With A Taste of Hunger, it is clear that Boe loves food. The film celebrates the culinary arts, as the cinematography lovingly displays exquisite dishes that please the eye as much as the taste buds. He studies how light and sound may affect taste. His approach to gastronomy is as meticulous as the dishes his protagonist prepares. Read full review

Há alguns filmes que são feitos pra aguçar certa área sensorial de nosso cérebro, como as comédias para rirmos ou os filmes de terror para pregar sustos. Este filme aqui é o típico drama sensorial para ir degustando aos poucos, para sentir os desejos mais recônditos do casal principal.
AHá alguns filmes que são feitos pra aguçar certa área sensorial de nosso cérebro, como as comédias para rirmos ou os filmes de terror para pregar sustos. Este filme aqui é o típico drama sensorial para ir degustando aos poucos, para sentir os desejos mais recônditos do casal principal.
A começar que ambos têm um restaurante fino, então a câmera propositadamente ajuda a criar aquela atmosfera fina, cujo único erro na disposição da montagem do prato pode pôr tudo a perder. Então, o perfecncionismo e avida por aparências serão a tona dos personagens, vivendo uma vida burguesa para si e para os outros.
Então, não há de se estranhar o maneirismo aditado quando ocorre o adultério, primeiro porque foi de forma orgânica às pulsões gananciosas dos envolvidos e, segundo, para demonstrar que há um vazio em suas vidas não preenchidas pelos pratos de porcelana.
A vibrante fascinação pela medalha de seu restaurante é a típica busca pelo apaziguamento das emoções e o contorno que essa questão pode dar nas suas vidas pessoais, um escape. O trabalho, assim, é visto não como um fim em si mesmo, mas uma desculpa e, mais do que isso, uma capa protetora daquela elite hipócrita.
O mais interessante do filme é que as imagens falam por si, pouco haverá do didatismo. E o roteiro em si é trivial, até morno para que o filme apresenta, tinha calibre para muito mais. No entanto, a economia do filme fez fluir a história de forma a mostrar o essencial, e sem pressa, com muito talento e de forma competente pelo diretor Christoffer Boe.
Um ótimo trabalho de cena e um ótimo trabalho com os atores, e a contenção de excessos ou reviravoltas mirabolantes contribuiu para o ar visceral da obra.
Tem personalidade e força, além de ser muito bem filmado. então com certeza vale a sessão.… Expand

There were moments when this Danish story looked as if it might have offered more promise, but as it moves forward it loses vital pace - with too many pretentious asides, slotted within too many flashbacks. For a movie about food, very little of it looked particularly appetizing, and the script offers up somewhat trite situations to excuse several of its main character's rather foolish indulgences. While the cast works hard and some locations are good looking, overall it’s largely a disappointment, seeming to run twice as long as it actually did. The story quite heavily involves children, but with several suspect sex scenes, and crude dialogue throughout, it’s certainly not recommended for young viewers. One scene has the main couple's traumatized little daughter being offered intense personal counseling, but this takes the form of group therapy (rather unlikely in this situation). The screenplay seems to bite off more than it can chew but will be a time passer for some.… Expand
