Dove Tail Games is the HB studios of the fishing sim world and like HB studios should stay away from making golf sims, Dove Tail Games shouldDove Tail Games is the HB studios of the fishing sim world and like HB studios should stay away from making golf sims, Dove Tail Games should stay away from making fishing sims. The game has improved since Fishing SIm World but at this rate they'll make a decent game by 2050.

    Pros:
There are a lot of real equipment and bait manufactures in the game and plenty of ways to rig your rods and baits that mimic real life. There are quite a few maps to fish and a variety fo species to go after. The fish size realism and fighting realism has improved, no more catching 15lb bass anywhere on a lake. That's about it for the positives.

    Cons:
The graphics are better but still bad. This is a Xbox Series X game that looks like games from 5 years ago and that is inexcusable considering they are using the Unreal Engine. The movements of the character and boat are mechanical. The lakes are often much smaller than the provided map. You'll think you can make a long run and explore this massive lake only to find out you've been cornered in by bouys. Dove Tail didn't even bother to do research on the bodies of water they included. The St. Johns doesn't have spotted or small mouth bass. It's like the developer didn't even care to look to see what species actually lives in the water they chose they just slapped whatever fish into whatever lake. They provided a nice underwater view for your lure retrieve but your lure is just a motionless graphic. Crank baits should wobble, soft plastics should curl, top water should make water splash. These are literally all things that games 10 years ago were doing that modern developers can't even get right at a basic level.

Field and Stream Trophy Bass for the PC got it right all those years ago and to me Bass Landing for the PS1 is still the best fishing sim I've ever played. These are games that are almost 20 years old that got fish behavior and lake detail right. Things that Dove Tail Games can't even seem to grasp.

Overall the game is an improvement over their previous attempts at a bass fishing game but they need to get it together. Either make a sim or an arcade style game. Make a choice. I bought it at half price or I would rate it lower.

Dove Tail Games, stick to Euro fishing because you aren't good at this.
