I do not recommend the Xbox Series X version of this game. The UI look very low resolution and the performance is bad compared to the PS5 version. I feel they really did a poor effort with the Xbox version.

Most japanese rpg sell mostley in america for the xbox , not uk,asia, or other countries over seas because they prefer there games on pc,ps, or switch which has been that way since the ps4 and switch began. Even if the xbox do get good japanese rpgs, they will always sell more on switch and ps, cause the xbox is still a console impacting mostley in america, not overseas, which is straight facts. Now welfarepasser dude dont waste your breath on xbox related revews keep them toward the switch and ps, also I understand what you are trying to say and it is true, however keep in mind that people dont know how to do a background check and are quick to call you a troll. Now for my review when you post in this section. This game is descent however like the previous star ocean games it still remains inferior, however it is way better than integrity of fate, which still remains as the worsest star ocean game in the series The ones on ps1,ps2, and psp are the best, however sadly this title has some improvements than the previous titles, but not fully story, plot, and performance wise. Despite some cringe translation/localization issues, triace really released one of the best jrpgs of this generation. A good remembrance of the good XBOX360 days when we had Star Ocean The Last Hope coming out on the 360 console. It also runs well on both Xbox S and X

Great game I really loved it.
    the +
    - battle system
    - script
    - lifetime
    - we want to play the other opuses of the saga

    The lessers
    - a little aliasing (but it's not annoying)
-drops in fps (but it's not annoying either)

I highly recommend this game if you are curious, it is available on PS4/PS5, XBOX one/ serie XS & PC on steam

This game has an amazing plot, likeable characters with developed personalities, and a memorable art style. The ending will stick with you for a very long time. I cannot give a 9.9 so a 10 shall suffice.
Thank you for reading my review.

One of my favorite JRPGs in a while. That being said, the game does fall short in several areas.

Graphics: First, there are the graphics. I did not feel like I was playing a game on the Xbox Series S. It felt much more like a game from 2 generations ago. That being said, the graphics were fine but not phenomenal. Story: I enjoyed the story and the characters. Motivations did not make
One of my favorite JRPGs in a while.

Motivations did not make sense to me at times, but it came together overall.

Pacing: This is probably my biggest hangup with the game. The beginning of the game was great. The enemies were fun to fight. I was trekking through open areas and finding loot and D.U.M.A points. Then I hit a point where the game was mostly dialogue and very linear progression. Had I started the game in the back half, I wouldn't have finished it. Worse, the game can be completely broken through the crafting system. They really needed to flesh that out more before releasing it.

Combat: This was my favorite part of the game. While there isn't a lot of depth, (which is a good thing when so many JRPGs have incredibly convoluted combat), you are free to invest in whichever skills you wish to use and combo them how you see fit. The D.U.M.A also lets you dash into combat and blindside enemies temporarily stunning them. Your skill usage is governed by how much AP you have, and your AP bar increases or decreases based on you taking damage and blindsiding enemies. This can be frustrating at times as during boss fights your AP gauge will likely be at a minimum--and that is when you need high AP the most!

This is an enjoyable game, and I do recommend it. However, it definitely could have been better.

This game is awsome, I loved the characters and story, combat is great, it's a Jrpg that has the heart and imagination of the old days of gaming, with modern graphics, combat and progression...It was refreshing to genuinely like and care about the characters, in many modern western games the characters and do cringe, preachy or just unlikable. Japan is really keeping gaming great for me.

The story starts slow, but picks up pace, and the combat is fun, so Star Ocean The Divine Force does enough to get a decent mark in my book, without ever threatening to set the world on fire.

Star Ocean The Divine Force is a pure action JRPG experience that takes the original formula of the saga and updates many of the sections to provide the user with a fairly decent role-playing game. However, it is not safe from technical failures, since on many occasions, the action in combat does not work as expected.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force soars through the stars, carried by the gentle breeze of a great combat system and a world of possibilities.
