Tetris is a great game on its own, but it does need some spice for the 21st century. Unfortunately, the "spice" THQ added for this addition doesn't taste good. I was terribly addicted to "The New Tetris" on the Nintendo 64 and this edition seemed like a promising evolution, but the gameplay changes have left me nothing but frustrated. One big ticket item: You can't play the "story mode" in multiplayer like in "The New Tetris". Part of the draw of modern Tetris games is the multiplayer. TNT had a magical blend that allowed you to continue making progress toward the greater goal while competing with your friends and recording your high scores. Tetris Worlds does nothing of the sort and leaves you with nothing to show for your efforts when you decide you've had enough for the night. Expand

If you like Tetris you will love Tetris World. "If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!" Just because it's not new and doesn't push the Xbox to the full doesn't mean that it's not still one of the most enjoyable and adictive games ever.

This is the WORST tetris game ever created. How could they screw up a tetris game? you might ask... I know, you'd think it would be challenging not to put out a decent product when using such a tried and true franchise. But SP Software somehow did it. The scary part is that the Xbox version is the best of the 3. (It includes the option to not use a couple of their horrible additions This is the WORST tetris game ever created. If you love Tetris you might like this game, everyone else will be bored and want a more rewarding experience, this really isn't as fun as Tetris it's a huge disappointment, but again if you like Tetris you might like this but I doubt it you'll probably just want to stick with regular Tetris.

Great game. The graphics are great, the control is smooth, and the gameplay works. Overall the best puzzle game on the Xbox I own. That is why I give this a 8/10

The biggest disappointment is the game's multiplayer mode; there's now way to send blocks or any manner of taunts to your opponent. For shame. [Fall 2002, p.121]
  2. Surprisingly, this game still manages to entertain, and is easily one of the best party games I still own.
  3. Give it time. Don't expect to love it if you're not a Tetris fan. But if you loved the original Tetris, then play this new addition for a while. Soon enough, you'll discover the beauty of the game.
