    Encore une perle, une « pépite » indé tombée dans le Game Pass… quelle fraîcheur, quelle… innovation, quelle… beauté (?!)… quelle direction « artistique », vraiment…! non, mais c’était ironique, si, si… il s’agit en fait d’un étron indé pas frais qui sent très fort le poisson pourri et cela tombe fort à propos puisqu’on y pêche de la poiscaille…

    Sauf que l’ennui et la bêtise réunies dans cette espèce d’histoire (?!) que le développeur indépendant tente de nous raconter (maladroitement) ressemble à un film d’auteur Télérama qui n’a aucune idée de ce qu’il est en train de faire, surchargé qu’il est par son propre agenda social geignard woke SJW LGBGT et j’en passe…

    Si le jeu est en 3D (en 3 dimensions, contrairement aux larves indés en 2D pixel lard bien sûr), il n’en reste pas moins pathétiquement vilain avec ses 256 couleurs et son grossier aspect de dessin animé niais et de Légo Duplo… mais avec des textures de pixel larve, à savoir ignoblement pixélisées… puisqu’il paraît que les pixels, c’est la vie chez les développeurs d’étrons indés ! la musique est typique du genre indé, c’est-à-dire gnangnan et pleurnicharde (même les ascenseurs n’en veulent pas !).

    Quoi qu’il en soit, nous voilà comme de coutume horrifiés par ces graphismes immondes, ce mauvais goût permanent, ce non-jeu bricolé par des stagiaires à côté de leurs pompes qui font vraiment n’importe quoi. Alors, si vous ne savez pas… ne faites rien, les baltringues !    … Expand

    The gameplay is very relaxing, the story and characters are fine, my only complaint is that the frame rate is too low while walking around, although I think this was intentional. I do appreciate that you can choose both your and your partner's pronouns, it makes for a more immersive experience.

    It’s meant to be pleasant and cozy, and everything about it – from the folksy characters, to the fiddle music, to the lovely voxel art – is designed to be as warm and upbeat and wholesome as possible. And more often than not, it succeeds at being a pleasant experience. You wouldn’t think a fishing game, of all things, as being cuddly and cozy and inviting – but Moonglow Bay proves that it’s not just possible, it’s also pretty fun.

    The chill nature of the gameplay, the exploration of the oceans, finding new fish and completing quests for the townsfolk meshed together to make a really rather enjoyable time. Moonglow Bay is the perfect palette cleanser in between other grittier titles, and another solid addition to the Game Pass service.

    Despite the few bugs and glitches I encountered, I found myself easily sinking hours at a time into Moonglow Bay. Its familiarity, the need to help someone going through the same grief I had experienced myself, the nostalgic voxel art and delightful music all really made me escape into this coastal community and really feel like I was part of all of it. It was clearly developed by a passionate team who took care to really make it feel this way. I think it may have benefitted from a bit longer development time, but they pushed out a patch quickly and I will take on another playthrough of it before too long. I loved the idea of helping to save a small town like I grew up in and I look forward to spending some more time chilling in Moonglow Bay soon.
