    Okay, but nothing to write home about.

    Main story is a straightforward "good vs bad". Main character comes with a somewhat interesting twist, all others don't have much depth. Ship handling and combat feel fine, ship upgrades are grind-based. And boy, there is a lot of grind intended. As you travel from A to B, you are constantly tempted by "unknown signals" and "distress calls",    Okay, but nothing to write home about.

    Ship handling and combat feel fine, ship upgrades are grind-based. And boy, there is a lot of grind intended. As you travel from A to B, you are constantly tempted by "unknown signals" and "distress calls", which lead to procedurally generated encounters from a pretty small pool which gets old really fast. Yes, I mean the industry-standard "destroy base/outpost", "kill X bad guys".. does that really make the game bigger and betterr? I think not.
    In the last third of the game that becomes even more obvious, as the game keeps taking you through rather long and boring flights from one gate to another.

    There are some fairly well-designed puzzles, wish their number was higher.

    I've completed the main story in 27 hours, of which I'd say at least 4 were spent waiting for the ship to reach its destination. I've done some light grinding, which yielded me 4 out of 6 unlocked ship perks and 1/6 in each ship upgrade category. I dread to think how much time is intended to max out everything.

    Luckily, some other games are coming out soon. This one's fine for a few evenings, but personally I won't be coming back.    … Expand

    I`m loving the game so far! The game just remembers me the times i played Freelancer a long time ago...
    A fast paced combat, with some nice ship options, with different play stiles, plenty of weapons to test and master... to be 10/10, just need to fix some stutter and loading problems.

    The game is really a 10, but I have to give it a 9 because of the stuttering issues on Xbox Series X that occur during space battles. I am sure they will be patched since the PS5 version runs without issue. Great open world, excellent mission design and 60 FPS (something Starfield can’t even do). I thought Chorus was a great game, but Everspace 2 tops it in every way.     I really enjoy the game so far but it has some huge stutter issues. Hopefully this can be patched quickly.

    It's a bit different from Everspace 1 - now it's more like a space action RPG and no roguelite anymore. Personally I think that's a good choice! It offers a lot of depth, many customisation options & the combat is fun. The story seems interesting too but I haven't finished it yet.

    The game is very good. Story, gameplay, space combat, rpg concepts.
    I also like the idea of ​​the vastness of space, even if it is finite.

    What a vast improvement over the first Everspace, which was already pretty fun. More progression, save options, RPG elements and no rogue-like stuff was a good move. Graphics and gameplay are awesome, crafting and customization is robust, and the story is interesting only 7 hours in. The quests and weak score are becoming a bit monotonous however and I can see how after 20 hours one mightWhat a vast improvement over the first Everspace, which was already pretty fun.     A sequel doesn't do much to be a sequel, but offers plenty of things to do regardless.

    Everspace 2 has provided a quality example of how a sequel can excel from the original. While the game may be overshadowed by another recent space adventure game out there, Everspace 2 is so good and well-built that people may start to be saying "Star what?". While I still hold the belief that the majority of Kickstarter games either under deliver, fail miserably, or even cheat their backers out of money, when games like Everspace 2 come around, it's no surprise why these are the titles that deserve to be highlighted as examples of near perfection that, unlike the Easter Bunny, do exist. If you are looking for a highly polished, incredibly fluid and well-developed space combat game, don't look to the stars, look to Everspace 2.

    EVERSPACE 2 will hold your interest well. It’s likely to be a game that you go back to, time and time again, working with new loot and trying a variety of different approaches.
