That was AWESOME! Like, Iron Maiden and Doom made a child and named it as Metal Hellsinger.

I would like to see mouse and keyboard support but still a perfect game that offers a wonderfully initiated game mechanic

i am not a huge fan of metal and rhythm games but this game is the exception. i love how the game combine action with rhythm and all songs especially "no tomorrow" are amazing. i finished the game and each time i listen the soundtracks in youtube, i want to play it again. i don't give a 10/10 because i think all the bosses are similar in appearance with a little change. i think that maybei am not a huge fan of metal and rhythm games but this game is the exception. i love how the game combine action with rhythm and all songs especially "no tomorrow" are amazing. i finished the game and each time i listen the soundtracks in youtube, i want to play it again. i don't give a 10/10 because i think all the bosses are similar in appearance with a little change. i think that maybe the needed to add different bosses with different styles. i recommend this game to everyone. That game is amazing. From the beginning to the end I had a lot of fun. I just don't give a 10 for the low number of enemies. The soundtrack is the big difference, it was a great experience.

Metal: Hellsinger is fantastic game. The soundtrack is top notch. The gameplay is fluid and fun. The skill ceiling is high. The replayability is there, and I can't stop coming back to it.

An individual's personal enjoyment of the game will hinge mostly on their enjoyment of the soundtrack, which has been bumping on many of my car rides or during household chores. I can't get enough of

The gameplay is fun and simple. While enemy and combat variety is limited compared to a game like Doom: Eternal, Metal: Hellsinger's sandbox better fits its speedrunning/perfectionist/high-score game-loop. Still, the lack of variety can stand against the enjoyment of the game to some, I imagine.

I was considering getting all achievements in Metal: Hellsinger I loved it so much, but sadly there was a bug that caused the achievement for completing all torments not to pop for me, so I gave up. Bummer.

Metal: Hellsinger is an absolute beast of a game, and is without a doubt one of the best games of the year and a Game of The Year 2022 candidate for me.

Update: Metal: Hellsinger is my Game of the Year 2022.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

It has excellent gameplay, but the bosses are the same. It's hard to play from a controller of Xbox!

Another Game Pass game that was very enjoyable. As someone that enjoys music and rhythm, this was the ideal game for me. Got it into because of the achievements and ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. The ending and the post-credits scene does indicate that it could have a sequel, which I'm hoping expands the lore and brings more badass music.

Enemigos algo repetitivos y escasos.
    Buen juego indie.

I really liked this game, but it's not perfect.

I wish the boss fights throughout were better. All of them underwhelmed outside of the final boss. I also wish the weapon varieties and rhythm patterns were more varied. The entire game seems to play at the exact same 'rhythm' no matter which weapon you use, and all weapons are made to work within that seemingly constant rhythm. More

More variety would've made the game more challenging and fun, IMO. The music, while very good, was a bit lacking in the first half of the game. The metal songs sound really generic, but it definitely picks up in the latter levels. Especially the final level, but again, I wish more of the game was like that final stage. It's worth playing, and overall it about met & maybe exceeded my expectations, but there is clear room for growth in a potential sequel.

Could not find a good satisfying play rhythm and the rest is just bland and boring as F. Also seriously dislike games "meant" to be played with stupid distorted fisheye-lense FOVs (default) and mouse and WASD.

Thank good for GamePass, I gave it an hour and then quickly uninstalled it. I'll probably check out the list of songs to see if I can make a playlist for workout or something.

While not perfect in all areas, the craft on display in Metal: Hellsinger is a testament to the beauty and precision that a focused project with a great vision can yield.

Metal: Hellsinger is a raw, old-school style of FPS, which a kick ass soundtrack that showcases a new rhythm mechanic (using original music from the team) while including lots of things from the recent versions of the Doom franchise. ‘Glory Kills’, air dashing and more are all here but even with those elements the developers have done enough to make Metal: Hellsinger feel different and unique all on its own. Its inclusion of the rhythm mechanics and even the ‘bullet hell’ aspects of some fights that have players dodging bullets and enemies around an arena is one of those things. This might not be the best example of a demon slaying game done right, but this is a fantastic tribute to those that have come before and a great example of thinking outside the box and taking a change on something different in a sea of sameness.

Overall, if you are a metalhead like me then this is absolutely the fps you need to try. It’s free on Xbox Gamepass currently, so no excuse not to try it! The game’s negatives are quite minor, and I could not stop headbanging to the beat all the way through the campaign. There is nothing quite like getting into the zone and chaining together a string of shoot, jump, dash, reload on the beat in Metal Hellsinger. Here’s hoping for some DLC or a fully fledged sequel so we can do it all over again.
