Loads of fun, solid action and dazzling visuals. Best female action squad since Charlies Angels (Barrymore version of course). A little heavy handed on the narration which feels like a little lazy storytelling. Better stoned.

Margot Robbie returns as the fan-favorite Harley Quinn joined by Rosie Perez, Jurnee Smollet-Bell, Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. A wild and violent adventure for characters who are all on their own mission until they eventually cross paths in the urban streets of Gotham City. The pacing tends to slow down a bit and the comedy can be very hit or miss but once the titular team finally connects, it's some of the best choreographed fighting in a long time. With strong perfomances from Robbie, Perez and McGregor and a female-heavy soundtrack, the DCEU continues with their streak of enjoyable films that are beautifully shot and choregraghed but could still use some work in the editing department.… Expand

Tbh I didn't expect much from this movie . But it was pretty good. After Wonder Woman and Shazam , DCEU finally seems to be headed in the right direction. What I liked about the movie:

I don't get the hate. This was a fun action packed movie. I know people like Angry Joe cried about female empowerment but it fits the character. Its just women fighting bad guys pretty much like any other normal heroes movie. I mean let's be rational there's millions of movies where men fight men, does that means men hate men? But if it's women then it's all horrible thing, think about that for a second. Overall watch the movie first because most of the reviews are from people who haven't actually seen it and hate seeing women not being weak or sexualized. This movie truly is FANTABULOUS. The lead actresses showed great acting skills. The whole movie, while not perfect, is definitely original, fresh and unique. It is a fresh approach to the usual Superhero movie. They did a great job!

The movie is a lot of fun and nails the spirit of the Harley Quinn comics from 52 and Rebirth. A mix of Deadpool and Charlie’s Angel’s is the best way I could describe it.

Margot Robbie is brilliant and so is the rest of the cast. Ewen McGregor has a blast playing Black Mask as this violent man child with daddy issues unable to deal with not getting his way. The actual Birds Of Prey don’t ever take center stage at all in this as the whole thing is pretty much a Harley Quinn movie.

It is a little choppy in places though pacing wise and they kind of hammer home the girl power themes with every single male character (even the minor ones) treating women like dirt. But it doesn’t appear to be a conscious choice, nor does it feel like a lecture. Plus, every female character (even the minor ones) are hardly perfect either. They all mess crap up, have issues and are morally ambiguous at best. This is Gotham City after all… Expand

My god it is violent! I almost couldn't bear it and I briefly considered walking out, but not because the film is bad, it's just so violent, maybe more so than deadpool. Not sure. The violence certainly did raise the emotions very high and it became exhilarating throughout the rest of it.

It was certainly on par with Joker and Shazam. DC do these kinds of movies well. I recommend this film, but apparently there is a lot of 'hooha' about it. Buying into all that stuff can really ruin a movie. (I wonder to myself, if I had not paid attention to the 'hooha' around captain marvel, would I hate that movie as much as I do?) Well in any case, if you've not paid attention the media with regards to this film, you should consider giving it a go.… Expand

Birds Of Prey is a wacky good entertaining comic book movie that fills with great villain, great action, and good performances, Roman Sionis and Victor Zsasz is some of the most menacing villains i've ever seen in a comic book movie playedBirds Of Prey is a wacky good entertaining comic book movie that fills with great villain, great action, and good performances, Roman Sionis and Victor Zsasz is some of the most menacing villains i've ever seen in a comic book movie played incredibly well by both Ewan McGregor and Chris Messina, Margot Robbie can be not perfect couple of time just like in Suicide Squad but she is mostly carrying the film and overall good performances, and the rest of the team was surprisingly also great and enjoyable and badass, i don't know about Rosie Perez though, the kid was decent enough, the story maybe could've been better but it's not a terrible story too, it's quite engaging enough, and there is surprisingly a couple of really dark moments too, couple of flawed pacing, and overall Birds Of Prey And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn wasn't blown me away but it's still entertaining, it's still a good movie, it's way better than Suicide Squad and some of the previous DCEU movie, and i like it.… Expand

This is my 2nd favorite DC movie, my favorite movie of 2020, and one of my favorite movies of all time. Margot Robbie's performance as Harley Quinn was exceptional, one of the best performances I have ever seen. The supporting performances from Ewan McGregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Ella Jay Basco, Chris Messina, and Rosie Perez were stupendous. The writing was phenomenal and the humor was hilarious, one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. The costumes were remarkable especially the ones wore by Margot Robbie, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ewan McGregor, and Rosie Perez, I loved how amazingly unique, colorful, and cool all of the costumes were especially the ones wore by Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. The makeup and hairstyling was outstanding especially on Margot Robbie, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco, and Ewan McGregor. The music was excellent, I loved how they incorporated pop, hip hop, rock, heavy metal, r&b, and soul all into the movie and soundtrack. The soundtrack is my favorite DC movie soundtrack, my favorite antihero movie soundtrack, my 2nd favorite superhero movie soundtrack, one of my top 10 favorite action movie soundtracks, and one of my favorite movie soundtracks of all time. The visual effects were superb especially Bruce the Hyena and the ACE Chemicals explosion. I do not think that Birds of Prey could have been any better than it was.… Expand

‘Birds of Prey’ is such a flockin’ fun movie. After viewing it two times, I can confirm that this is my third favorite DCEU film. Filled with action, laughs, and fantabulous performances, I was smiling ear to ear the entire way through. The‘Birds of Prey’ is such a flockin’ fun movie. After viewing it two times, I can confirm that this is my third favorite DCEU film. Filled with action, laughs, and fantabulous performances, I was smiling ear to ear the entire way through. The star, in this film, of course, is the always fantastic Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn herself. She IS Harley Quinn. The mannerisms, the accent on-screen, and how animated she was made the role an achievement for her. Another standout was Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis or the Black Mask. A fun, yet terrifying villain with hilarious quirks while still showing a twisted side of himself. Other standouts are Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress was a delight to see, and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, a New York-style, intimidatingly badass cop. All of the film really was spot on, maybe except for a few moments that seemed off in the screenplay. The cinematography was inventive, colorful, and sometimes goose-bump inducing. And the action sequences are just as exhilarating as the film is entertaining. I've been waiting for this since forever and I'm not disappointed, that movie is awesome. I love the narrative and how everything is connected. Give us some more Canary right now please. I would have liked to see more of Huntress but it will be for next time. Cain is good and I hope we'll see her as Orphan in the future, she can totally do it.

Sionis and Zsaz are great together but they could have been better, they had a huge potential. I don't think they're the best villain but they bring something new and that's the spirit. When the genre is starting to be repetitive, it's good to have movies like that.

The action sequences are stunning, it's beautiful, colorful, aesthetic and well choreographed.

S/o to my guy George Harkness for the cameo. I can't wait to see Harley in TSS now.

Plus I had the chance to see it in IMAX, so happiest boi on Earth… Expand

I enjoyed the fast pace of this film and the fight scenes. It has good visual imagery/CGI and the characterisation is ok. Surprisingly enough, Birds of Prey is among my favorite DC movies. I really like the feeling and tone of Birds of Prey, I find it refreshing.

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn absolutely carries this movie and is easily the best part of it. She's an amazing Harley Quinn. She's THE Harley Quinn. The other characters are fine, nothing spectacular.

The biggest crime a superhero movie could commit in my opinion is not having enough action and being boring. Birds of Prey fortunately has plenty of satisfying action scenes. I was never bored watching it.

Don't mind the low user reviews. The misogynists are review-bombing Birds of Prey because it has female characters in it and there's a theme of "misogyny bad" throughout the movie, which triggered them greatly. That's literally it. This is a good movie.… Expand

It's a high energy comedy-ish movie for teens with amazing, beautiful, attractive, not sexualized protagonists. Pleaaaase don't believe all the crappy critics that came out as soon as the movie did, people judged it just as a "bad SJW DC movie for girls" but then go ahead and like Deadpool. Idk I recommend you watch it. I do love a movie about a bunch of women that look hot af and have amazing fighting scenes and have real personalities instead of just being someone's love interest. I'm sorry but I do believe the bad scores are mostly dudes being crybabies about an action DC movie with real women characters. Margot really did an amazing job as the real post-Joker Harley from the comics. I never liked Harley as a character when she was just Joker's accesory, she was so boring. But oh boy do I like her now. I'm not saying the movie is perfect or that everyone should like it, I'm saying it made me laugh out loud a couple of times, it's as cringey anddd funny as Deadpool was and you should give it a try if you're into the DC universe.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Birds of Prey is a decent DCEU movie and earns redemption for Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn after the mess that was Suicide Squad. The writing, directing and story give Quinn much more depth, make her a more interesting character, and allow us to get to know her much more than we were able to in Suicide Squad. BoP does a nice job of emphasizing Quinn’s anarchic and wild spirit and personality without having her be overshadowed by other characters, which really gives her room to shine and show us who Quinn truly is. The fight sequences are pretty good and entertaining, although they don’t quite live up to ones that we saw in Aquaman. This movie serves as a palate cleanser for both Quinn and viewers. Quinn is forced to fend for herself as a result of her actions early in the film and is put in difficult situations, so this isn’t a great palate cleanser for her, but her life is changed in big ways and we see her go through a bit of an arc. For viewers, this is a DCEU film where stakes and ramifications are pretty low since this is a movie about a character who has liberated herself and is on the run because of that, which is a nice breath of fresh air from movies with much higher stakes like Aquaman. We can sit through this movie knowing that there won’t be a fight that destroys a city or some kind of alien invasion, a luxury we don’t have with so many other comic book films. All of this makes BoP a better movie than a lot of its predecessors and more easy and fun to watch. That said, BoP isn’t a perfect movie by any means. The dialogue and interactions between characters goes a bit over the top on many occasions when Quinn gets a bit too wild and anarchic and some of the lines are cheesy and unnecessary. There are relatively minor things that get way too much attention which distracts from the bigger picture of the movie and gives the script a bit of wild and anarchic vibe of its own, which doesn’t work at a few points in the movie. BoP is a movie that you kinda have to push through at moments so you can get to the good stuff, but when you get there, it really gets going and delivers the entertainment that fans watch comic book movies for. Overall, BoP has its flaws but is a huge step in the right direction for Harley Quinn and is a solid entry in the DCEU.… Expand

While it is true that nearly all the leads are females and all the males in it are bad guy, if this movie was released 10 years ago people would not have had anywhere near the negative reaction they have to it now. Now i've got all of that out of the way this movie is fantastic. The R rating was a great idea as it allowed the violence and swearing to run free which is exactly how a Harley Quinn movie should be. In other movies the jumping around with the story could be jarring and tiring, this movie manages to find the right balance between making sense and being crazy like Harley. The comedy in this movie is used well to balance out the moments of extreme violence. The visuals are bright and stylish. The action sequences in particular feel fully formed and stylish. The acting is all really good with the highlights being Margot Robbie and Ewan McGregor but the whole cast is excellent too. I feel like before people see this movie they just instantly dismiss it but it is just so much fun if you can get over your bias. While it may not be perfect I just keep finding myself watching it over and over gain as it is just so much fun.… Expand
