One of the greatest games I ever played. Great experience. Real adventure, great plot, great involvement. Cool characters. Buy it, play it.

Great graphics, and an engaging story. Fighting was enjoyable. Actually the graphics were really really good, and the story was done incredibly well. This is a must rental and definately worth considering adding to a collection - but I do have to say this - replayability is nil and it is kinda short - otherwise I would have given it a 10.

I'm just stingy about the marks I give to games but Beyond Good and Evil is probably the best game I've played yet in 2004. It's absolutely fantastic! At no point does it become entirely frustrating. Some people have complained it's too short but it could easily take about eighteen hours (or more) to fully complete. It's just so good it seems short because it is so enjoyable to play. Here's hoping we see a follow-up in the near future. Expand

A truely incredible game. The story is engaging from the start, the graphics set an imaginative atmosphere, the animation and cinematic presentation makes me feel like I'm in a movie. Loved the different elements that it contained. The ending leaves me wishing for a sequal. One of the Best games on the Xbox(which is saying alot)!

One of the greatest games I ever played. I couldn't stop playing. I also replayed the game twice, once with my 9 year old and once with my 6 year old. A game we could all play together.

It's got a great story and fun gameplay. It could use some more polish, and length though. Plus the characters are a little lame sometimes.

BG&E is one of the coolest looking and playing games I have ever played. It took me a while to get through it so I don?t know what all the complaints are about. For 20 bucks you can't go wrong.

A slendid cross between Zelda and Metal Gear Solid. Not only does this game look great, but its easy to learn the controls and the story will leave you wanting more.

Great story. Great original characters and plot. A lot of new innovative gameplay elements. Example of what an action/adventure game should be. The only hinderance would be with the frusterating "stealth/sneaking" mode...some minor camera issues. Can't wait for part 2.

This is a good game, however, you should rent it because it takes only a MAXIMUM of 7 hours. The game is fun but its not fulfilling because there are no sidequests (you don't need to collect all 88 This is a good game, however, you should rent it because it takes only a MAXIMUM of 7 hours. Don't buy the game as its a less than 8 hours game making it a RENT ONLY. Its good but needs to be longer. Perhaps, Beyond Good And Evil 2 will be longer. P.S. Can someone elaborate on why the title was called Beyond Good And Evil because you act as a good person throughout the whole game. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So back in 2012 we bought a refurbished XBOX and slowly been getting cheap console exclusives. In many cases cheaper than online distribution services and even when not I don't like everything tied to the internet. Anyway played and Almost (we'll get there) finished. Beyond Good and Evil and yeah I can see why it got a cult follow it's Wind Waker but in Space, seriously though the picture quest was much better integrated. And things where going good until the Slaughterhouse; Stealth Sections are cow poop. You do not have instant kills mazes + twitchy AI + non-linear progression. No joke I soft-locked my first play-though because you can in fact going into the section in the wrong order, which as a reminder has been fine for most of this game. So you have to go though the door that you cannot stealth because you where supposed to go the other way. What didn't you read the developers mind? oh well make a new save. My playtime was 2 hours and 10 up to that point, when I was finally done with the Slaughterhouse it was 7 hours 10 and the (almost) finally clock was 8 hours. I'm going to guess the Developer's did this to pad the run time because the developers couldn't release a game that was 4hrs long in 2003. The ending level was nice, cinematic and easy, For a moment I remembered why I liked this game, Then the Final stage of the Final Boss happened to throw it all away, becoming a trinity of pure bovine excrement.
Visual information and reaction time slows, annoying but for the Final Boss fine.
Reversing the controller inputs, personal pet peeve but fine.
Have to do things in a rapid sequence or else it fails, actual not a pet peeve.
All At Once, however is toxic so I watched the ending online. Yeah that ending no wonder this games got people still calling for a sequel to this day. So I'm going to complete the photo gallery from an earlier save, then I'm done. Final rating 6/10 stars the good parts are good but they are not the actual playing part of the game, which is serviceable at best. However the Beyond Good & Evil lives not in cut-scenes but in an audio sphere that makes this world feel alive, in a way that even most cinematic AAA game can't match today adding to peoples nostalgia.

  1. The cartoonish environment, though small, abounds with hidden desirables and fine detail-blaring propaganda, rich reflections and shadows, site-specific music, assorted visual gags-and even minor characters, unlike Paris and Ashton, possess crisp, individual personalities.

Beyond Good & Evil is a gaming masterpiece, blending together light combat, stealth, platform action, puzzle solving and racing to form a compelling gameplay mix, tied together with a terrific story and wrapped up in gorgeous visuals and audio.
