    This game is alright but it doesn't do anything new or great. The world design is good but theres no real desire to explore it because everything including its environments are so clustered together and forgettable. It's soundtrack is decent but nothing special. It's side content is boring and typical Ubisoft standard. This was my biggest issue with the game because of how badly it was executed.
    Overall it's just an underwhelming game. This game takes many things from breath of the wild but ubisoft unfortunately doesn't understand why they where so unique and effective in the first place. It's overall just an unimpressive breath of the wild clone that as of writing this review is mostly forgotten about and hardly being talked about.     Beautiful and colorful world. Engaging gameplay with a lot of fun puzzles. But like every Ubisoft game it is not fun for the long run. Long cutscenes are needed to make sense of the story and missions were extremely repetitive.

    story

    Charming story about the Greek gods and the final boss Typhon. You play Fenyx, a great character who is chosen to be a heroine. In the course of the story you have to deal with various Greek gods (Aphrodite, Athena, Ares etc.) and have to get back their essences to hunt Typhon, as this is almost all people etc. also the crew around Fenyx (you are on Shipwrecked at the beginning) petrified.

    The whole thing is told by Prometheus and Zeus, who are sometimes more, sometimes less wrong with their humor. Some dialogues were really hard at the limit or even over it. Often I could just roll my eyes. At this point it should be said that the game's clientele is also intended for younger people, even if Aphrodite in particular often makes clear allusions. Has also been classified from the age of 12.

    The story is lovingly told and has been okay so far, but is by no means pulling out any trees. The whole end of the game (final battle, sequences afterwards) was really great again.

    Graphics / glitches

    The whole thing is kept in a comic graphic style and is often pretty to look at. The open world is at least as lovingly designed and also very, very colorful. The characters look excellent, as do many of the different weapon, mount, and armor skins.

    I haven't had any glitches or anything negative. Everything went smoothly and without any technical problems.

    Gameplay

    I played on the hard difficulty level and basically never had any real problems. The game is kept very simple in its gameplay and, especially in combat, does not have a lot of depth. But I enjoyed fighting the most, by far the most. I combined skills with each other, threw opponents into the air and tried again and again to push the combo numbers up. That got me in the mood.

    The boss fights and individual elite opponents were also very nice from the style of play, but I have to say that the opponent's variance in particular left a lot to be desired. That was just not enough for me. Also, some boss opponents (or most of them?) Didn't drop a loot, which was kind of a shame in the game.

    I enjoyed using many of the abilities, including phosphorus and its healing spell, which is basically indispensable.

    But now it comes: The game has unfortunately robbed me of a lot of motivation and fun due to the other game mechanics. Most of the puzzles were very simple but incredibly boring. Often very monotonous shifting of things, which sometimes didn't work so well in terms of control technology and was very frustrating (e.g. the Athena vault, my goodness that was terrible).

    The vaults would have been a lot more fun for me personally as battle arenas (not all but at least half of them, by far not all of them, but until then found a pure action vault, except for these intermediate bosses (they were very cool)). These are of course personal preferences, of course. This gathering of resources was also extremely demotivating. I would have preferred a classic experience system or a combination of both. Because all these many stations, typical of Ubisoft, on the open world map could not motivate me in any way, which is why I no longer paid attention to numerous dungeons, health bars, resources, etc. It just wasn't fun unfortunately.

    It was also a shame that a rather long vault was pushed open in front of the final boss. That got me out of the momentum to finish now against this villain

    The biggest drawback for me is the ENDURANCE GAME PLAY! I don't know how many times I've cursed this. I had the normal bars + 3 or 4 additional ones, because then I hardly made any more vaults and it still cost me so much nerves. None of this was a problem in combat, but as soon as I started climbing, jumping, sliding, etc., I was literally bubbling inside. From my point of view, that could have been left out completely, except in combat. Especially the ascent to the mountain top in the snow area was cruel. That really took away a lot of fun from the game.

    But to end with a conciliatory word: The different areas were well chosen and resulted in a nice overall picture in the open world.

    Conclusion

    Probably a great introduction to this action-adventure open world and the Ubisoft formula, especially for younger people. For me personally, the game just didn't work in some places and is still in the good range due to its charm with 6/10 wings (it didn't stop me either).    … Expand

    Nice game, without being transcendant. It borrow almost everything to Assassin Creed and Breath of the Wild. Though it does some things better than the original works (better fights than AC, less frustrating survival mechanics than BOTW), it does fall short with mechanics which are here to artificially make the game longer (so many crests .. ) and break the narration.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. while the first part of the game where you collected the four gods to fight with you felt fun and fresh, the second part of the game with the huuuuge climb to Mt. Olympus felt rushed and boring.

    combat system is basically assassins creed + flying so if you like that, the combat system is good. most of the puzzles were also pretty fun, although some of those included in the main story line felt pretty forced.

    immortals doesn't try to be anything too new or groundbreaking, but for the most parts it is an enjoyable game.

    Decepcionante cuanto poco. Se ve a la legua lo que han intentado hacer pero en mi series X hace mucho ruido y el rendimiento no es fluido. He probado la demo en PS5 y ahí sí que va fluido. La experiencia es otra gracias a los gatillos apáticos.

    This is simply not a fun game. The joy of exploration is completely eliminated by the feature that allows you to discover anything within a multiple-mile radius at any time. Also, my saves were corrupted and I lost all my progress. Don't give Ubisoft your money for a product that will bug out and delete all your saves.

Two crashes happened while inside Vaults of Tartaros, which meant all my progress was lost for those entire puzzles. I've had Fenyx (and multiple enemies) get stuck in textures, fall through world terrain, and get (or be) hit when hitboxes are meters (in game) away. It's not as buggy as, say, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but it's still loaded with bugs. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game on the expansion card -- the problems persisted.

    And this is all very sad to write because the game itself is so much better than Valhalla or Watch Dogs Legion. It isn't some grimdark affair. It's colorful and dense and full of great snark, sarcasm, and groanworthy dad jokes. The art is fantastic, the world is a joy to look at and run around in. The combat, when it's not buggy, is much more fun and fluid than ACV. The sound is great and the music is top notch. If not for the bugs, I'd give this a solid 9. With the bugs, however, especially ones that cause crashes and loss of progress, it's staying at 7 for now.    … Expand

    The game is solid. It obviously takes heavy ques from Zelda botw. It has great polish and is a good game all around. It misses the mark on one of the things that botw did so so excellently. The exploration, while the game is filled to the brim with stuff in most nooks and crannies. It doesn't have the same draw that Botw did. The combat is decent if not a little on the repetitive side. I am enjoying the narration of Zeus and Prometheus. It runs silky smooth on my 8700k with 1080ti at a framelocked 60hz., and I have had 0 issues with bugs that I have yet noticed in about 5 hrs of play.

    Where it falls down is the in your face pushing of dlc and trying to sell skins for weapons and so forth. It makes it feel like a mobile game. It can be ignored. But it's there regularly. So far the vaults are relatively simple compared to the extremely clever Botw ones. But still enjoyable enough to warrant doing them.

    Ubisoft has simplified some things and made other more complex. It's more of a design thing and I feel some of it is done to push dlc and skins. If it wasn't for the in game store for purchases I would have made this a solid 8 maybe even a 9. If you enjoy Ubisoft games and don't mind the skin store you will enjoy this game. It's mostly family friendly from what I have seen although a few of the jokes may go over the head of the younger crowd.    … Expand

    Yes, this is Zelda on PC, but in Greek scenery and mythology. Ubisoft Quebec is good at combining gameplay and solid information on mythology in a humorous way that rarely happens. By the way, the humor in the game is great, I don't know why the critics decided that it was not funny.

    Ubisoft’s best game to date. I love every second of it. Graphics are breath taking, jokes are awesome especially if you have some knowledge of Greek mythology. Gameplay is so fun. Combat mechanics are well balanced. I mean what more can I ask for from this game. Absolutely brilliant!

    The game is about Greek mythology and you get some good chunks of history, presented in a light silly way (the humor isn't so cringe as some people told imho). You can choose male or female char and customize a little bit (not many options).

    The art-style is maybe a bit too simple, maybe a bit too colorful too, but when you are standing on a high point and look at the scenery, the game does look quite beautiful.

    I play it on PC, have played around 14 hours and can't put the controller down. Had 2 crashes yesterday and today none.

    I only have two things to nitpick about. The dashing while swimming is badly animated and feels off, while doing it.

    The other negative, which I don't like at all is the search mechanics to find all the POI on the map. You kind of have to scan with the cursor and get a short highlighted icon to tell you, that you are close to one. The problem is, to set a mark to a POI you really have to be precisely on the point. And there are a lot of points. It kind of is tedious and really takes away the fun.

    Give this game a chance, it got some hate. Check out some reviews and gameplay, this game is definitely one of the best games I played in a while.    … Expand

    Solid game, I love the art style and gameplay so far... The world is beautiful and full of places to go and things to do, However, The voice acting and animations are a bit off although that is such a small thing It did ruin the experience a tiny bit. Great game

    This is a great action adventure game with a mixture of Breath of the Wild and Assassin’s Creed gameplay elements blended together into one. It’s a strong recommendation for the holiday season.

    Bought this game on Uplay. It gets a zero because it does not function at all. I've been dicking around for 4 hours trying to get the game to launch with zero success. Might be worth updating this review if they fix it at some point. As it stands now the game is literally unplayable.

Tried the rename _plus.exe trick, moved to SSD on C, verified, uninstalled, reinstalled (multiple times) from both Epic and Ubisoft...still doesn't work. No crash logs, no anything, just instant crash on launch. Ubisoft support has been a complete joke and just regurgitates the same stupid "have you tried updating your drivers" trashBought from Epic, haven't been able to play still. Tried the rename _plus.exe trick, moved to SSD on C, verified, uninstalled, reinstalled (multiple times) from both Epic and Ubisoft...still doesn't work.     The game is set in Ancient Greece and casts players as Fenyx who must travel to set right the many things that have gone wrong along the way. Greek gods provide humorous narration to help move the    Immortals Fenyx Rising is a rare treat in that it is a game that did not come in with the massive wave of hype that usually accompanies a major release; yet delivers beyond expectations.

    The game is set in Ancient Greece and casts players as Fenyx who must travel to set right the many things that have gone wrong along the way.

    Greek gods provide humorous narration to help move the story along as there is lots for players to do and see in the game.

    Once a character is created; players will have to climb, swim, battle, and solve puzzles in a highly-detailed universe. While some may think the combat would be hack and slash being able to gain advanced weapons such as a divine axe and bow really help mix things up.

    The Arrow of Apollo as an example allows players to control the arrow in flight which is ideal for solving puzzles and making precisions shots. I also used it to scout an area by firing it into the air and using it to study the layout of the area.

    Puzzles are a big part of the game and being able to hold and throw large boulders is key to defeating large enemies as well as moving large objects onto pressure plates to open doors or move heavy objects into position.

    After each main mission; players will be able to obtain new powers by completing a challenge from the Gods. This usually involves jumping from objects, solving puzzles, and combat. Upon completion players will obtain a new device/ability which will help them going forward. I can tell you that having a set of wings really helped cover the map by being able to jump from a cliff and glide to a destination as long as my stamina holds up.

    One great mission had me move a large pearl across the land and down hills to the see. Not only was it fun and varied; but it also showed how the missions are not repetitions of the prior ones.

    I had several hours invested in the game before the area with the cosmetic options and upgrades arrived and the sheer scale of the game ensures that players will not find this a quick gaming experience.

    Combat is a mix of hack and slash and ranged combat; but I am a big fan of smashing enemies with large boulders when able.

    Some may have issues with the campy dialogue and delivery of the lines but this would be missing the point as the game is a fun and immersive adventure which will provide gamers with plenty of hours of enjoyment.

    Biggest surprise of the year!
    You can tell it's made by the studio that gave us "Assassin's Creed Odyssey" & "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands" ... It's very well crafted & FUN! That's the word: FUN.
    I'm really enjoying this game. Totally worth it.
    Can't wait for the China DLC!

Immortals Fenyx Rising takes what was fun in Breath of the Wild and expands upon it, while also removing annoying mechanics like weapons breaking, or using the pause menu to eat food. Even mount riding is improved!

    I really enjoy this visual style and find the environments very pleasing. I want to keep exploring and find items without marking them on the map, but also appreciate that items can be marked on the map for quests. No need for a separate quest menu...although I wouldn’t mind having one.

    The gameplay is fun! I enjoy the fighting and the dodging has a great balance. It seems some elements from Horizon Zero Dawn influenced the game! Enemies evolve, which keeps it fresh! I do enjoy the variety of enemy types as well.

    The Vaults have been very fun so far! I haven’t felt like they are too repetitive and they look amazing too!

    The only reasons this game is not a 10 for me are the in game cosmetic shop, cheesy acting/dialogue at times, and the game name change. Most of the dialogue has been entertaining and I haven’t wanted to skip, but the animations after making potions and upgrading seem out of place. These animations remind me of the 2015 Kings Quest series where some of the dialogue and acting just seemed out of place and overly hyperactive.

    I hope to see more games like this! Maybe using some other fantasy like Earthsea, Wheel of Time, Belgariad, etc.

    It's just as good as BOTW, no joke. While the raw exploration doesn't quite reach it's lofty heights, the combat, story and a bunch of Quality of life changes makes up for it making it a just as fun adventure. This is the best game Ubisoft has put out since Anno 1800, yes it's not very original, but a great game doesn't need to reinvent the wheel to be good, don't fix what's not broken.

    I have no idea how people rate this below 8. This is an incredible game. Interesting story, nice grafics, bitter smooth game play, nice rpg elements, thought through fighting, well implemented puzzles and overall just a fun experience with a very nice story and presentation. Must buy in my opinion.

The graphics are very different than usual, more like BotW I guess, but I like them very much (more so than in BotW).     The only shortcoming of this game seems to be the marketing, Immortals is by far the best Ubisoft game this year and they seem not to have gotten that across as well as they should have. I played Valhalla which was okay, I enjoyed Legion which was good, but this one is amazing in comparison.

    I sincerely hope Ubisoft will release a sequel to this some time, because it really deserves one already, even though I'm still going strong with dozens of hours in.    … Expand

    Love this game! It’s a nice break from the traditional hack and slash open world game by offering puzzles that challenge the gamer. It also has plenty of hack and slash when your in the mood for it. Good job UbiSoft!!

There is character development, though a lot of the game is seemingly based on 3 weapon styles - light, heavy, and bow - there is no magic or other type of class build limiting the 'god'.     Bom jogo, mistura bastantes elementos de Zelda BOTW e AC Odyssey, gostei muito da arte e da dublagem dos personagens, uma história bem legal e um toque de humor. O maior problema que vi foi a falta de otimização para o xbox one S, quedas de quadros constantes e travamentos que em algumas vezes me fizeram ter que fechar o game.

    Bought the game just because it was optimized for Series X, but what a wonderful surprise. The game is not super hard, like a relaxed game you can hop in, do some quests have some fun.
    Good gameplay and combat system, excelente grafics (YouTube videos don't make justice to the game, because of compression)

The puzzles in this game are wonderful and I'm amazed how they are all unique and fun to figure out and not repetitive. I absolutely love the different armor and weapon sets and how they each give different statistics that would suit your playstyle, that's how you're supposed to do loot instead of just stat number differences. I'm really excited to see what this studio releases next, I'll be first in line to buy their games. AC Odyssey is one of my favorite games if not the favorite game I've played.

    The only thing that I didn't like very much was the writing and comedy, but I get what they were going for, a light hearted fun game for everyone, It's not bad, it's just a lot of the times it's hit or miss. (The part with the chicken was hilarious) but still.. that's my only little issue about the game. Aside from that, everything else is fantastic.

    This is one of the few games where the developers really thought of everything and worked hard and actually cared about making a beautiful fun game.    … Expand

AMAZING powers and abilities ... world full of challenges and discoveries. And what I love most ... the Puzzles.     The world is bright and colorful but i also like the forced humor somehow. It reminds me of Fable. But like Fable, the fighting is a little too easy. Also the supposed greek accent is absolutely awful!

    This is by far my favourite game of 2020. There is so much to do and explore within such a stunning map. There are an array of tasks to do, specifically puzzles which can be tricky at certain points but once you find out how to accomplish them it is very rewarding.

    45 hours of gameplay which was better for me than AC Valhalla. Cool fights, great riddles and interesting world - all inspired by BOtW. I really had more fun playing it than Valhalla. Shame that the game is so underrated and not popular.

    Just played through this gem because of Gamepass. Loving my playthrough, well designed characters, and engaging puzzles. I think this game originally came out at a time where there were already a number of similar games that it was easy to miss this entry, but I'm happy to have given it a shot now.

    pour tout public
    j’ai beaucoup aimé la liberté de mouvement et de faire le jeu presque dans l’ordre que l’on veut.

    Les moins:

    la très grande majorité des trucs qu’on peut trouver en annexe sont totalement useless (de la cosmétique pour chaque arme, armures, etc…)
    j’aurais aimé des personnages beaucoup plus travaillé visuellement.
    un peu redondant au bout d’un moment
    des combats peu techniques et surtout un équipement qui finalement aussi complet soit il, ne sert pas à grand chose. En gros tout le système d’arme est à revoir pour moi (l’arc ne sert à rien en combat par exemple)    … Expand

Yet Fenyx develops their ownA much needed breath of fresh air - for xbox. Yet Fenyx develops their own (customizeable) identity that makes the game stand strong by itself, not a clone. Excellent movement system. LOTS of hidden things.

    The game is lighthearted. Humor is interjected through narration and the player character VO.
    There is diverse set of personalities in the gods. They really lean into the best and worst features and past stories.

    Again if you're looking for serious there's plenty of alternatives. The game gives you absolute freedom as to how you conquer the story (and in what order) which is so nice. Just take your time, focus on treasure hunting, tomb exploring and puzzle solving.. don't be in a rush to complete story. Lots of hidden details and narration.

    Zeus needs help, the greek gods are in trouble, all of the mortals are stone.. except for one of course.. you… you creae your character and its off to helping zeus and the rest of the gods in this open world puzzle game… and if there weren’t such a large emphises on the puzzle part, this game as series has such great potential… for starters this world is beautiful, though there are crashing issues is you play in pretty mode vs the run better mode on the playstations 5… here youll be running around, collecting items to craft consumables, find gear, and collect shards to upgrade your gear and character, run around and complete tasks for the different gods and gain new abilities.. if it stopped there I would be fine, run around this opwen world with sections that feel and look different enough reperesenting each god you help… all while the game hilariously narrates for you… a real highlight… I could’ve loved immortals fenyx.. but its insistence to try and be a breath of a wild clones, sucked away all of its charm and left immortals fenyx risings feeling like a good.. yet soulless game… its cookie cutter, and what were left with if unfun combat, and boring drug out puzzles.. the vaults are half of the game and theyre just awful.. they have their moments of being fun brain teasesers… but these puzzles show up way too frequently in your 13 plus hour journey… and I dreaded them every time.. im not a big fan of puzzles in general… but when theres essentially puzzle rooms vs environmental puzzles, I hate it even more… just let me build up my charcters, sneak around, tame and kill things while my boy zeus makes awful jokes.. that’s all I wanna do… but fenyx rising sortve blows its load for me.. if you’ve played journey to the savage planet.. it’s the same kind of thing… youre smacked with charm, mystery and immersion.. and then everything else feels lackluster in ocmparision to the greatness the adventure starts with…
    While I can appreciate that this is objectively a good game that plenty will love… for me this was a game that kept throwing school work at me when all I wanted to do was play at recess… and once I get out to recess its like oh, its raining.. youre playing in the gym today, not the playground like youre used to doing.. meaning that this world is just a chore to even get around in.. the whole stamina whil you run, climb, swim, and soar thing can be fun if done right.. its not done right here.. its annoying and just makes traversal not fun.. . but I am again just speaking for myself.. for me the combat gt stale fast, the traversal becomes annoying fast, and the puzzles get annoying boring and overwhelming fast… what am I doing playing this?
    for a lot of people though theyre hearing this review being all like. Yeha this is what I want, imam buy this right now.. I get it.. tis a good game, just not for me.

    Quando comecei a jogar fiquei extremamente empolgado principalmente por conta dos gráficos que são muito lindos, é o zelda da Ubisoft porém depois de algum tempo enjoei, o jogo ficou muito repetitivo.

    Even if the world is charming, the game gets very boring after a few hours. The story is dry and the puzzle are boring. I didnt enjoy the game. It felt very childish too. Some boring jokes here and there. Mehh. + The world had a good potential

    The Zelda breath of the wild theft is high but not well done. The levels that are akin to zelda shrines are realllllly a slog. They will burn you out late game and are a reason I almost didn't finish the game. They are not difficult but soooo repetitive. It took around 8 different puzzle stages to get to the last boss fight and they were all push the block or shoot the arrow through hoops puzzles done over and over again.
    The final boss fight is also just annoyingly tedious. You just need to spam your hits for like 30 min to win. Which kinda describes the game as a whole: spam hits, takes too long, story sucks.    … Expand

    Love the world. It has all the features I have been looking for in a game that not many games feature these days. All the god abilities are really fun to traverse the environment in. The story is fine and the narrating is funny and light-hearted. The combat feels pretty effortless and fun. I love customisation and levelling up skills by completing certain events in the world.     I'd give it 7.5. It's a very enjoyable game but the puzzles are too much and too repetitive.
    The combat is very fun, I liked some of the jokes and generally the light funny style.

    Immortals is more than just a fun open-world with slick combat and massive Breath of the Wild vibes, it's also a superbly written and legitimately funny take on Greek mythology. This is one of Ubisoft's best games in years.
