    If you take one thing away from this review, be it this; playing Haven is utterly mesmerising, a wonderfully written and performed tale of two lovers taking a chance on each other even at the cost of their very way of life. Yu and Kay have become two of my favourite characters this year, and even now I can’t help wonder where they will go next. Exploring Source is an exercise if joy, even when we have to repeat sections a few times, and there always feels like there is something else to find or see. It could have been a tad shorter, but when what’s here is this enjoyable I’ll allow it!

    Part of me wants to say Haven is my game of the year, but I should probably let the post-play buzz die down first. What I do know is that Yu and Kay will stick with me for a long time.

    At the end of the twenty hours required to complete it, Haven is confirmed as an intimate and daily love story, which rejects the pomposity of the epic to settle on the sweetness of adolescence. And it's a rarity in the gaming world.

    Haven is an uplifting and positive tale of a young couple setting out to make an alien planet their home. Yu and Kay are a likeable pair as you watch their relationship strengthen, the world of Source is a gorgeous place to explore, and the soundtrack is great as well. While the overarching story could be deeper and battles could be streamlined further, Haven is a game that offers a chilled out escape.

    Even when I was frustrated, I was impressed by the touching and thrilling moments Haven creates. I enjoyed the genuine connection between Yu and Kay, and jetting off into the unknown with a pair of hover-boots is a blast. But this otherworldly adventure extends itself too far beyond its strengths. Sometimes the rough patches are worth working through, but like any relationship, sometimes you’re just giving more than you’re getting.

    A charming surprise and should mark the genre of adventure game thanks to the quality of the writing, the few mechanics borrowed from RPGs, the possibility of playing as a duo and its accessibility.

I've played almost all of the games that the general public dubbed the best of the decade, and yet none of them have shown me such an honest and well-written relationship as Haven can.     I'm a complete sucker for story-focused games where the gameplay works for the story without getting in the way. Haven completely knocks this out of the park with such a beautiful experience.

    Haven is easily the best thing I've played in a long time. I can't wait to see what The Game Bakers brings for their next game.    … Expand

    - how every game mechanics are connected and related to the story
    - it has ZERO bugs - something AAA productions cannot active nova days
    - the level of user accessibility customisation is one of the best I ever saw

    No es difícil ni mucho menos largo, la recolección se hace algo normal que no es necesario hacer en exceso y con cada salida a explorar consigues lo que necesitas para seguir avanzando sin pasar horas de grindeo o farmeo, es muy bonito y altamente recomendable pese a sus carencias como RPG    … Expand

    La daube du jour est un indé et inversement, l’indé du jour est une daube sous couvert ou plutôt le prétexte habituel du jeu « poétique » dontLa daube du jour est un indé et inversement, l’indé du jour est une daube sous couvert ou plutôt le prétexte habituel du jeu « poétique » dont la direction artistique semble tout droit sortie d’une poubelle fluo ! du mauve et du violet, un peu de bleu turquoise… mais pas grand-chose de plus puisqu’on est limité aux 16 couleurs réglementaires de la charte des étrons indés !

    Attention tout de même, c’est tout en 3 dimensions et ça peut même tourner sur la Switch de chez Nintendaube (en 360pet à 25 im/s) ainsi que sur console de salon : ça doit être au moins de la kat-ka, d’autant que c’est optimisé par exemple pour Series X|S ! ton étron inday plein de poésie, il tourne du coup nickayl à 60 im/s, putain ! quoique… pas en mode « qualité » mais en mode « performance » parce qu’en « qualité » on constate des ralentissements… dingue, ça… y a pourtant putain de rien à afficher mais bon…. voilà les branques quoi.

    Y a également putain de rien à jouer à part ramasser des merdes en glissant trop vite comme un hydroglisseur ou en marchant à 0,5 km de l’heure (c’est tout l’un ou tout l’autre). Quant aux « combats », on se croirait dans un ersatz de « jeu de rôle » japonais avec un tour par tour à deux yens boulotté par des baltringues.

    Et quant à l’histoire (?!) de ce couple, c’est à dormir debout et à bailler d’ennui : le style est d’ailleurs très manga et très niais, le tout avec des voix (anglaises uniquement) qui doublent des dialogues lénifiants alors que la musique d’ascenseur Bontempi omniprésente fait le reste !    … Expand
