Ten Dates does many things well. For a reasonably cheap title, it has a high-quality look to it, the acting is at the same level as I would expect from a television drama and the gameplay is very inclusive. Interactive movie games have come a long way in the last couple of years and this one is no exception. Of course, it is no ‘Immortality’ but that game has to be considered the zenith of this genre. It may overstay its welcome in the end, but fans of the first game will have a lot of fun playing this. Are Twenty Dates on the horizon? Only time will tell.

For me, director Paul Raschid’s The Complex is still the ultimate example of the live-action gaming genre, and while Ten Dates didn’t quite grab me as much as that title, it’s still a very decent interactive adventure. More inclusive and with a fuller, more robust cast than Five Dates, fans of Wales’ other titles would do well to check this out.

View it as a high concept rom-com, or buy into the earnest and endearing attempts to bring modern dating to your living room, and Ten Dates might become more than your new best friend. We fell in and out of love with its scrappy cast, and would happily live in a world where we get these once every couple of years.
