    Laika: Aged Through Blood is a game like no other. While its influences are clear, the manner in which these aspects have been combined is masterful. Traversing the thoughtfully designed world and skillfully eliminating enemies feels great. Although it can take a while to truly get to grips with the mechanics, when it clicks, it’s incredible.

    There is no simple way to say this, Laika: Aged Through Blood is an extremely flawed masterpiece, but a masterpiece nonetheless. An amazing, and at times unforgettable experience that fell short by bad controls and some poor level design.

    Laika: Aged Through Blood confirms the talent of the teams from Brainwash Gang. The title combines the best of a roguelite with the wealth of a Metroidvania without a single false note, all the while generously revisiting the genres. The difficulty is perfectly balanced, and although the game is designed to be punitive, it never becomes frustrating. Improved by a highly immersive soundtrack and an artistic direction that draws you in from the very first moment, the game is a real nugget. For us, it is a real coup de coeur that we cannot recommend highly enough.
