    Like GTA5, company just re-releasing the same game(s) with little too no effort to improve, solely for the purpose of the almighty dollar. Rockstar’s credibility has gone downhill and the proof is in the product. Company now cares more about squeezing the fans wallets than putting out a good product to earn revenue the right way. Asking full price for this half assed collection is criminal.

    I am completely comfortable dropping a heavy 0.0 on this whole trilogy despite having only played San Andreas because the controversies surrounding the trilogy and the utter absence of care and effort make this game the least playable game in history. Everyone likes to complain about how many times Skyrim is re-released and how EA and Activision don't put care into their games, but Rockstar has yet again blown their competition out of the water, this time in the market of lacking dignity and human decency.

    I'm sure everyone has seen the rain by now so I don't even need to address that debacle. For the most part the San Andreas "remaster" is just the assets and code of the original San Andreas transferred to Unreal Engine 4 directly with nothing modified to actually work with the new engine. Every texture looks like the original textures blown-up to 4K by a particularly unintelligent AI, the most basic reflection shader they could find was applied to only the vehicles and they updated the music they were allowed to keep and the SFX to have a higher bitrate. That's it. Those are the ONLY THREE improvements.

    The voicelines have the same sound quality, the models look and act uncannily because they do not like the Unreal Engine, the updated gunplay is miserable, the GTA V additions ruin the game with how few-yet-severe alterations they made to the game, and they removed cheats because they allegedly don't work well with Unreal Engine 4 (yet they didn't bother fixing any of the actual issues caused by Unreal Engine 4 not getting along with the game).

    The controversy of all the Cease & Desist letters sent out to people actually making passionate remasters of these games hanged this game before it had a chance to do anything and the obvious lack of experience that Grove Street Games has, if they were even honest about having any at all, was the snap of this game's neck at the metaphorical gallows.    … Expand

    GTA: The Definitive Edition for the most part has been a huge letdown. From poor frame rates, numerous bugs, poor updated models and more. The Rockstar Games of old are dead and gone. Replaced by a corporate machine that focuses on max profits for least effort. The Definitive Edition serves as a huge middle finger to the fans that have been requesting it for many, many years.     El juego en si esta muy bien, pero me gustaría destacar el punto de que si bien este juego se trata de el juego original más un mod gráfico, no deja de ser una mala optimización. Cuando colocas el juego en “modo rendimiento” pese tengas la Xbox series X o la PS5 cuando hay un poco de tráfico, ya sean 6-7 vehículos en un punto el juego va a tirones y bajas graves de rendimiento, cuando esEl juego en si esta muy bien, pero me gustaría destacar el punto de que si bien este juego se trata de el juego original más un mod gráfico, no deja de ser una mala optimización.     This is pathetic, utterly embarrassing. I can't believe they dared release this in the state it is. It is about as definitive as as a VHS tape that's been played 4 billion times, & stored in a damp shed for 20 years.

    On this version you cannot even complete Bloodbowl because it will crash the game. 100% is impossible.
    Also:
    I cannot believe we got such a downgrade from the original versions. I would be fine if they just release this and had left alone the older versions, but no.     disappointing I expected much more from Rockstar, Although the games are good (because the originals are well made) and they do not have critical errors that I know they are mediocre games without desire and without any kind of respect for the consumer or the original games and what they represent

    I can’t believe a genre like gta, and even more, coming from a giant like rockstar games would let me down like this. I can’t describe the hopes I had and I can’t believe that some random modders are able to create greater visual mods than a multi billion dollar company. Shame on you rockstar. I’m pretty concerned about how they might ruin the gta 6.

    Got this game thinking it would be a fun way to experience the classic gta games turned out to be a rushed job cut corners and is in a worse state then the original games for ps2 and xbox

    Rockstar perdió su credibilidad que los caracterizaba al poner a un equipo lleno de incompetentes como lo es Grove Street Games (War Drum Studios) a realizar esta trilogía, aunque nada se podía esperar del mismo “equipo”que realizó la versión del 10 aniversario de los tres GTA, ¿que tenemos? Tenemos un mapa que le faltan partes ( un puente desaparece cerca de Ángel Pine), caídas de FPS,Rockstar perdió su credibilidad que los caracterizaba al poner a un equipo lleno de incompetentes como lo es Grove Street Games (War Drum Studios) a realizar esta trilogía, aunque nada se podía esperar del mismo “equipo”que realizó la versión del 10 aniversario de los tres GTA, ¿que tenemos? Tenemos un mapa que le faltan partes ( un puente desaparece cerca de Ángel Pine), caídas de FPS, diseños horribles para algunos personajes, Bugs, bugs y más BUGS, y la lluvia Hombre, es la lluvia más horrible que he visto en años en un video juego, llueve dentro de algunos interiores, si se mira el mar mientras llueve esta como que se mete detrás del mar, y cuando llueve en las noches hace injugable esto, ya que no deja ver nada, esto es sin duda lo peor del año, está a la par o inclusive peor que CyberPunk 2077, al menos ese juego se veía medio acabado, pero es que está dizque “edición definitiva” no parece ni una beta, parece una pre Alfa, un insulto para toda la comunidad Gamer, y especialmente para nosotros los fans de GTA y una falta de respeto para esta clásica trilogía, de verdad que lo poco bonito que tiene es opacado por los incontables errores que tiene, una decepción completa, no lo recomiendo comprar hasta que lo arreglen.… Expand

    The old game was amazing, fabulous in many words but this so called "The Definitive Edition" is not what we asked for years ago. I believe many Grand Theft Auto fans share the same opinion therefore in conclusion: This game is **** horribly looking.

    WHY cannot a Series X (the most powerful console) run 60fps these games with full graphics??? There is Last of Us 2 on PS4 Pro from the last generation, it looks beautiful and it runs ON THAT console 30fps. PS5 can run that 1440p with 60fps. This games look like ****, not as modern games and how cannot run 60fps? Why must I choose between 60 and 30fps with these graphics on presentWHY cannot a Series X (the most powerful console) run 60fps these games with full graphics???     This comeback of the three GTA classics feels superficial and poorly optimized, although some improvements are clearly visible. It's not the remaster we were hoping for, but these are still immortal classics that can still entertain and sometimes even amaze. And sometimes that's all we need.
