    There are very few games that feelt so unique for me the way Psychonauts 2 did. Great in almost every sense, a true reminder of why platform games were the most loved ones in the past. Definetly worth playing.

    Really enjoyed this - Amazing art and design, and a satisfying conclusion. Taking a couple points off for some rough transitions between scenes, somewhat lacking overworld content, and dullish combat.. Appreciated the 'god mode' toggle since I got bored with combat.

    Absolutely delivered as a follow-up to the first one with 15 years worth of nostalgia and inflated expectations. Some of the most endearing character writing in a game I’ve experienced. I dream of a remake of the first game with this gameplay and graphical fidelity.

    Great follow up to the original game and story. Improved on the little things from game 1 that were frustrating and made it better than I thought they could. A must play.

    This game is amazing. 10/10 without any questions or answers. Characters, their development, gameplay, combat, pacing, story, visual style, level designs, everything is just perfect. This game is 100% worth your time and you WILL NOT regret it. Now, to why this game has such a low rating - the answer's simple, 90% of negative reviews are either sony butthurts that review bombed the gameThis game is amazing. 10/10 without any questions or answers. Characters, their development, gameplay, combat, pacing, story, visual style, level designs, everything is just perfect. This game is 100% worth your time and you WILL NOT regret it. The game takes a bit of time to get started, but once the hub area opens, the exploration and Self discovery is quite impressive. Tied along with some beautifully crafted levels and a very comfortable play time (approx 10hrs to beat)Really great game.     It’s not a mere platform game, since the game mechanics adhere to the narrative - you link thoughts, you kill mental “issues”, etc - and you have an emotional connection to the characters, which aren’t there as a fill up but to add more to the experience. At a first look the graphics may be “simple”, but they’re actually stunning and also serve a purpose within the narrative, withoutIt’s not a mere platform game, since the game mechanics adhere to the narrative - you link thoughts, you kill mental “issues”, etc - and you have an emotional connection to the characters, which aren’t there as a fill up but to add more to the experience. At a first look the graphics may be “simple”, but they’re actually stunning and also serve a purpose within the narrative, without dropping the ball on gorgeous reflections, textures and lighting. The “powers” are also diversified and very well thought, and you feel satisfaction without the typical gunplay shooting of so many platform games.     Great game, with a lot of amusingly weird levels (the "sixties one" comes to mind, as well as the "theme park ride"), and also a great soundtrack to accompany it all.
    Only minor negative I could mention is that towards to end it begins to get a little bit repetitive, but that is just about it.

In fact it keeps the pacing perfect as you’re constantly introduced to new and inventive situations back to back. No idea is lingered on for longer than it needs to be.     Never played the 1st but only heard good things about it so was excitingly anticipating playing the 2nd. I have been absolutely blown away by the designs of the minds you delve into. Around halfway throught i already want to play some levels again as the colours and overall design will leave you gobsmacked. Followd by some reallu solid controls.     One of the most amazing games I played recently, it reminded me of the old good days of PS1 and PS2 innovative and really fun games. the story is very interesting and engaging, the gameplay is very joyful with a lot to explore. there's a lot of diversity in everything and the developers did a great job with the smallest details.

I think the graphics are pretty delightful and keep true to the original game, which is the whole point. If you want realistic graphics, go back to playing COD.     What an absolute creative masterpiece. This game slides in and out of genres, is superbly written, and has original and engaging platforming. The levels are wild, you literally never know what to expect.

    One of the best Platformers in the last years since Mario odyssey , and it's easily a goty contender , this game is very special and I'm really happy that there is a talented devs that can make games like these now day
    It has a soul in it , very good story and really great dialogue that keeps you hooked to the game , a memorable characters and really fun gameplay .

    A soul's game this is not. A little on the easy side for me but it is still incredibly fun. The story is hilarious and keeps you interested and there are enough mechanics/collectibles that ensure you are invested until the end.

    This game rocks, simple as that. The creativity in the theming and design of the levels is just jaw-dropping; the writing, story, and characters are streets ahead of the typical modern AAA drivel; and the game looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous.

    Had to subtract one point because, unfortunately, the combat and platforming can still be pretty clunky at times. But all in all, this is    This game rocks, simple as that. The creativity in the theming and design of the levels is just jaw-dropping; the writing, story, and characters are streets ahead of the typical modern AAA drivel; and the game looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous.

    Had to subtract one point because, unfortunately, the combat and platforming can still be pretty clunky at times. But all in all, this is definitely a strong contender for my GOTY. If you have Game Pass, you should definitely give this a try. If you don't have Game Pass, but you're into 3D platformers and/or like surrealism and games that do something different, you can't go wrong here.

    P.S. YES WE GET IT FFS, the game doesn't have a russian translation!!! Jesus Christ dude. No reason to hand out zeros en masse. Do you think I give every game without a (good) German translation a 0? No, because I'm not an entitled crybaby. How about you guys simply learn English, like I did?     My GOTY so far. Game had me smiling from start to finish and reminded me of what gaming used to feel like. Not a chore to complete with 100s of side objectives or extremely difficult. Just well designed levels, well written, and lovable characters. Would recommend to anyone!

    I’ve only just completed the Dentist Level but I’m completely blown away with the level design and the depth to all the enemies…. Even with the ‘emotional baggage’. This needs to be a GOTY contender!! This game doesn’t need haptics or adaptive triggers and it’s not locked behind a console pay wall. The accessibility of this game is for everyone…… and everyone should play it. This needs to be a GOTY contender!! This game doesn’t need haptics or adaptive triggers and it’s not locked behind a console pay wall. The accessibility of this game is for everyone…… and everyone should play it. The writing from Tim Schafer is as good as ever. I also read some of the reviews criticising the old school level design….. and that’s what I’m enjoying the most. Some of the greatest platform games are basic in their design but are some of the best games ever made. I’m playing this on XSX and Game Pass but I will be supporting the studio when I buy the physical PS4 version. I’m amazed that a small independent studio with a budget of 3 million are achieving gameplay mechanics that some people say can only be done on the fastest SSDs…..     I just finished the Psychonauts 2 and really enjoyed it. The platforming is solid, and the story is sweet if a little convoluted. The game has some flaws, like having to constantly apply and switch powers mid battle. The character progression also has very limited options.     Anyway, the game itself... quite simply it's very enjoyable, and a light-hearted take on dealing with some serious issues like mental health problems.

    The graphics are simply fine technically speaking, running flawlessly at native 4K@60Hz on my Series X, and a silky smooth 1440p@120Hz. Though, I can understand that some people may not be all that keen on the colourful "Tim Burton-esque" like cartoony graphical art style.

    Best thing though... it didn't cost me a penny outside of my Gamepass subscription... Bargain! :)    … Expand

    Levels: the levels are improved with both design and crazy gravity, reality and mind bending aspects. the levels are easily the best part of the game the mind bending designs and unique environmental story design makes each level a deep dive in the characters psyche in a very literal sense. you can understand how a person acts based on their levels and enemies, YES enemies are a psyche that explains their current condition and previous traumas.
    Story: it finishes the story of the two previous games tying up all the knots neatly but...
    Characters: the character in the real world are probably the worst part of this game, the interactions you have with them are limited to some dialog and mission critical dialog the new kids are introduced as a powerful force to be reckoned with but they are sidelined for a majority of the game which is disappointing. the mentors are basically non existent until needed which is a big downgrade from the big mystery in the first game that included them.    … Expand

    This might just be the best game I’ve ever played…and I’ve been gaming since 1984. It's the perfect mix of platforming, exploration, puzzle-solving, storytelling, action, and adventure. It literally checks every box. Hats off to the folks at Double Fine and Xbox for such an excellent experience.

    Never played the first game, but tried the second. An extremely well made world with a great hero. The level design and platforming puzzles are very clever and interesting. I like it quite a lot.

    You dont need to play the first one to play this. Double Fine give u a quick "previously on Psychonauts".

    Grandísimo juego, los gráficos cartoon no me encantan pero se ve genial. Muy divertido, los diálogos me han parecido lo mejor y gameplay muy fluido. Merece la pena un mes de game pass aunque sea para probar este juego.

    Homage to the classic way of gaming but it feels modern and plays super smoothly. Haven't had this much fun in gaming over a decade, this rekindle my old gamer spark. Highly recommendable for anyone that wants something fresh but classic at the same time

    Psychonauts 1 is the perfect example of the term cult classic, and Psychonauts 2 has created another masterpiece that I am only assuming won’t receive the attention it deserves. They have perfected and expanded on their original idea in every way and created a world full of heart and fun. It’s been well documented that the last few years it took to bake were used to expand the boss battles, and finely polish the areas that were complete. It’s clear that the added funds from being a Microsoft studio were put to good use and the team at Double Fine should be very proud of what they have created. I cannot wait to see what they create next.
