    A bit more than average jRPG ... but i'm taking it down a nudge because of their greedy MTX... i did a lot of side quests and story and suddenly last area mobs are +10~15 levels higher than you... begging you to go to their MTX store and purchase boosters. There are better jRPGs out there... maybe buy on sale...

    The game would have gotten so much better score if it ended on Act 1 and wrapped up the story there. Unfortunately the whole Act 2 is a absolute slog with nonsensical endless dialogue and eye rolling anime **** Such a screw up for a genuinely nice story that kept me intrigued for about 40 hours. Also why the hell do the main characters never shut up during fights? It gets old real fast.

    My first tales game and I was impressed! Graphics were nice and the colours pop. After playing the demo I knew I had to get this game. The story is presented well but it is the bond/relationship of the characters that really push this game to being great. I love the dynamic of Shionne and Alphen, and seeing those two become close was a treat. All the supporting characters had greatMy first tales game and I was impressed!     I bought it on launch because I really liked the demo, and considering some of the bugfests which were released late last year, it's incredible how well this game works on release. It looks great, the gameplay is a lot of fun, the characters are well designed, the banter amongst them is often funny and the game gives a lot of content/playtime.

    Levelling is a bit slow, but the game offers options to speed that up. I had two freezes during skits, but the game autosaves often and loading is quick on Series S/X. So it's not perfect, but it's certainly my favourite game in a long time and I'm eager to play more games like it. Highly, highly recommended and would be well deserving of a GOTY award in my opinion!    … Expand

    The best game of the Tales series yet! I loved the new graphic style, the best music in the series so far and the story is a must play. The new combat system is also great and easy to learn.

    Smashing Graphics, great combat system that feels new yet familiar to the Tales Series, fantastic story-line and ability to remap buttons at will. The English voice acting is actually subpar for a Tales series unfortunately, however it's good enough of just change it if you want. This game is a must for Tales fans and a great entry point for new players as well.

    Great emotional story. A little long for my taste, but aside from that, great combat and fantastic story. If you are an action JRPG fan, this is a must buy. If you dont like JRPGs, then this game wont be for you.

    The best game of the Tales series. Nice characters, cool music and very good story and gameplay. A must play for JRPG fans.

    On the whole, "Tales of Arise" can be seen and played on the consoles. The storyline and the dialogs are very appealing and are fun to play. The various battles run smoothly and a bit of an overview is lost in places. This is accompanied by great graphics and an excellent sound. Fans of the franchise and the genre should definitely take a look at "Tales of Arise". Since a purchase isOn the whole, "Tales of Arise" can be seen and played on the consoles.     G.O.T.Y have played most of the Tales of franchise games and this one is my favorite
    Highly recommend this game there is so much fun content - collecting owls, fishing, cooking, raising livestock farming, side quests, costumes, and etc

Listen to your AI companions yell at you every time they use an ability. Pay $60 for the game and then get poked in the eye every few minutes to buy stuff from the store giving me cheap eastern MMO p2wNice graphical style.     I havent beaten it yet, but so far its quite fun. I just wish the open world enemies could just engage in combat without going into a mini circle arena. They should have just did a FF 15 combat approach in my opinion. Voice acting is great especially in Japanese, English is good too just can't March thr lips with the world's spoken.

    I really enjoyed the game. Probably the best storyline in the Tales series. However, I think the gameplay mechanics need to improve as it's already getting dated. An RPG that presupposes exploration full of invisible walls doesn't work anymore. I think the series needs to migrate soon to a more ARPG style, like Scarlet Nexus.

    I enjoyed my time with arise. This is a series I could never quite get into but the new art style really impressed me. I think the combat, beautiful environments and excellent story/characters/voice acting made this a good rpg for sure.

    The biggest drawback though is that while the dialogue is often great, sometimes there's an insane amount of it and you're stuck watching cutscenes for    I enjoyed my time with arise. This is a series I could never quite get into but the new art style really impressed me. I think the combat, beautiful environments and excellent story/characters/voice acting made this a good rpg for sure.

    The biggest drawback though is that while the dialogue is often great, sometimes there's an insane amount of it and you're stuck watching cutscenes for far too long. You'll get a cutscene when you get to a bridge, watch it, cross the bridge and then boom.. another cutscene. They should have edited this down for sure. The last section of the game is just horrendous for dialogue. Hours and hours of dialogue and cutscenes without that much gameplay to balance it out. I like the story but it's hard to really care when they keep throwing so much of it at the player.

    Aside from that... day one dlc including level boosters... that sucks big time.    … Expand

It was so serious and emotional up until that, then suddenly I feel like I'm watching an anime XXX video (which is sooooo not my thing).

    It’s simply 10/10. I won’t accept anything lower.

    I want to be YOU if you haven’t finished the game. Someone please brainwash me. I want to experience this game one more time. Masterpiece. Brilliant. It’s the best game of 2021 nothing else.

    I m at 37hrs of game and i can say that Is One of the best jrpg games i ever played..the combat sistem in particular reminds me of star Ocean the last hope

    I finally finished the game and I had a blast playing it. I love the anime cutscenes and ingame graphics are also great. The gameplay kept me hooked and the story was awesome.

    Muy buena historia, con buenos protagonistas, con un rendimiento gráfico, casi constante a 60fps en series X, en modo calidad. Me ha encantado, para ser el primer tales que me termino. Muy recomendable.

    The best tales games since symphonia. The Story is very satisfying, even the ending and the characters are mostly well writen. Yes, There are cons, the sidequest are mostly the same, the Ki is a little bit dumb and maybe the Story isnt as good as on the first look qhen you thuink about it. But in the end it was the first game in years i realy wanted to finish. And after the credits thereThe best tales games since symphonia. A história é maravilhosa, os personagens e suas interações são bem construídas, a jogabilidade é espetacular, trilha sonora incrível e os gráficos estão belíssimos. Só pecou no fator replay, com 70 horas eu já fiz 100%, esperava que fosse durar um pouco mais, mas isso não muda o fato de eu ter amado demais a experiência queNão posso negar que esse jogo me surpreendeu em todos os aspectos.     The story progresses at a decent pace, when it hits you with a massive plot dump towards the end. The end maps could have been cleared through a 20 minute walk, but there has to be a couple of hours of plot dumping squeezed in there. Decent tales combat system, very anime presentation, enjoyable.

    The gameplay, graphics, controls, storyline, characters and it's huge open world are so beautiful and immersive. I highly recommend Tales Of Arise to everyone. It's definitely one of the Best RPGs I've ever played.

    Up until the half of the game it was some big but forgivable flaws, but I feel those flaws become the entire game after that half is done. Characters talk WAY too much, the story advances slowly, and everything just becomes completely unappealing. The combat is fun but it quickly becomes a shore, quests are boring,    I thinks this truly doesn't deserve the good scores it has gotten.

    excellent RPG japonnais.
    Une histoire classique mais bien construite avec quelque rebondissement, pour tenir le joueur.
    Quelque scène d'animation digne des meilleurs animés. excellent durée de vie (pour moi 74H en faisant des quêtes secondaires.) et une superbe re-jouabilté post-end-game et un new game plus.

    Un juego que evoluciona en lo grafico y jugable. Pero carece de trama relevante, aburre en sus mazmorras, reciclaje de enemigos y misiones secundarias aburridas e irrelevantes.

    Conclusión. El juego cumple en gráficos pero carece de alma, cuesta enganchar con la trama y si no fuera por su nuevo formato de combate, costaría bastante completarlo.

    Great game, could have more side quests, those classical nonsense pick up 20 chickens, the end of the world can wait. Its a really good game, i just wish it could be longer

    The real test of whether or not Tales of Arise is for you will be in your desired level of investment, because the requirement for here, is nothing shy of massive. But what you get is a charming game built from tentpole JRPG, anime and manga tropes, glammed up the wazoo, and pegged down with a solid fighting and combat system, stunning animations, a unique art-style and maybe the best presentation in the series yet. I for one loved my time with the game, even at its cringiest, because the payoff for growth in power and the game’s pure characterisation is worth watching the handful of Alphen skits being a big dumb idiot.

    Tales of Arise is not only now my favorite Tales game to date, even surpassing my beloved Vesperia, it’s easily in my top 3 JRPG’s of all time, deserving to be compared to and alongside the best of the genre, and hands down my Game of the Year pick for 2021 without any hesitation. A compelling and complex story, wonderful character development, addictive combat, plenty of side activities to partake in like fishing or farming, stunning visuals and perfect audio are just a few reasons I can’t recommend it enough. Tales of Arise was an unforgettable masterpiece that I’ll surely play through again on NG+ eventually and anyone that’s a JRPG fan needs to play, the sooner the better.
