    This game is bad. Straight up this game includes:
    - Very bad and buggy physics
    - Terrible graphical mods that change important core graphic elements (like fog) from the original
    - The rain is blinding and looks so bad to the point where its unplayable
    And many more. Please don't get this terrible game.

    This was just a lazy cash grab. 60 dollars for 3 twenty year old games that perform and look worse then they were on the Playstation 2. Rockstar should be held accountable for this scam but its reality, and they won't. So people should stop buying their games, but they won't.

Rockstar has been in the toilet for years now over milking GTA V’s online the same way Bethesda has been milking Skyrim, but atleast Bethesda makes other games! it’s been almost 8 years and all we’ve had is a horse riding simulator (i do like RDR but it’s no gta.)… Expand

    I can’t believe a genre like gta, and even more, coming from a giant like rockstar games would let me down like this. I can’t describe the hopes I had and I can’t believe that some random modders are able to create greater visual mods than a multi billion dollar company. Shame on you rockstar. I’m pretty concerned about how they might ruin the gta 6.

    Absolutely disgusting remaster. Cyberpunk looks like polished art compared to this trilogy. Full of bugs, terrible looking characters, bad graphic and performance. You can't buy legally classic editions of thoose game becouse of this cash grab. Shame on you Rockstar. San Andreas Definitive Edition is not worth to play even on gamepass. 0/10

Result: when flying over Los Santos, you can see the other two cities in San Andreas, which creates the feeling of being in a small sandbox. In the other two games the feeling is even bigger. Not only that, but it also makes it more noticeable when objects that were previously in low polygons render right in front of you; facilitated minigames, removing the challenge from them (pool game, low rider battle, weight training); broken or missing animations (in any physical shape, whether thin, fat or muscular, CJ now always has the skinny animations); the "updated gameplay" is actually worse and less intuitive than the PS2 originals. Aiming is especially bad and NPCs get a glowing outline around their bodies when they're in your sights, much like a mobile game like Gangster City or other mobile GTA derivatives; Control mapping is not designed to cover all forms of locomotion. If you fix it for cars, it's bad for Hydra. Fix it for Hydra and it's bad for jetpack, etc.; chose to keep the cartoon art direction of the originals but the result, particularly as far as the character models are concerned, is something of a gigantic uncanny valley. With the exception of Claude, protagonist in GTA III, all other characters, including Claude himself in his appearance in GTA San Andreas, in addition to the other protagonists, minor characters and NPCs are not only weird-looking but less detailed compared side-by-side with the originals; aside from bugs in smartphone versions, it adds several new ones. From visuals to gameplay, in cutscenes and beyond; Terrible weather effects. Rain, for example, falls a layer behind the game's water, whether from rivers, lakes or ocean. That is, the raindrops "disappear" when they pass above the ocean from the player's point of view. Some players have reported headaches caused by looking at this rain effect for a long time. Clouds became JPEGs in a static sky, where before it was possible to go "inside" them while riding a Hydra, giving the feeling of high altitudes; the nitro of the cars doesn't do the increased motion blur effect, which used to bring a sense of speed; in GTA San Andreas, some weapons are as well detailed as the M4 rifle, while others like the AK47 are less detailed in the character's hand than those that adorn the interior of the Los Santos Police Station and, finally, the performance. The collection runs locked at 30 frames per second on 8th gen consoles and has frame drops even on high-end PCs or new gen consoles. GTA V is a game with much more information, textures and heavy effects to be read and has a much more stable performance within the same setup that struggles to maintain 60 frames in GTA The Trilogy.

    The summary: it's a trilogy that updates the graphics of the originals while maintaining fidelity to gameplay and art direction, though that means sacrificing improvements that would be welcome in these areas. It doesn't justify the price, nor the removal of originals from digital stores, as they are by no means worthy replacements.    … Expand

    Terrible remaster. Nothing more than a quick cashgrab from Takedown Two which are the same **** with an anti-modding stance and that took down numerous mods and sued modders because they came up with something far better than this terrible remaster.

The fact Rockstar have the gall to charge £60 for this dumpster fire and call it a "Definitive Edition" is laughable and just outright insulting. These games deserved so much better.     I tried, multiple times, to play this Trilogy.

    Compared to most I'm a very forgiving reviewer. I liked Anthem, I enjoyed The Division & I thought Mass Effect 3's ending was genuinely great.

    This "Definitive Edition" is awful. Terrible graphics on Xbox Series X, messed up AI & the world feels completely empty.

    I've never given a game a 0 before but this deserves it. For shame Rockstar.

There is Last of Us 2 on PS4 Pro from the last generation, it looks beautiful and it runs ON THAT console 30fps. PS5 can run that 1440p with 60fps. This games look like ****, not as modern games and how cannot run 60fps?     There have been many examples recently of remade classic games, or even touched up. The biggest single issue with this release is the price point of £60. If you pay that money you expect much more to be done with the games then what has been done. Had these three been released in this state at say - £10-£15 - then you would not be seeing these scores.     One of the worst ports by a company people had faith in. Across the board, less impressive than the nodding community made of the original and pretty disgusting to release in this state. Literally unplayable in places also and several hard crashes. Vote with your wallet and don't support this method of fix it later game development as it will only get worse.

    I'm used to lazy remaster versions, but I bought the Definitive Edition anyways. Some parts look better, many, especially characters, look horrible. I was able to play San Andreas for a few hours, but wasn't even able to start GTA III or Vice City, before they removed all three games from the store and my library, because they left data in it, they didn't want to. I was able to play San Andreas for a few hours, but wasn't even able to start GTA III or Vice City, before they removed all three games from the store and my library, because they left data in it, they didn't want to. That is their major fault. So I demanded a refund, but Rockstar did not refund anything. They have not held up their end of the sales contract and are additionally customer unfriendly. So I bought an inferior game trilogy for 60€ and get nothing return. Shame on you!… Expand

    This remaster is a joke and just a cash grab. Doing the bare minimum and stíl made a 20 year old game worse on modern consolse. The fact they hid the gameplay before launch and took down the old versions to charge full price was two fingers to consumers.

Everyone likes to complain about how many times Skyrim is re-released and how EA and Activision don't put care into their games, but Rockstar has yet again blown their competition out of the water, this time in the market of lacking dignity and human decency.

    I'm sure everyone has seen the rain by now so I don't even need to address that debacle. For the most part the San Andreas "remaster" is just the assets and code of the original San Andreas transferred to Unreal Engine 4 directly with nothing modified to actually work with the new engine. Every texture looks like the original textures blown-up to 4K by a particularly unintelligent AI, the most basic reflection shader they could find was applied to only the vehicles and they updated the music they were allowed to keep and the SFX to have a higher bitrate. That's it. Those are the ONLY THREE improvements.

    The voicelines have the same sound quality, the models look and act uncannily because they do not like the Unreal Engine, the updated gunplay is miserable, the GTA V additions ruin the game with how few-yet-severe alterations they made to the game, and they removed cheats because they allegedly don't work well with Unreal Engine 4 (yet they didn't bother fixing any of the actual issues caused by Unreal Engine 4 not getting along with the game).

    The controversy of all the Cease & Desist letters sent out to people actually making passionate remasters of these games hanged this game before it had a chance to do anything and the obvious lack of experience that Grove Street Games has, if they were even honest about having any at all, was the snap of this game's neck at the metaphorical gallows.    … Expand

Not much new content, partially ugly graphics and some songs of the classic games are missing. But the missions and style of the three games are undefeated. If you never played the first three 3D GTAI understand all the bad reviews for Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.     Everything is glitchy and broken. Random npcs doing the t pose. Cars just flying in the air while driving. I can't believe they took what I thought was the greatest game ever san Andreas and destroyed it. They should have done a full remake in the GTA V engine. This was a cheap money grab. All future games will be this way.

    Like GTA5, company just re-releasing the same game(s) with little too no effort to improve, solely for the purpose of the almighty dollar. Rockstar’s credibility has gone downhill and the proof is in the product. Company now cares more about squeezing the fans wallets than putting out a good product to earn revenue the right way. Asking full price for this half assed collection is criminal.

    It sucks hard because cockstar just sell us nostalgia and it didn't even captured the good old gta sa and here's more, the **** character model is creepy as **** it is just pure nightmare the character faces is like glued together and they are just still no emotion at all.
