Jun 2, 2026Chainstaff is a cruel and challenging side-scroller that has a brilliant retro edge. It is gory, tough, and wonderfully dated. However, the controls are a little clunky and the story is somewhat cheesy. Yet, if you can overlook these issues, you'll love every moment.

Apr 20, 2026ChainStaff is an interesting proposition. The gameplay is hard, brutal even, and trial and error is encouraged to see what you can do to use the ChainStaff to defeat foes. With multiple difficulty levels to go at, and a series of increasingly hard levels, mastering the traversal mechanic and the ChainStaff is vital. But also very good fun.
