    Medium is a great game, for the most part I really enjoyed it.

    The downsides were that it was very slow paced - for a lot of it the character was slowly walking through the coridors. There was a run option but it wasn't much faster than the slow paced walking. The game only leads you one way and locks you in the areas so you don't get a lot of freedom in that sense. The puzzles were    Medium is a great game, for the most part I really enjoyed it.

    The video bits were quite long as well, sometimes I wasn't sure if I was playing a game or watching a movie. I think the the proportions there are 50/50.

    Back to focusing on positives - the storyline is great and the graphics are amazing. The feel of the whole place was fantastic. I would love another Medium game from the creators - maybe the characters could move a tiny bit faster though? :)    … Expand

    Lo esperé con mucha ansia hasta que salió en el Game Pass. Tenía mucho hype, pero al acabarlo me quedé a medias. Aunque gráficamente llama la atención, las mecánicas son muy simples y la historia es mediocre.

    Amazing game. Absolutely blown away. If your a fan of Silent Hill then your in for a treat. My kids got me this for Christmas and I'm enjoying it immensely. On PS5 you get the visual upgrade compared to the XboxSeriesX version and the Haptic feedback immersion. A must play.

Magnificient settings, beautiful scenery, heartbreaking story, and the dual screen mechanic is clever though underexploited. the overall game could have gone further than its globally basic gameplay and that's what keeps it from a higher rating.     It's a bit complicated. The game was not what I expected. It wasn't nearly as scary as I hoped, nor did I didn't find a ton of mystery or reasons to revisit. But overall, It was a great story told through a simple and short playthrough.

    Двойной мир - отличная идея, которая просто не работала. Через час разработчики отправляют вас в "другой мир" без этого разделенного экрана и полностью уничтожают свою собственную функцию. Bloober Team has created a uniquely oppressive atmosphere that lends itself well to the dark and mature story they're telling, and they tell it surprisingly well. The voice actors all do a stellar job in portraying their characters and conveying the varying emotions that drive the story. The major selling point of The Medium, that being the split world is beautifully portrayed. Both the real and spirit world are stunning to look at, as if they were taken straight from the paintings of Zdzislaw Beksinski. There are however some moments in the game where textures take too long to load that did take me out of the experience slightly but this can be excused as the game is also trying to render two synced worlds at once. Another immersion breaker but one that can also be overlooked is the facial animations that do appear quite stiff in most circumstances, this is however a AA game so I can understand. Probably the biggest letdown for me was the gameplay side of things. I would've appreciated at least a little bit of combat and more interaction with the world. There are moments throughout that just had me running back and forth that would have been enriched further with some combat, possibly against smaller enemy types, but this is just my opinion. To end on a more positive note, I must say another big standout of the game was the music and sound design. It managed to be both haunting and emotional, it did after all come from a legendary composer. Overall, The Medium pleasantly surprised me and I hope that this victory from Bloober Team means that they aren't done with the world of The Medium. There's so much potential for a sequel that I hope is coming.… Expand

Не ожидал от игровой студии, которая должна ориентироваться на обычных игроков и то, чтобы дарить людям хорошие эмоции…что студия будет наказывать обычных людей за решения принятые правительством! Раз игровая студия решила вмешаться в политику, то и оценку она получит не за игру!Всегда считал, что игры вне политики!     Jugué la versión de series s y va muy fluida a excepción de 2 partes donde si se caía el Frame como a 10 fps, sin embargo es una experiencia buena, ya hacia falta un juego lineal que contara una buena historia.

    Fazit: Das Spiel eignet sich gut für den Einstieg ins Horror-Genre. Wer mit einigen technischen und spielerischen Schwächen leben kann, ist damit gut bedient.

    The game is similar to Resident Evil or Control, but without weapons. Therefore, you don't have to pay attention to resource management. The camera angle/view is always fixed. There are several puzzles, but they are not that hard to solve (except at the end).

    - high resolution objects are reloaded
    - Transitions cutscenes to gameplay too choppy (ingame character animations are pretty stiff).
    - Some moments of ambiguity, for example you have to flee from an enemy a split second after the cutscene and you die right away. This happens several times until you understand what the game wants from you.
    Conclusion: The game is well suited for an entry into the horror genre. If you can live with some technical and gameplay weaknesses, you will be well served.    … Expand

The opening and ending were strong in terms of story, but everything in between was a long stretched adventure tied together by collectables and short sequences.     Eu detestei o jogo, de longe um dos piores jogos do xbox game studios que Eu Já Vi , Um Jogo de 8° geração de Vídeo Game não consegue manter em 60 fps , a jogabilidade é lamentável a câmera não me agrada é quando abre a tela dos 2 mundos o fps despenca pra 20 fps a imagem vai pra 2K E não tem nenhum momento com ray tracing realmente lamentavel

En cuanto a la jugabilidad me hubiese gustado mayor atención a los movimientos del personaje al desplazarse por escaleras y un poco más rápido al trotar.     I played this game with the game pass and i have to say, it made me feel warm inside. It's very reminiscent of the original Silent Hill games, with its genius concept, creepy atmosphere and story, and the FIXED CAMERA ANGLES. I'll admit those were kind of frustrating at times, and some of the Save points weren't placed at the best of moments. But overall I had a great experience, and II played this game with the game pass and i have to say, it made me feel warm inside. It's very reminiscent of the original Silent Hill games, with its genius concept, creepy atmosphere and story, and the FIXED CAMERA ANGLES. I'll admit those were kind of frustrating at times, and some of the Save points weren't placed at the best of moments. But overall I had a great experience, and I would recommend this game if you are a fan of good old survival horror.… Expand

    Looks great but the gameplay is basically a heavy rain meets code veronica but not as good. Story starts off a little creepy but just ends up becoming tedius. Played it free on gamepass and I still don't recommend.

    The Medium handles the dual screen quite well and I was a bit skeptical about it but pleasantly surprised that they handled it well.

    As for the cons: 30 fps, in between screen glitches take a point away.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A fun game. I only played this since it was free on gamepass and supposed to show of the series x graphics. It looked at times, mostly it just looked like a last gen game. There were a lot of cheap deaths where the controls were just not responsive enough or it wasnt obviouse where you could move which was annoying. This is more of a 7.5 than an 8 to me. For the most part the story flowed smoothly with logical puzzles that could be solved. A few times i looked at guides when i was stuck since i dont like wasting time, i think it was the tanks and one other point. There were several times where i got stuck due to movement (running away etc.) Although the game was creepy at times, it never really delivered on true "jump out of your seat" scares. Its more of a sci fi, adventure puzzler.

    Worth playing if you have a series x, there's not much else to push its power at the moment. Its not a game of the year game though, something to play after you finish the games you really want to play.    … Expand

    Один из интереснейших пройденных мною проектов за последнее время и этот год. На удивление затянула и очень понравилась данная игрушка. Не хоррор ни разу. Это скорее бродилка. Очень приятная, красивая бродилка. К прохождению любителей    Играл на старте.     100% Recomendado , he de decir que no esperaba nada de él y me tiene enganchado.
    Jugado en una Xbox Series X en un LG SM 9800 de 55" y terminada la historia principal.

    Although I've played all of bloober teams since layers of fear I haven't been a big fan of their work. Generally I find their games get a little repetitive after a while and I encounter issues like annoying chase scenes.

    I went in to the medium with low expectations but I have to say this is a big improvement. It's visually their most impressive game.     Que mal aprovechado está el juego, es una buena propuesta y es muy interesante pero está muy mal ejecutado, la cámara es horrible, el gameplay aburre, es curioso que lo que más entretiene son las cinemáticas, puzzles horribles que cansan mucho el juego, pudo ser mucho mejor

    5 hours long which I like. But I had to motivate myself to play it a lot. Not the most fun game. A LOT of cutscenes. Probably 40 minutes worth making this 4 and a bit hours. Would I play the sequel if there was one? No. Overall 4/10. Not the worst game in the world and thank god it’s short. Had a good idea but it didn’t translate into fun gameplay.    … Expand

    Come for the genre. Stay for the story. I’d wanted to play an old school tank controls game but the Cold War setting is put to magnificent use. It’s horrifying and heartbreaking at the same time. Uncovering what lies at the heart of this tragedy is what kept me going. It’s a shame that reviews from both users and journos completely ignore just how good the story is. WhatThe Medium is without a doubt one of the best horror games I've ever played. In this chilling and mysterious journey, you explore an abandoned resort to learn not only what caused the massacre in the past, but also the lost memories of your own past. Along the way you encounter spirits, demons, and so much more as you try to solve the mysteries of the world and survive it's horrors. What makes this game unique is the screen often splits into two as you're playing allowing you to control Marianne in both the real world and the purgatory-like world, which adds a very unique element unlike any game I've ever played. The music in this game, created by the Silent Hill composer, is also absolutely wonderful and really helps carry the journey from beginning to end. If I have only one complaint it's that the character models sometimes load a little oddly which can really break immersion, but this is a minor gripe of a beautiful game. With compelling puzzles, heart-racing survival moments, and so many mysteries the game was nearly impossible to put down, this game is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys a good physiological horror.… Expand

    The Horror genre is probably the hardest to get right. Despite what I expected going into this, it became more of a mystery with ambience than an outright horror, but I actually enjoyed it more because of this. The story surprised me - it has depth, intrigue and emotion. It takes a while to get completely invested, but it pays off towards the crescendo. I was desperate to progress the story and dive further into the world, and felt that the game would've benefited with less of those instances of trying to force player input for the sake of it. Even the stealth sequences with The Maw felt a little awkward from a gameplay perspective, despite nailing the atmosphere and tension. I do understand that the "walking simulator" style of games isn't for everyone though.    … Expand

    Das Spiel war von der Atmosphäre absolut großartig und das ist auch die Stärke des Spiels. Das Gameplay wiederum ist eher "langweilig".

    To be honest I don't expect anything from Microsoft (The quality of the games has gone down a lot) The first hours starts well, but then you start to get bored a lot. The soundtrack I loved, the game mechanics are limited, the camera is very problematic, level of detail (Basic), Graphics (Basic) and History (Boring). I DO NOT RECOMMEND

    Great story telling with a varied puzzle like game play combined with a walking simulator of sorts. The game catches you and doesn't let you out until the whole story is told, the only thing its letting it back is the lack cluster game play mechanics

Other than being somewhat short, the story doesn't have a lot going for it. Things happen without much explanation and I was never able to connect with any of the characters.

    The game also uses a technology that allows you to see two dimensions at once using a split screen. While I read somewhere that this is groundbreaking technology, it just feels gimmicky and unnecessary. It does show you how silly the protagonist looks talking to the air in the real world. But they easily could have done without it.

    For the most part, the puzzles and levels are pretty bland. There is one level in the Red House toward the end that was done very well, but the rest are very forgettable.

    Slow running is also a real problem for me in video games. I see the reason for it in a horror-type game, but it was still irritating none the less.

    Overall, not a recommendation. Better to play the older Silent Hill or Resident Evil games instead.    … Expand

    This is a really great game and people who say otherwise probably didn't get far into the game itself. Yeah there were some artifacting on certain parts of the game when I played it pre patched but other than that I think it was a masterpiece storywise. It's one of those games that messes with your mind.

    The graphics and world rendering are excellent, the story is quite interesting and the audio is fitting.     Its so bored. The mechanics are very rough, the moments where you get scared are few, the only one that really scared me was the one in the bathtub, the others were not intense. It takes a long time to get somewhere because you walk very slowly, you don't run. When you are in both worlds it looks horrible

    Despite clunky animations, repetitive gameplay and some technical issues with the Xbox Series X version, I completed The Medium twice. Its dual-reality design, art direction and brilliant soundtrack often made me stop to take in a view or relish the music. Its mature story and atmosphere reminiscent of Silent Hill helped a lot too.     The exclusive Microsoft - The Medium is yet another significant milestone in the catalogue of psychological horror games from Bloober Team, which is increasingly becoming one of the best studios in this area. Without hiding where it comes from, it's an experience horror fans won't want to miss, no matter how short. The duality approach is interesting and has enormous potential. I hope that the Bloober Team will get to work on it again and develop it more in-depth.
