The blend of coming-of-age and coming-together in director Fernando Grostein Andrade’s film is a poignant one, regardless. The lessons Abe learns about life through Chico and his inventive cooking are made all the more beautiful by how tasty and colorful the food looks. And with Schnapp’s work in the title role, I found myself believing that a 12-year-old Brooklyn boy just might be able to solve the world’s thorniest conflict with an appetizer. Read full review

No es la primera vez que hacen una película sobre comida y el arte de prepararla. Aquí, el intercalar las diferencias entre Israel y Palestina se siente algo forzada; no es que sea mala, más bien le faltó algo de inspiración para que fuera mejor.

Like the other movie I saw a few hours ago, beyond the positive message, the simplicity of its handling really seems to be aimed at an audience that doesn't expect to question anything beyond the surface and that in one way or another ends up making it ultimately unnecessary.
