Honestly the best game I’ve played in a long time. Number 7 was good too, but I believe number 8 village is the best one yet! I can’t wait for what they got in store next! I’ve played this 3 times already and I’m the type that really only play these type of games once. I’ll be going on my fourth run just to get the trophies that I haven’t achieved yet, but still in love with this game.Honestly the best game I’ve played in a long time. It’s never a bore always end up wishing there was more lol that’s how much fun it is!
I absolutely love the story line. How it all fits together. The boss fights are insane! The map is honestly my favorite of how big and open it is! Beautiful details to each and everything in the game made possible. I love how all four bosses have a different story to them in their own unique way. I jump every time I play. It’s still scary for me, but I enjoy it!

This is the best part in the Resident Evil franchise, in which all the details are good: the gameplay, the graphics, the game design, and the script, and the horror moments are terrifying. And the recently released addition deeply reveals such a character as Rose, Ethan's daughter

To be clear, I only was interested on the Milf character. The Milf was in all marketings, but the Milf section was over after less than 4 hours. Not interested in the rest of the game if the Milf section is over.
The next chapter with the disappearing puppet and the baby monster was too scary and I had to stop the game completely.
Some ludonarrative dissonance happened: Milf attacks me

Some ludonarrative dissonance happened: Milf attacks me while I am going through a door where the merchant is, then a dialogue with the merchant started, while the Milf tried to slaughter me behind me.
Merchant's music theme is the best, the rest is generic and forgettable.
    Excellent italian voice acting.

I was hesitant at the start of the game thinking it was more of a clone of RE4 than its own thing but I was wrong as hell. This game is unique and a lot more resident evil than 7 was even though seven was a masterpiece

The game is great, but playing with a controller is not. The action part becomes more and more intense with the progress and the sniper rifle is next to useless with a controller.
They really must add a way to continue playing on a PC, using "play anywhere" or else.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Beautifuly crafted experience. I realy enjoy amount of detail present in this title. I had a blast going throug multiple playthroughs, all the dificulties, The Mercenaries, atemting a speedrun, completing challenges or browsing through the ingame model/figure viewer. Learning the layout of the game, finding new ways to fight or preferabely avoid enemies,, trying new tactics... I particulaly enjoyed alll weapon models and animations, especialy pistols. Combat is improved and build upon from previous title. The only things that could and should be better are puzzles. They are super simple and does not offer any challege, so no satisfaction upon their completion. They could have been similar to Doom Eternal's platforming sections, offering a time to breathe and take a break from all that slaughter and managing resources, instead they are dumb at best and annoying at worst. But overall, solid, great experience. This title should not be missing from your library. Expand

There are some disgusting moments, things that you would not like to see and probably that's the real difficulty of this game - to bit your own fears (not like fearing of any monsters or so, but to fear of constantly lacking resources, money management etc). OK, I was never a fan of horrors and RE series, this is my first game in the series. I was seduced by an interesting setting in eastern Europe and some friend's recommendations. Do I regret? Not at all.
The game is not very difficult, I've died a couple of times but it is constantly building an atmosphere of danger and it's doing it in a great way. The setting is great and the world is very very filled with details. Visiting the castle is like real museum journey, not counting the monsters. I was impressed by the atmosphere and artistic touch.

The game has its horror moments and more action focused parts on the other hand. Gameplay is filled with hidden treasures, locked rooms, puzzles etc.
I was able to beat it for the first time on standard difficulty level, which took me 20 hours (in-game counter is simply lying about 13 hours).
This is one of the title with high replayability becouse you are seriously getting rewarded for in-game achievments (like unlimitted ammo etc).
Storyline is great and a beat weaker at the endgame.
Just to add that game is working in 45 FPS with RT turned on (is off by default) and it runs much smoother than other titles in 30 FPS. I did not found a single bug.
A real gem, not only for the survival horror fan.

Its story on the other hand didnt feel as grounded as the 7th game with the bosses feeling alittle random and out of place for me aswell with alot less of a horror aspected to it. But still loved them, and the characters, each one feeling pretty unique form one another. The ending aswell was a sad and heartfelt ending for ethan but did well for opening up a new chapter for the resident evil series. I wish we got more of some backstory of the villains but maybe we might get some dlcs in the future, but who knows. All in all i would recommend re:village as a solid next entry to resident evil series. so if your looking for some time to kill or looking for a new series to get into, this game is for you. Expand

It's a perfect summation of everything that works about Resident Evil as a series. Having not really enjoyed Resident Evil 7 (and stopped playing it long before the end) i did enjoy the look of Village and thought after much reviews to give it a go and so glad i did its so different to Resident Evil 7 yet the story is all closely connected (i watched videos to get the whole 7 story) Playing this felt like watching and being in a good movie too and so very atmospheric.Having not really enjoyed Resident Evil 7 (and stopped playing it long before the end) i did enjoy the look of Village and thought after much reviews to give it a go and so glad i did its so different to Resident Evil 7 yet the story is all closely connected (i watched videos to get the whole 7 story) Playing this felt like watching and being in a good movie too and so very atmospheric. The storage is much better on this game than 7 and buying extra storage on the way and the way its all done with the Duke character adds to all the atmosphere also. Beautiful graphics and sound add to the mix and i'm so glad i didn't pass on this due to 7. Expand

Capcom you are incredible, this game has become a real discovery. Delight did not leave throughout the passage. The way they worked on the village is worthy of applause. A true child's delight, involvement in the gameplay, a real gift for everyone who appreciates single-player story games. Respect, it was very cool !

It’s not a bad game but it’s not as scary as 7, I honestly do like the game but it’s a bit of a step down of 7, if you want to play a scary RE game 7 is your go too, 8 is also cheesy and a bit action pack

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. RE Village is a splendid, well-designed, spooky and an amazing game. It holds its true values as a sequel to the RE 7. I'd say village is relatively less scarier in comparison to the previous one, but has a more enjoyable gameplay with a great combat and weapon system. I just haven't been a fan when soliders make their way through resident evil games, i just don't enjoy it as much as late hours of the game have some shooter-based mechanics rather than a horror game. Only part i didn't like. But great game and great work Capcom! Expand

This game is the usual round of Resident Evil absurdity - and it's great. Convoluted plots, ridiculous larger than life characters, evil corporations (that still think genetically engineering dangerous unstable bioweapons is much more effective than, say, just shooting people)- what's not to love. It's just silly fun with some genuinely unsettling set pieces (the dolls house for example.)

Resident Evil Village is an incredible piece of work, capable of keeping us glued to the screen for the entire story. Although there are some flaws that make it closer to an excellent game rather than a masterpiece, we recommend everyone to play it as it's a good product in almost all aspects, which could also make you approach the saga for the first time.

While not without faults and with a strangely out of character last section, Resident Evil Village is simply one of the finest moments for the series, mixing together a wonderfully dark atmosphere with tense action and sweet morsels of horror and despair.
