due to language and so much massive amounts of gratuitous death and dismemberment. Seriously, there's a portion of the public that may need trauma therapy after viewing this. Anyway, it's a heck of a fun ride. Ryan's snarky commentary throughout is funny but it's uneven because he doesn't apply it to his love scenes with Vanessa (Morena B), but that's a minor nit that's certainly offset by so many other areas of strength. TJ Miller is always a comedic treat, just saw him in "Ready Player One" last night, too. And the character "Domino" made for some entertaining moments with her super ability of "luck". A fun, solid "9" of a movie - and I don't hand those out often. Expand

Finally, after all the underwhelming repetitive single-use superhero flicks Deadpool returns to save the day.

Deadpool 2 is the exemplary sequel - it just takes all the original's ingredients and carefully improves upon them.

The first movie felt a bit confined with just a couple of locations due to its low budget - this one feels like a proper blockbuster. The first had modest action - here the amount, scale and choreography (thanks to director Devit Leitch) of fight scenes is heightened noticeably. The situation with jokes here is on par with the original - there are a lot of them, some don't work, but many do and the overall impression is very much favorable, there are plenty of laughs to be had here. The sheer number of characters involved is also increased, which does leave some with little screen time, like Negasonic Warhead.

Had it not been for the stretched-out ending and a few story hiccups, this might've even been a 10/10 contender. While WB keep wasting their comic universe's potential and Disney keeps spitting out generic junk of descending quality, Deadpool 2 manages to be as good as its predecessor and set directly set things up for sequels. And I say, keep them coming.

This film really kicks up the violence, fun, and fourth wall-breaking quite a few notches and adds some fun and awesome characters into the mix, such as Josh Brolin's Cable, Zazie Beetz's Domino, and even some rather unexpected blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameos in a couple spots. Reynolds is once again spot-on and fully committed to the role he was born to play, which is especially made evident and credible in the hilarious mid-credit scenes! Overall, I really couldn't have asked for a better sequel to an already hilarious and enjoyable first film! Keep doing what you're doing Mr. Reynolds! Expand

Even with a few pacing issues in the half of the movie, it's still just as fresh as the first chapter for the Merc With A Mouth. Once again, the cast has an amazing performance, and the highlights are Ryan Reynolds (again!) and Josh Brolin as the movie's antagonist, the time traveler Cable. These two characters on screen together is simply amazing in terms of action and comedy. Of course, I can't forget about Zazie Beets as Domino, another one of the film's greatest characters and achievements.

The budget is way higher now than before. In that way, it delivers bigger, more tense and exciting action scenes than before. Not only this, but the CGI is better in many scenes, and the soundtrack as a whole is better.

In terms of plot, while Deadpool 2 has an easy and simple story like the first movie, it is more well-written and emotional than before. I have to admit, some parts of the story did make my jaw drop! And, of course, I can't forget about its humor... But what can I say? We're talking about Deadpool. One negative aspect about the movie is that pacing gets a little off at some places, though. And, sometimes, it offers a few scenes that end up being unnecessary to the story as a whole.

So, to say it shortly: Deadpool 2 is another one of FOX's succesful attemps in doing a R-Rated Superhero movie. They've really nailed the formula, and Deadpool 2 is the ultimate proof of it (of course, after Logan). While it does have a few pacing issues in its middle, the second chapter of Wade Wilson's life is still outstanding. 9.0/10.

It is basically the destilled essence of everything I love about movies. Dark humor, gore, action and most important of all? It doesn't take itself seriously. Not in the least. I rarely like action hero movies. They seem pretentious and too full of themselves. Deadpool 1/2 is the antithesis to this. As is Guardians of the Galaxy (I loved the first one, and enjoyed the second). It's the same ingredients basically, but with Deadpool it just nails all of it. To a wall. Through a head. It's so unconventianal it just keeps throwing surprises at you. And... Yes, this movie actually has depth aswell! I have to admit to a bit of choke-up a couple places. Didn't expect that, but I gladly welcomed it.

Can't wait for the third.

We see Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) coping with life as a mercenary and a loving boyfriend to Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). Things never go according to plan for our anti-hero, Wade, as there seems to be a kid, who goes by the name "Firefist" (Julian Dennison) causing some havoc with his strange and dangerous mutant powers. That is where a time-travelling mutant named Cable (Josh Brolin, enjoying to mess with many superheroes from "Avengers" to this) comes in and threatens to kill this kid. The plot is basically 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day' (1991), which - as you can imagine - Deadpool does make a slight reference to. Wade then decides to recruit a team, as you saw in one of the latest trailers, he forms a group he calls the "X-Force" which includes; Domino (Zazie Beetz), Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgard), Bedlam (Terry Crews) and many others. Without saying too much, the scene with the "X-Force" is one of the funniest scenes in this movie, I can't explain why, but it's a scene I will never forget. The sequel - with David Leitch as the director - is definitely much bigger, but it never loses the heart of what made the first movie do so well. Nor does it lose track of Deadpool as a comic book character. 'Deadpool 2' deserves to be mentioned among the list of sequels that surpass their predecessors. The action scenes are terrific, the humor is offensive, the story goes surprisingly deeper, and the characters just keep coming. Overall, this is a really fun movie, with some really fun moments. Josh Brolin once again steals the show just like he did in 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018), Zazie Beetz does a good job as Domino, Julian Dennison plays well as a troubled kid, and Ryan Reynolds just carries this movie so effortlessly. Bringing together a team of fellow mutants (Zazie Beetz, Terry Crews, Bill Skarsgård, Rob Delaney etc.) to protect a young boy (Julian Dennison) with supernatural abilities from a time traveling mutant, Cable (Josh Brolin). Shocking for all the right reasons, and laugh out loud funny from the opening scene all the way to the end credits.

I’ve already mentioned we’re living in the time where superhero movies are becoming mind numbingly boring and Deadpool couldn’t have come at a better time. With the first one setting the bar very high there was always the fear that it would slowly decrease in quality with each sequel until there’s no more money to be made and the franchise dies. Deadpool 2 could have been a disaster but with Ryan Reynolds and director David Leitch in control there was no need to worry. I loved every minute of Deadpool 2, from the crude jokes to the ultra violent action sequences. Sure I could have done without a slow-motion scene every five minutes but I’m willing to forgive that. Fun and entertaining to the max. The addition of some new characters was a definite step in the right direction particularly, Zazie Beetz as Domino and Josh Brolin, who is having a great year. I hope I don’t have to sell this movie to you, the marketing alone should have done that, if you enjoyed the first Deadpool then get yourselves to a cinema and check out Deadpool 2, not only does it not disappoint but it’s just as good as the first one. Highly recommended.

The opening credits are a tribute to James Bond, really well done and performed by Celine Dion. Good performances of Domino, Rusell (the kid) and Cable.

There are 2 mid-credit scenes; the second one is the best mid-credit scene of all times in cinema history.

When considering ‘Deadpool 2,’ there hasn’t been another superhero sequel as good if not better than the original since Christopher Nolan flexed his muscles in the genre with ‘The Dark Knight.’

The main body of ‘Deadpool 2’ blends together the action, plot and soundtrack to such a high degree that it’s virtually unparalleled compared to other films. From recent memory, the only other film that comes close—besides the first Deadpool—was last year’s ‘Baby Driver.’

The film’s dialogue is packed with movie references, nods at pop culture, and even jokes at Ryan Reynold’s own expense, so much so that a second viewing would absolutely be necessary to try and catch them all.

The movie isn’t perfect. For example, the first half of Cable’s storyline feels a bit disjointed from the rest of the film. However, it steadily becomes increasingly well integrated over time.

However, for a franchise that prides itself on violent irreverence, it’d be unthinkable to assume that they were capable of making audiences well up with emotion at the end, yet they had the entire theater choking back tears, a rare achievement that strongly rounds out this film and places amongst the best in its class.

Realy good better than the first one, Deadpool knows what his about and doesn't take himself too seriously and even with that, the movie does better justice to characters in comparison to the comics than previous X Men or any superhero movies.

NOTE DE LA RÉDACTION : 4/5

As we all know, sequels can and usually are just...eh. This movie surprised me with its current jokes and vibrant cast. I don't want to say/talk about any of those jokes for spoiler reasons. The part in which I did not like was the mid-credit scene. Something happens in it which kind of makes the entire movie pointless. It confused me and left me wishing that it never happened. The cast/acting was great and the jokes were on point so I'll give this movie an 8.5. Since I had a great overall movie experience when seeing this, I've decided to round up to a 9. Marvel fans who liked the first one should see it, but do not bring your kids. The jokes are as raunchy as they come. That's not a fault... that is just Deadpool. Expand

Overall, Deadpool is a hilarious, over the top, self aware movie that has the best after credits scene i have ever watched. With the pressure of making a movie better than the 2016 adaptation, i could tell they wanted to make it more everything than the first movie, and it most ways they did. The gore is kicked up a notch, the humor is on point, and i never got bored when watching this movie. The cast did a great job brining their characters to the big screen. Most especially domino, Zazi beetz does a great job playing the lucky badass all throughout the movie. Its great to see colossus and negasonic teenage warhead back but i feel like i could've seen a little more of her. But cable is in a league of his own. Josh brolin does an amazing job playing the badass super soldier. But the one thing this movie has a problem with is its mood and pacing, at some points it tries to be romantic but it just made me feel awkward watching this with my parents next to me. same thing with the pacing at times. But those are just small points that dont affect how i feel about this movie and i believe deadpool 2 was well worth the wait and was everything i wanted the movie to be and more. But is it better than the first? In my opinion it is in most ways, but i feel like their are more iconic scenes in the first deadpool than in the second. But no matter what i say, If you have the time, i highly recomend you watch this over the top "family" movie. Expand

Fantastic and Hilarious. The start of the film was gold and set the wheels in motion for the rest of the film, was a fantastic opening sequence. The start of the film was gold and set the wheels in motion for the rest of the film, was a fantastic opening sequence. My local boy Julian Dennison, who starred in perhaps the best NZ film in history 'The Hunt For The Wilderpeople' (I recommend you watch this it's great!), he's from New Zealand and he played as Russell in this film did a great job in his role and has a bright future ahead of him! Don't want to go into detail to much but overall it was much more absurd, rude, hilarious and at times was a tad emotional and serious. FYI: After the movie has finished, I recommend you stay afterwards, you will be pleasantly surprised. =) Expand

Awesome movie. Dadpool feels like Spider-Man, if Spider-Man was Doadpool. Deodpool 2 is a really good and fun movie. Go watch Doedpool 2, it's nice.

Cool film, really liked it! Very funny but also very violent, defo not for kids. Reynolds and Brolin are super hot, worth the ticket price alone :)
