Vidhu Vinod Chopra ventures into Hollywood territory with Broken Horses, and comes with lukewarm results. Look, Horses isn't a masterpiece, or a great movie, but it is a nice tale of two brothers, love and vengeance. The film is gleefully violent and long, with no substance in the story and no spice to the characters. I wanted to delve into Chopra's masterfully designed desert, the story and the emotion. But, Alfonso Cuaron and James Cameron were wrong about the brilliant reviews. Some people might love Vinod Chopra's classic tale of vengeance, love and brotherhood. And it deals with those things damn well. I felt the emotion in a movie I quite couldn't put my hand on or recommend the 2 hour soap opera with blood and brotherhood. Broken Horses ultimately fails to deliver the Hollywood movie sense we all know Chopra can deliver to us. Just look at his Hindi movies. But Chopra should have stayed in Bollywood than cross the border to his gleefully created Mexico in this disappointing film.…Expand
