    Here's how it works. Spin the globe, pick your destination, click the place and a departure    I'm blown away by the 0/10 scores. Reviews saying this isn't a game, it's a boring simulator. How about you pass me the crayons, so I can write the title in a way you'll understand. Not sure why people playing a game called flight simulator are getting upset about what it says on the cover.

    Here's how it works. Spin the globe, pick your destination, click the place and a departure option comes up, click that then click the fly button and guess what? You are flying where you chose, anywhere in the world. You can pick an airport too and take off yourself from the runway. Don't expect Google Street view, cos we're not that advanced yet but what a great thing to have on your console. It's in the £9 game pass, you can't moan at that. Only complaint is damn where did all my SSD space go but I am guessing the mapping of the world takes a bloody lot of data. This is a slow relaxing flight simulator. Don't be expecting Starfox. Enjoy it for what it is, which for me is to have a nosey at places for my potential holidays .    … Expand

    I have spent around 200+ hours on this game. It's a gem of a game. Very relaxing.
    They keep updates regularly adding new plains, dlc's fixing bugs and adding hand crafted airports & monuments all the time.

    Excellent idea with great potential, however, there's hardly a time that the game doesn't crash mid-flight, making the game unplayable. The issues have not been resolved, despite many updates. I would expect a game formatted for a standardized console like Xbox Series X|S to work flawlessly.     I bought MSFS2020 at launch and spend $$$ in their marketplace for addon content because Asobo/Microsoft promised that the game would have a ten year life cycle. Today, they broke that promise. The flight sim community has been waiting patiently for years for the product that was promised. There are still a ton of missing features and game-breaking bugs that haven't been ironed out, yet.I bought MSFS2020 at launch and spend $$$ in their marketplace for addon content because Asobo/Microsoft promised that the game would have a ten year life cycle. Today, they broke that promise. The flight sim community has been waiting patiently for years for the product that was promised. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s more rare for me to get into a multiplayer game. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (9) Superb. Just shy of gaming nirvana, this score is a high recommendation because the game reviewed is head-and-shoulders above its competition.

    Microsoft Flight Simulator is the most innovated accomplishment a developer has been able to accomplish. It’s impressive that you can fly through the entire world using google maps technology. You can fly above your neighborhood and see your house, where you went to school, and etc… Microsoft have been adding free updates to add more detail to worldwide notable landmarks/cities. There are training modules to help you learn how to fly a plane that relates to the real world. The only negative is that sometimes it feels like the tech for consoles is still not there yet since you’ll get booted from the game after 1-2 hours of flying in free flight mode but other times it’ll work just fine.     Technical masterpiece with astonishing views (well we have a beautiful planet) and perfect timing during the pandemic to view the world from above.
    I am not that much into simulators, but you can also do very short flights with nearly everything assisted.

    Le meilleur jeu de simulation jusqu’à ce jour Ce jeu a nécessité un très gros travail et franchement il est magnifique je n’ai jamais eu de bugs ou de crash de jeu en sachant que c’est un jeu qui est très gourmand il mérite un 10/10

    How, Why? Google maps the game. What's the point of this game, the graphic is good but so boring, I can literally see the same thing on google maps. The publisher can seriously put that money into SO many other games. Why not try Cuphead, even Halo.

Now, beware that this is more a simulator than a game, so it might not appeal to everyone. Otherwise, the graphics are mind blowing and the perfomance is good for the most part. Being able to fly anywhere in the world aboard small planes and airliners is aMicrosoft Flight Simulator is the best and most realistic flight simulator.     This is something else. This just surpassed what a ''game'' can do.
    Being able to travel the whole planet without leaving your room, that's something that as a kid I would only dream of.
    Now it's possible, and in the best way they could do it.
    Can't wait for what the future holds!

    Having played prior versions on PCs years ago, I really figured this would be better on my brand new series X. I’m really just surprised because so many people rave about this game and the best graphics in the game are the planes and the major landmarks - everything else is really no better than viewing Google earth maps. The level of detail in the simulation aspect of the game is amazing but I really didn’t expect the marketplace, last-gen graphics, and load times. I’m running a base install with the Nordic dlc installed and I’m well over 100gb - AND the game still streams textures and models over the internet while I’m playing. Another negative is that even though the maps are huge, they’re poorly detailed. I’m very familiar with Reykjavik in Iceland, and the area surrounding Hallgrímskirkja is absolutely incorrect. So for 100+ gb and devouring isp bandwidth, you still have massive mistakes on the maps.

There is something special about flying an airplane like you should in real life and flying over recognizable places. However, the short challenges, flying lessons and exploration tours make up for a lot and will give the casual player the ‘fix’ needed to keep going.

    Look at this experience as a must for Xbox Gamepass owners that will be played every now and then to be enchanted by the world from the sky.

    Pros:
    - The entire globe available to explore
    - Real time elements
    - Challenges, tours and fly lessons

    Cons:
    - Flying low over land have impact on the framerate
    - Obviously a lot of houses are placeholders or flat but it gets the player out of the experience sometimes    … Expand

You take to the skies and explore Earth and it's many, many landmarks, natural or manmade. Due to it's realistic mapping of our planet, you can find the location of your house and fly by, or in my experience, crash into next-door.

    If you want a game where you can visit half the    Microsoft Flight Sim is not game, it's an experience. There's not many games that have visuals is amazing. You take to the skies and explore Earth and it's many, many landmarks, natural or manmade. Due to it's realistic mapping of our planet, you can find the location of your house and fly by, or in my experience, crash into next-door.

    If you want a game where you can visit half the world in your home, this is it. Since the world has been locked up for so long, and restrictions to where we can travel, Flight Sim is a nice way to lose yourself in the beauty of out world.    … Expand

    Played on PC on its release and waited with excitement for the release on Xbox Series S, and I am very dissapointed. Cursor/menu input lag. Only 30 fps. Low resolution. Tutorial icons not matching with Hotas. Where is the damn active-pause mode, done 5 tutorials, never heard of it yet, now I have to search it on this overloaded options and/or in the internet. Internet says that it is still so that the plane works in the background, but there was a discussion on the PC version that it should be a bug, so when its also on Xbox like that, then there is no point of looking at the world when you quickly pass the POIs, because using active pause lets crash you your plane, even if you didnt crash, and you have to restart the flight.
    Dumb menu UI cant decide if use controller or joystick cursor, I click on pause to restart the flight with X, then I cant confirm the popup with CONTINUE or CANCEL with the controller like in any other dumb game, I have to switch to cursor mode (move left stick), then move the laggy cursor to the button, then press A. Cant close the damn ATC window with the pseudo mouse cursor on the X icon. Already had to mute the voices because the tower messages are pi**ing me off. After moving the pointer around and button mashing on the controller I could close the window with the cursor, it seems to be a focus problem with the crappy GUI.    … Expand

    Muy bueno, es creo mejor optimizada que la versión de PC, cuando muchos piensan que la versión de PC siempre es mejor que en Xbox o consolas... Tremenda experiencia de vuelo, hasta pude viajar a Egipto cuando no me lo puedo permitir fácil, pero es una experiencia muy agradable, es divertido si eres paciente y le pones el modo experto ufff, el mejor simulador sin duda, no cuento laMuy bueno, es creo mejor optimizada que la versión de PC, cuando muchos piensan que la versión de PC siempre es mejor que en Xbox o consolas... Tremenda experiencia de vuelo, hasta pude viajar a Egipto cuando no me lo puedo permitir fácil, pero es una experiencia muy agradable, es divertido si eres paciente y le pones el modo experto ufff, el mejor simulador sin duda, no cuento la simulación de carreras, que es un sitio dominado por varias sagas… Expand

    the entire world to explore in a plane. i dont enjoy flying cuz of heights and all but flying in the game is zen like. the only problem is the size of the game cuz my XS has very limited internal storage and this takes up half of its data.

    I can’t believe a game like this is playable on a console it looks amazing! It's fun to play and flying a plane is not as difficult as I thought. The flight training in the game helped me learning how to fly a plane.
    It’s worth it trying it out!

    Microsoft Flight Sim is in no way a game. I do agree it has pretty visuals but that's it. I played it on the Xbox Series S and this app has a huge dnload space requirement and it is soooo painfully slow to load.     The game is fundamentally broken in many aspects. Auto-taxiing is just killing the immersion and I could not figure out how to disable it. As I saw in several forums others are having the same issue without any solution. After switching off all assists, auto-taxiing remained and cannot be dealt with. Probably I still believed that professional reviewers and testers are doing an honest job. So after "flying" more than 50 hours now I gave up and will try to forget this huge disappointment. If you do not have GamePass I do not recommend to buy this at all, as you will be surprised how bad it is. Maybe I will this out again later as I am a GamePass subscriber, but all the advertisements and reviews are full of lies and misleading information. Again: THIS PRODUCT IS SERIOUSLY BROKEN!… Expand

    Possibly the best looking game I've ever played. From a technical standpoint, it's pretty incredible what the game is doing behind the scenes and pulling off. I admit it's not for everyone, and can get old pretty quick once you've flown over all the locations you're interested in, but it's still such an amazing achievement. The upcoming competitive modes and Top Gun DLC will only make it better.

    This I probably the most graphically impressive game to launch ever. Very immersive and fluid game play even in 30 fps. Next Gen is an understatement of what this game is.

    Really good looking simulator with a great controller support that makes the game accessible to more people. Loading times are longer than i've expected and there should've been a 60 fps option for series x on a lower resolution.

    Less exciting than watching paint dry. Then you realize to get the full game and all its content, it'll cost you about 800 quid. Not sure why you would want to own the all the content but anyways, a bank loan should just about cover it.

    Now I ain't one of them smart folks that can easily pick up new skills and such, so whether this is an accurate simulation is something I can never really comment on.

    There was a sense of peace in moments when flying over iconic landmarks across the globe that I feel like I can never really have in other games.

    Now unlike our bot gaming family who review bomb I’m not petty-minded so unlike them, I won’t give this sim a 0.

    It’s worth a 6 for the box design, but Phil should concentrate on releasing some real games.

    It's difficult to judge something that literally lets you fly anywhere in the world. I flirted with a 9 because there are some niggles, but for a sim of this scope, it has to stand alongside 10/10 games. After 40 hours I'm just scratching the surface.

    The real Next generation. I hardly play flight simulators, but this time I was hooked. Beautiful not only to see, but also to play. The cities are very qualitatively detailed and this is even an excursion from the sky of a small hang glider, for example:)

    Amazing simulator game. The best one in the world. I am sure this simulator game could be used to train pilots. If you are a kid and don't like it maybe you should try easy simulator for Nintendo switch. This "simulator" is not for kids.

    First of all, it’s amazing what the developers managed to achieve with a game that made even the most expensive PC graphics cards sweat. The landscapes and cities look simply breathtaking on Xbox Series X, and the console doesn’t get red-hot. However, I did encounter some technical issues, like vanishing textures or even a sudden crash back to the main menu. I’m also not a fan of keeping the interface identical to the PC version, because it means sometimes you need to use your controller as a poor substitute for a mouse. [10/2021, p.67]

    Microsoft Flight Simulator is not without its faults. The user interface is hardly user-friendly, opting for a simple recreation of the PC version without much thought given to console gaming. The Flight Training tutorials could have some added polish to make them more accommodating to aspiring pilots. And finally, if I’m going to crash, let me crash in style. Give me epic explosions or something to punctuate my failures – not just a simple black screen. If you’re currently an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, then you have no choice at all – download Microsoft Flight Simulator right at this moment and experience this amazing accomplishment in gaming. Yes, this game is a simulator, but it’s a simulator that does so many things right.
