While Avatar's $238 million budget delivers beautiful visual effects, to be sure, it feels like not a single nickel was spent on creating believable dialogue or likable characters. On these grounds, it may be the most uneven film ever created.

It was fun to watch, but I hated how recycled it is. Great visuals, but James Cameron could have done so much more with the plot line, characters, and general movie. I was disappointed to say the least.

It is a mediocre movie at best. I got bored and couldn't believe any of the characters. Frankly, the special effects weren't all that much.

This movie had nice animation, but what a waste: the story line felt used. It reminded me of Pocahontas or Fern Gully or something. Also, the characters didn't have enough depth to them.

Excellent special effects spoiled by a recycled storyline and even worse script. Very predictable, another American/human who saves the entire planet and indigenous people. Full of cheesy unoriginal cliches.

Thought this movie was totally overrated and not original at all. The script sucked and the blue people were just annoying.

Great visuals and effects, but thats simply all that Avatar has to offer. No story, viciously bad overacting and dialogue older than Sigourney Weaver herself. Very boring and far too long.

I've always been able to enjoy crap movies, so this isn't a total failure, for me. But for anybody else, except Titanic Lovers: This is to be avoided as it is one of the worst movies this century.

I can't understand how this movie got its high ratings. With any movie experience, the Story is completely predictable and dull. But it deserves 3 points for the great visuals.

Nice animation. Nothing else. Empty, banal, boring. Story is trite, characters lack of any complexity or psychological depth. Would you compare it with... Star Wars? Or Star Trek? Or Lord of the Rings?

Great FX, but not $400 million worth. If Cameron could set his ego aside and hire a real writer, it could have been great. Instead, it is plotless eye candy.

Good colors - but 2 1/2 hrs. of a futuristic cowboys and indians. Very predictable and 3-D wasn't anything. Not worth the hype or the time.

Why does Hollywood always portraits America and capitalism as bad. Doesn't this movie makes more money with capitalism? Typical story, America and the Marines are the bad guys that is what the movie is about.

Plot and subtext are juvenile, hackneyed, and annoying. After the first 90 minutes the appeal of the impressive visuals had been satiated and I was looking for the exit.

Visually, this film dazzles and amazes. Story- this film is an overly preachy and overly long and an overblown film. I really didn't like it at all. My opinion. There you go. Oh and the 3D, made me sick.

It was not very good. I wouldn't even watch it if i was paid too. The only cool thing about it is the live action vs actual people concept in the story. Its very bad though.

Unlikeable protagonist, thin characterizations, naive metaphorical comments on Iraq/environmentalism/imperialism, over-saturated colour palette and headache inducing 3D. Avatar is a juvenile, gimmick-fest. Sorry, but it's true.

Don't believe the rabid 12-year-old fanboys. If it weren't for the fact that this movie is in 3D, it would be mind-numbingly boring. How Cameron got anyone to fund this tripe is beyond me.
