Was so excited for this game. I’m a HUGE fan of the persona series, I love Shin megami tensei games from 2 all the way till current ones, I even like Tokyo Mirage FE which is an amazing spin off, However..This one from the very beginning I knew it would be tremendous trouble. First off the file size on the series X is a whopping 1.8gb…Let that soak in, For what’s labeled as an “RPG” i don’t need beautiful graphics in a game to find things to love about them, But there is NOTHING salvageable about them. Ugly character designs with HORRIFIC level layouts filled with generic crates. It wants to be Persona so bad that it fails to find its own identity, It feels like a different Developer and publisher tried to imitate the success of the persona series and fell flat on its face, Save your money and look elsewhere because honestly, This game could’ve passed as a digital only title for $20 and I still would’ve felt a bit cheated. Maybe the crowd under 18 would enjoy this, But for my 35 year old self it’s a HARD pass. Only reason I gave it a 3/10 was because the music wasn’t terrible. But, I mean, if that warrants a purchase in your eyes then you’re better off going on YouTube and listening to the soundtrack. Worst Atlus game in the last 20 years. Sheesh. Expand

This game has an "I don't know what" but it's great I can't stop playing it. The script is very smart , but also involves feelings in deep, music, japanese voices... design.... man ,cant stop. It has elemensts from Shin Megami Tensei and Persona but in a fresh way. Im in love with the characters.

Buen juego Jrpg pero no llega a excelente.
Combate muy continuista con Persona5 , buen diseño artistico y banda sonora , pero las mazmorras un poco aburridas por largas y poco creativas. Aun así buen juego y muy disfrutable.

Exactly what I wanted. JRPG with a modern Twist. Amazing music, audio, and very beautiful, vibrant and colourful visuals.
The game runs great and rekindled my love for jrpgs.
No romance between the main-cast is a good change of pace when you compare this to Persona 4, 5. Only downside to the game so far is the slow movement speed in Dungeons. We should be able to move much faster.

Game has memes, and references to popular media and to the community.
Another Atlus Masterpiece. Finally on Xbox.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. More derivative weeb garbage from a company that hit their peak almost 15 years ago. Once Kazuma Kaneko and Shigenori Soejima got pushed out because they wanted to keep Persona games dark so that they were more similar and faithful to mainline SMT, Atlus went to hell. More repetitive uwu for virgins who watch anime to escape from their mundane lives. This is a hard pass for anyone over the age of 16. Expand

This game is great. The Vibe rocks, the pretitlescreen song opening slapps hard (And the in game music as well). I love the characters, Especially the MC Ringo, atlus should do non silent protags more often she was Great. And its the typical great Atlus turnbased combat, (Also the story is quite good as well.)

I really enjoyed playing this game. I always loved turn based RPG games and this game fits every criteria I’m looking for in a game. The characters all have a great back story. Side quests are fun. The loot system is good. The art style is pretty cool also. I recommend this to other xbox users to try it out!

Soul Hackers 2 was another fun ride through the SMT franchise. Far from being a very memorable experience and it does go on for a bit longer than it should, but I think it managed to do well what it sets out to do.

One thing that is immediately clear in SH2 is how they tried to inject a lot of style over substance. And, hey, don't get me wrong, there's still a lot of gameplay to be had

One thing that is immediately clear in SH2 is how they tried to inject a lot of style over substance. And, hey, don't get me wrong, there's still a lot of gameplay to be had here. Just not the most diverse, because "stylin' it" worked, for the most part. It's probably the least atmospheric and immersive SMT game I've played, but still manages to convey a nice Tokyo-like city in a near-future. They don't show much, but I really liked what is there to see and discover.

That's why, of course, graphics, art style and soundtrack played a great part in my enjoyment of this world. I like the direction they went with its looks, character and demon design is top-notch as usual and the OST is great! Unfortunately, there are not a lot of tracks in the game, but the ones present are pretty cool.

The story could've been better, however and that's what hurts it the most.

It's solid, but gets fairly boring towards the end. Which is a shame given how well it starts and how charming the main characters and villains are. Writing is to blame here. The concept and plot are interesting, but dialogues are ghastly. Conversations are redundant (borderline useless at times), motivations are questionable, characters NEVER shut up even DURING combat and there's a twist near the end that made no sense to me.

This aspect alone could've ruined SH2 for me because it's also quite time consuming (I clocked around 60 hours). Still, its classic SMT gameplay works so well! There's not a lot of praise to be said about the press turn system that I already haven't before, so I'll just say that this is one of the most accessible ways to get into it. Even more so than SMT V. Especially due to the Sabbaths, which were a fun strategic addition. It's also fairly forgiving, while challenging. **** moments are still the, just, well... I got used to it by this point.

Two things I wish I could change from this game, however, were the Axis and Requests. Requests are ok, but they get stale due to lack of variety and lukewarm rewards. Axis dungeons are just obnoxious. It starts off pretty cool, as it looks and sounds very ominous, can be a bit challenging and you find out more about the main characters. But BY GOD, DID IT NEED TO HAVE 5 FLOORS OF THE SAME **** THING? Wasted potential, I guess.

And I think that's it for Soul Hackers 2. Honestly, there's not a lot more to it. It's another fun SMT spin. Just not a remarkable one. But I feel like it's a good entry point to the franchise, even though it doesn't pack the best it has to offer.

Bearable on the first two hours and a chore on the rest. Good for people who don't mind going through the same bland areas over and over again and engaging in repetitive turn-based combat. The story is interesting but pales in comparison with the rest.

Soul Hackers 2 was such a cool game! Visuals, settings, characters and story were great! Where this game really shines is the music, The music elevates the other factors to pure excellence. The story was short enough that it didn't overstay its welcome. The QoL features allowed me to speed up combat, as someone who finds turned-based combat slow and tedious. The only thing I didn't like about this game was when you fight bosses, after a certain number of turns they'll unleash an unblockable onehit kill attack. Theres no countdown timer or warning, they just use it and its every single boss that does this. It might be regular enemies as well, but I've never fought a regular enemy long enough to find out.

Besides that small issue I really liked the game. The story was great, the gameplay was fun, and I really liked the characters and the upgrade system. No switching out weapons, youll use the same weapon the entire game, just upgrade it using monster parts as you progress in the story.

The game also starts off pretty fast, and coming right off a persona game this was a very welcome change.

I didn't invest much right away, but after receiving a few reimbursements within the first month of my investment, I decided to increase my investment because the platform was verified, but little did I know that I knew nothing about the company. They were only using the reimbursements to tempt me to make further investments, and I landed up losing £137,000. I complained to the police, but they were powerless to intervene. I then attempted to conduct independent research to see if there was anything I could do and discovered this amazing hacker Wizard web recovery on a post about hackers and how you can get your money back with just a few pieces of information you submit. I didn't think twice about contacting them via: wizardwebrecovery(@)programmer.net, What else could I say than being thankful to Wizard web recovery for being able to recover my bitcoin in full again in just a week. I'm alive today thanks to Wizard Web Recovery. If they hadn't provided assistance I'm not sure who I would be now.

You won’t grow bored of the game, either, because of that terrific story, and the cutscenes that drive it. With Soul Hackers 2, Atlus is building on the success of Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, and further cementing its position as the dominant force in JRPGs.

Behind its colorful neon lights, Soul Hackers 2 remains an "old-school" role-playing game that strays from more recent titles in its franchise like Persona 5 Royal or Shin Megami Tensei V. Beyond its cyberpunk anime aesthetic, the Atlus' game relies on an ever-effective and proven SMT-like combat system, but also on its friendly cast of characters who stand out for their original designs. Unfortunately, the experience is served by a story that is ultimately quite simple, with some technical shortcomings, but above all by its far too basic and repetitive dungeons which struggle to stimulate the player. A title that has something to please experienced role-playing game enthusiasts.
