This game has so so much potential and was absolutely ruined by poor in game camera angles. When you are inside monuments, they severely restrict how you can move the camera which literally makes beating some areas, such as the Twyn monument, impossible because you need to make 3D jumps and cannot judge the distance or height of objects. I cannot recommend this game because of the unfairness created by the poor camera design. Expand

Beautiful and interesting mini game. The puzzles are interesting, as are the dialogues. The mechanics could have been better. The position of the camera is bad, especially in monuments, for some reason it cannot be rotated 360 degrees. A recommendation for relaxed gaming, especially since the game is in Game Pass.

Lepa i zanimljiva mini igra.

An upbeat and charming experience, The Touryst is a small but enjoyable game about exploring different holiday islands, talking to NPCs, fulfilling quests and completing challenges, all while investigating a mystery.

The story is simple and direct, and with light puzzles to solve, and is never too taxing. Though there may be some slight frustrations with the 3D platforming in some instances as the camera can be restrictive; in some interior spaces you can only pan left to right, making it difficult to judge depth.

Visually stunning on the Xbox Series X, the art style and beautiful lighting compliment each other very well, with all the islands managing to be distinct from each other. A catchy soundtrack joins you on your adventure providing a cheerful backdrop to your holiday.

Played on Xbox Game Pass, for around 8 hours. Would recommend to anyone, particularly if on sale.

Overall, this is a fun game but obviously targeted at players looking for a more casual puzzle experience that can be played at their own pace. Definitely a good game for when you’ve got a limited amount of time to kill but don’t want to commit to anything time consuming.

The Touryst is a great mini-adventure that has a diverse set of puzzles to complete, packed in with charm and style. The minimalistic approach ensures the player doesn't get too distracted by anything else and the fetch quest style of missions ensures that full exploration of the small environments is put to full use. There are moments where some background music would be welcome, even if the design choice was to make it more 'atmospheric' to not have it. Visually, The Touryst looks crisp and bright, and those with HDMI 2.1 Televisions and an Xbox Series X will enjoy a buttery smooth 4K at 120fps. Those looking for a relaxing and fun 5 hour puzzle-adventure should look no further.

A colourful, vibrant adventure that’s sure to stand out as a true family-friendly option for the next-gen. The platforming feels imperfect when needed the most thanks to limited camera control, however, The Touryst’s puzzles are bound to keep you on your toes throughout. Be sure to soak up the sun, explore at your leisure, and uncover monumental secrets in this unexpected gem.
