MattR.Apr 7, 2004This game is a blast... for about a day. Then, the repetitive gameplay and mind-numbing lack of true depth gets to you. Sure, there are tons of unlockable items, but there is no strategy to this game, there is no defense, only the same emphasis on offense. It's fun and arcady, but when CPU characters score every single time, regardless of your attempts at defense, it gets tiring. Rent first.

AndrewP.Jul 4, 2005I found the graphics to be quiet good along with a very good soundtrack. But as a huge basketball fan, I found the game tedious and tiresome. I was dissapointed with the game after all the pre-release hype. If, there is to be a sequel, i hope it is better.

Xbox Nation MagazineAn amazing sports game that plays like a song and has all the makings of a classic hit. [May 2004, p.89]

games(TM)Each confrontation is generally exactly the same and victory is sometimes dependent on whether the irritating catch-up AI decides to beat you or not. [Oct 2004, p.120]

Why couldn't Midway just have added the option to play full court two-on-two as well as the one-on-one? It just doesn't make sense.
