Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland has a wonderful 90s edge. Furthermore, the action is easy to understand. However, this simplicity will frustrate older gamers. Accordingly, this is a child-friendly title (when played cooperatively) that has a niche appeal.

It’s been more than 25 years since one of the first Rugrats games released in the form of Rugrats: Search for Reptar. Unfortunately, Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland feels like a massive step backwards from that game.

Rugrats: Adventures in Game in Gameland does exactly what it sets out to do. Nostalgia for the cartoon and characters are imperative to its enjoyment. It is a solid game with some awkward mechanics that make it feel like a passion project on most levels. I had fun with it but wouldn’t find myself coming back for more after finishing it.
