everything a rogue like should not be, terrible combat, it´s floaty mushy and very laggy. nothing has any impact. the skills are bland and uninteresting. the art style is alright, but with the flat low contrast backgrounds, it´s often a guessing game which parts are supposed to be traversable or not.
don´t be fooled by the trailer you have to play it yourself to truly appreciate how

it seems nobody working on the game has actually ever played a video game, let alone a rogue like.

As much as Death or Treat wants to fall on the treat side of the equation, we felt tricked. We were completely sold on its charismatic art style, and were prepped for roguelike joys. But the levels are too much of a slog, the enemies artlessly created and - fatally - the combat is limp.
