    Halo Ce changed the way video games are made and deserves a perfect 10. I'll be reviewing the game as if I was back in the era the game came out as comparing a game that came out 20 years ago to a game that came out today is not a fair comparison, Halo Ce was revolutionary and absolutely set the gaming world on fire, the story, ideas, gameplay, mechanics, weapons, vehicles, enemy's and theHalo Ce changed the way video games are made and deserves a perfect 10.     Combat Evolved is a game filled with brilliant and awe-inspiring. This game was so good it created the phrase halo killer.

    It's undeniable that this is one of the greatest- If not the greatest game of all time. But it's aged. The plot was solid but nothing special and I'm not the biggest fan of the combat, but I can tell how great it is. My main problem is the random spikes in difficulty that ruined a large portion of my play through. I understand I'm not the best at games. But there are plenty of hard games IIt's undeniable that this is one of the greatest- If not the greatest game of all time. But it's aged. The plot was solid but nothing special and I'm not the biggest fan of the combat, but I can tell how great it is. My main problem is the random spikes in difficulty that ruined a large portion of my play through. I understand I'm not the best at games. But there are plenty of hard games I enjoy. This is not one of them. In the library level, if you lose guilty spark, prepare to **** around for the next 30 minutes looking for him. And two betrayals is the worst level in any shooter I've ever played. Of course, I'm focusing on the negative because no one else does. These aspects are awful, sure. But everything else is great. In 2001? Greatest game of all time. In 2020? Jank.… Expand

    People Say Halo Combat Evolved did not age well, but they say Half-life aged well! Both games are great and masterpieces in their own genre, but halo combat evolved really helped half-life 2 to became a better game than the original.

    Unfortunately, i just have played this on 2020. The game don't grow old very well on the graphics or variety, but considering that the primal idea of the devs was a RTS, the game is surprisingly good.
    With very decent sonoplasty, the title lets us immerse in some moments in the story which is a little bit confusing in the begining, but very well written, with strong characters and simply    Unfortunately, i just have played this on 2020.     First off, the graphics stand up just fine. More than serviceable—quite good, considering when it was made. Also, the basic gameplay is generally very fun, as you would expect from Halo.     But the level design is atrocious, and I mean that in all its negative severity. There are very few quest markers, and when they are present, they don’t show you where to go, only where you need to end up. I spent just as much time enjoying the shooting as I did lost and frustrated, staring at the same hallways over and over, wondering where I was going wrong.

    And when I did find where I was supposed to be going, Halo CE took a dead halibut and slapped me in the face with it. This game is HARD, y’all. Between the Flood level that finds you frantically running from enemies spawning endlessly all around you, to chain grenade explosions that kill you without having done anything wrong, you will die a lot, so I hope you have an excellent podcast on, because you won’t want all your attention to be on this. It’s too frustrating.

    All of this, for a story that probably wasn’t particularly good even in its prime. You can see the twists and turns coming from last Tuesday (and I say that as a gamer who was somehow not previously spoiled).

    TL;DR : I do not recommend this game. The levels are confusing mazes, the gauntlets that the game makes you run are too daunting even on Normal difficulty, and the story was your average action movie you can stream on Netflix.    … Expand

    This game has not aged well. The first few levels were okay, the gameplay and the weapons weren't great, but each mission felt different. The story was alright as well, but once the flood gets introduced this game tanks in every way imaginable. The final mission in this is one of the worst missions ever put into a game. Maybe Halo was fun in 2001, but now it is not worth playing through.

    I like this game, but my big problems with it are difficulty and the second half. When it comes to difficulty, the absence of vehicle-jacking and dual-wielding ment it was harder for me to get past most encounters. While I generally don't like regenerative health, I wish there was at peast some pretty slow regenerative health, because it's abscence lead to so many deaths. When it comes toI like this game, but my big problems with it are difficulty and the second half. Also why do they choose that circular room to recycle out of all the rooms they could've? It's established that those rooms are meant to be generators for Installation 04, so going by that, Two Betryals should be at least a couple of hours long.… Expand

    When I first played combat evolved I was an 18 year old boy who did not play video games that much back then. But CE opened a whole world to me, it introduced me first person shooters, great visuals and story-telling and a balanced and perfect game play, And since then I can't stop playing it.

    no halo en su modo campaña peca de la monotonía sus misiones suelen ser repetitivas y hasta a veces injustas por las hordas de enemigos lo cual hace menos atractivo en el oniline no hay queja    halo a sido de los mayores representantes de los fps hasta la actualidad ya sea porque su historia de ciencia ficción o por su implementación del modo online y estos factores siguen vigentes en 2020?

    Revolutionary for first person shooters and the future of the Xbox. There's so much fun to be had with the combat this game offers. Together with the mystery of the halo ring as you continuously progress through the levels and the story with great moments such as the introduction of the flood it is a game you must play if you haven't played it.

    Hate me all you want but I think this is my second least favourite Halo game. It just feels way shorter than any other and is quite repetitive. Still a classic though.

    Halo Combat Evolved, the one that started it all is a game about Gameplay and story. When you finish it, it gives you a unique feeling. You have experienced this alien world. I love Halo CE and all the Halo games Up to Halo 5.

    One of the best games ever to be released up to date, the fact that a game like this reigns supreme after so many years just shows how much of the heart of the developers where poured into making this game. I still remember this game being my first ever game, and it is thanks to this game alone that I am a person who plays this up to this day in October of 2020.

    For me personally, Halo: Combat Evolved was the main reason to buy a Xbox console. Everything about this game from graphics to gameplay is nearly perfect. The campaign and soundtrack are groundbreaking and the multiplayer is unique. You have to check it out, no matter what genres you like!
