A guilty pleasure and one of the best films of the year.
When Aimee and Jaguar gets on one of its frequent rolls, it can evoke memories of Bertolucci or even De Sica.
There's no denying the raw emotional power of this heart-rending story.

As a lesbian and as someone who lived in Germany as a child after the second world war, I found the emotional and national resonance of the film to be breathtaking. Everthing rings so true and at the same time so wonderously happy and so tragic. I cannot recommend a film more hightly.
