Sep 10, 2025TRIANGLE STRATEGY is a deep and rewarding tactical RPG that rewards patience and curiosity. To see everything will require at least three playthroughs, but there is a New Game Plus to assist with that. And on those repeat playthroughs, at least you can skip those cutscenes; they are plentiful, and perhaps too many.

Sep 11, 2025Triangle Strategy’s story and characters aspire for mature, player-driven storytelling. The branching paths, moral grayness, and debate-driven plot deliver moments of brilliance, making Norzelia feel alive and treacherous. However, the sluggish pacing and uneven character focus come off like the writer loves his own voice too much. It’s a tale worth experiencing for its ambition, but one that could’ve cut deeper with more restraint and polish. The nitty-gritty of the combat and customisation will keep gamers enthralled, and while it doesn't reach the heights of the genre's best, fans of the classics will find there is a lot to love here.

Sep 26, 2025Triangle Strategy excels in the two key aspects of its genre: story and tactics. While the combat system does not allow for unlimited customisation of units, it does not fall into the trap of trying to reinvent the wheel at all costs. The mechanics are classic and solid, making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Aside from its combat system, it is the story that makes it worthwhile. You can have a real impact on the latter with different paths and, above all, it does not treat players like idiots. Add to that a sublime setting (if you are not allergic to HD-2D): Triangle Strategy has earned its place among the great J-RPGs.
