    A solid foundation and one of the best hunting sims of all time but needs work. I played over 35 hrs so far and here’s what you need to know: It’s not COTW and it’s not trying to be.     It’s not COTW and it’s not trying to be. This is much more realistic and very much it’s own thing. As soon as I stopped comparing the two and playing this as it’s meant to be played ( as a realistic hunting sim) I had a blast.. COTW is a better video game but this is a better hunting game. If you don’t have the patience and determination for real hunting you will most likely hate this game. You need to know what your game is, it’s behavior, and it’s territory before even leaving the lodge. If you sprint around and make noise your prey is long gone and the map will always seem empty. The overall gameplay is amazing. The graphics lack the jazzy lighting and effects of COTW and admittedly they need to work on optimization big time for this. Pop in is terrible! If they support it, patch it up, and listen to the community it could be huge new alternative to COTW. Also note that this is NOT a great multiplayer game just like real hunting. You sit in the woods and listen to noises for long periods of time and slowly creep up on the animals. Concentration is key and a party game this is not.    … Expand

    Ok, have played this game for about 20 hours until now, just uninstalled it and made a refund request because of all the bugs. Cotw all over again!! But the game have potential, absolutely!! Missions are fun, the maps awsom, the animal behaviour and so on

    This game is got to be the worst game I have ever bought. It takes a long while to do all the stupid pointless crap the game wants you to do before you can even start to hunt. Your character gets emails about how disgusting he is for hunting not to contact his kids because he hunts and is a trash then game still makes ypu do crap before ypu can even hunt and is not at all close to beingThis game is got to be the worst game I have ever bought.     this game is amazing...its not for everyone but it has tremendous potential...i have played for 200 hours and i have to say i look forward every day to go hunting for new animals and be amazed what i will find... in the beginning the game had many bugs but they are working very well to fix it and currently it is already very good.. if you are looking for a game to immerse yourself in andthis game is amazing...its not for everyone but it has tremendous potential...i have played for 200 hours and i have to say i look forward every day to go hunting for new animals and be amazed what i will find... in the beginning the game had many bugs but they are working very well to fix it and currently it is already very good.. if you are looking for a game to immerse yourself in and relax and collect your victories this is the game for you.. nature and sensations that it makes you feel are unique… Expand

    Way of the Hunter is a slow-paced but engrossing hunting simulation title. With beautiful scenery, stunning animals, and plenty of fantastic mechanics, this oozes realism. If you want a fulfilling and deep experience, then look no further.

    With grandfather having fallen ill, someone has to take care of the hunt cabin even if there are some who don not agree with it. It’s the Way of the Hunter season. Time to shoot some deers.

    For all of the things I enjoyed about Way of the Hunter, I was constantly reminded about all of the issues and bugs along the way. There’s some great ideas here, and while it may be a bit basic with its weapon choices and handful of animals to hunt, there’s quite a feeling to be had when you finally track down your kill after spending the last hour attempting to and about to give up. With some polish and patches I could see Way of the Hunter being quite immersive and fun to play alongside friends, it’s just a shame that it’s currently held back by a plethora of issues that frustrate. I have no doubt this will improve in time, but in its current state, Way of the Hunter will absolutely reward the dedicated fans that can overlook its numerous shortcomings and have a mountain size of patience. For the rest of us, you’re going to become more than frustrated and have hours with little to no progress.
