    You are Ayre, a young woman with a rare companion: the last living dragon. In the hopes of finding where your dragon came from you have spent the last few years travelling far and wide. Finally you have uncovered the homelands of an ancient dragon-riding people, the Skyriders.

    Together you and your dragon search for clues to the lost civilization of the Skyriders.

    Oh and figure out what's going on with this weird Crystal Comet while you're at it.

    From the premise alone, Ayre and the Crystal Comet raised interest levels, but from there, things go wrong. The lack of combat and action is a worry, and that means this very much comes in line with the likes of the Aery and Life of Fly series of games. But that’s not helped by the fact that Ayre and the Crystal Comet can occasionally verge into the unplayable; buggy and putting you off completion.

    Ayre and the Crystal Comet is a poor example of the genre. With badly optimised visuals, clumsy controls, and a world devoid of life, this will leave you wanting. On top of this, you can walk through the trees, the swimming animation is awful, and the less we say about the dragon and Ayre, the better! However, it isn't all doom and gloom. No, thankfully, the audio is good; the UI is well-considered, and there is plenty to do. Had the developer spent more time optimising the experience, then the game would have been much improved.
