Assassins Creed Valhalla brings a new experience to Assassins Creed, an experience where choices actually matter. Where looting matters. Where upgrading your settlement matters. Valhalla focuses on story instead of endlessly grinding your character for a higher gear set and creating your own unique build. Everything in Valhalla matters, from weapons to gear. A great experience for old AC fans and new ones.

This is the worst Assassin's Creed game so far. I was hoping that it would be better then Odyssey but sadly it's not. First of all it's NOT an Assassin's Creed. And guess what : STILL A LOT OF GLITCHES BUT 482 DLCS ! The game is so broken that it's not even fun. And the DLCs are just boring stories... Again. What made be fall in love with the franchise is everything that the franchise offers, and soundtracks are a big part of it. ALL the games have insane soundtracks. Sadly Valhalla is the ONLY GAME OF THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE with **** soundtracks like that. Sorry but Jesper Kyd let me down on that one. The map is so huge but so empty. I know that Ubisoft want to do 300 hours game but come on, at least put some good stories and side quests... This game is a disgrace to the Assassin's Creed franchise, at this point Ubisoft should reconsider to rename their boring games. Everything is bad in this game. Expand

Impressed with this game. The map is very cool to explore, the music is great, the story (on AC standards) is good but can be a bit too repetitive. There are too many characters that don't need to be there and this drags the pacing. The gameplay overall is enjoyable.

Combat is only somewhat challenging until you unlock powers then it quickly becomes repetitive and dull since you can just spam power over and over. There's the base building meta and raids but they are just tedious. Gear is scarce and expensive to upgrade so you will pick one and stick with it for the rest of the game.

Graphics and setting: This is no Unity. The towns quickly blend together as they all look the same. The graphics are nice but the color palette is so dull that it really makes no difference.

Character: Malaka! Might as well be a genderless blob. No memorable character to speak of. Goes along with any violence and throws a fit when someone disagrees with them.

Verdict: buy on deep sale or better yet play Odyssey again.

    The Good:

    -Beautiful world
    -Good gameplay
-Eivor and a few (very few) other characters
    -Settlement and other mini-games
    The Bad:

    -Dumb AI
-Even though the world is beautiful, it's too big with too many activities
-Custom difficulty settings - What is up with this?? after 70h, I set everything on the easiest option just to finish the game quicker. The game already felt empty, so kinda glad actually.
-THE STORY- I've been an AC fan since Altair and enjoyed, more or less, most of them, but Valhalla is incredibly boring. It made me invest so little in it. Honestly found myself feeling tired and yawning so many times. Sad, because it used to be all about the story... :(

Repetitive and padded. This feels like a big step back from odyssey. The removal of sidequests makes levelling harder and the leap in recommended level just keeps growing from section to section.

On top of that the characters and story are quite dull. It's a 20 hour game that's been painfully stretched over 60 hours. Content for the sake of content.

You can also choose a reduced HUD in order to enjoy more natural exploration (hands down for this). The main story is really good, sides quests are interesting, etc. You can also experience part of the game as an Assassin, following the line of older titles. The only aspect that I didn't like is the RPG component that make the game a little bit farmy, although it doesn't get to Odyssey's level or Shadows of War's. Finally, I should mention that I've experience two game breaking bugs so far as a result of the last update: flickering characters and crashes. I hope they fix this issue or I'd have to edit this review accordingly. I rate this game a 9 over 10 considering that 10 is Red Dead Redemption 2 levels of quality and design in the open world genre.

Yes it is! Deal with it!

Now it's solid open-world AC game, but sadly it's not better than Black Flag. I just wish story/mission design was more interesting or unique. Black Flag had all kinds of unique mission designs and also story was better. In Valhalla missions aren't that interesting, but there's still many fun ones. But true star of Valhalla is it's open world and freedom to do whatever you feel like. That's what was missing from AC 1 for me, because these games can simply be so much more than just generic assassination games. AC is not and should not be Hitman. AC should be ALWAYS compared to games like GTA or Red Dead Redemption. You can do so much more in these games than just the basic story stuff and that same logic should apply to AC and most people seem to understand that. It seems to be minority who complains that AC is not so linear anymore. Most people seem to like that freedom and more activities. This open world is there for a reason! Might as well fill that open world with content and that's what Ubisoft did in both Black Flag and Valhalla, even Unity and Syndicate. That is the right direction.

Better graphics than Elden Ring, that's for sure. Overall this game surprised me, it's not best AC game, but it has more to offer than Odyssey or Origins. Story is not most interesting thing in this game, but open world and exploration makes this game solid. I still wish they would go back to Black Flag/Unity era tho.

Stuning story, great open world, nice quest, settlement expansion, river invasions and much more new ideas for interresting gameplay. What I appreciate the most is the combat - very immersive, precise, well developed - the best in series.

The only thing I could change is world colors - sometimes too much colorful - I prefer much more real colors of grass, trees, etc...similar to RDR2.... but I understand that it depends on your taste.

Problems with motion tracking – teleportation, getting stuck in climbing, getting suck with mount

Sound problems – things sound off everywhere with different dynamic range, different pitch, dialogues/ambient/music all sound different with some things sounding super low quality or like from under water.

Model recycling – game has like 50 character models and main characters often reused for NPC models

Lots of recycled missions/areas from Origins/Odyssey

I'm almost at the end of the story and just forcing myself to complete the game because i've endured so much suffering getting to the point where I'm so giving up is not an option.

Lots of glitches: glitched quests, glitched drunken, glitched regen, glitched graphics.

Quality of Life Deterioration: torches are useless at dark places and at night still can't see anything, climbing types of walls may look the same but some can't be climbed, eagle sight useless, talents basically useless as the whole game can be completed without investing anything into any talents, Itemization useless as the whole game best weapons are at start and in the end, tedious rinse repeat tasks of breaking in houses with blocked doors and climbing between 2-3 towers for a chest with 1 paper inside.

This game should have been an expansion pack for Odyssey as it doesn't bring any quality of life improvements rather brings quality of life deterioration.

I had much much much more smooth experience in Origins and Odyssey than in Valhalla.

The difference? You can’t slip these boring main missions, whereas in odyssey, side mission could be skipped if you started them and didn’t enjoy; whereas now, since it’s part of the main mission, I’m forced to sit through boring mission that I really found uninteresting. That’s coupled with the fact that the characters are different in each sequence. It barely builds on story so not as much depth can be reached in terms of over arching story. Yes there’s some things that tie in, but I would have liked one long story to progress, much like Odyssy’s search for the parents/brother. In Valhalla, there isn’t much purpose to everything that you’re doing other than “gaining allies” and that propose remains the same each time you start a new sequence. There just no development and it all just blended into one which I really didn’t enjoy. In addition, the bird can’t mark targets anymore! So there’s isn’t really much use to using it. There are some pros though, combat was refined. Graphics are better than ever and there are some interesting modern day elements. But damn is this game long and filled with boring content! It's very obvious that more people actually like Valhalla way more than Odyssey. It's their best selling PC game of all time! i just feel Ubisoft fans are hiding in the shadows. They are too mature to argue on internet. They don't care about pointless drama. They just want to enjoy games. But i feel like sometimes Ubisoft fans should fight back stronger. Yeah it's cool you praise these things on reddit, but there's way more important sites and metacritic is one of them.

No youtuber never mentions some random reddit "praise post" but they always show metacriti'c user score and these videos get 100 000's on views. This is manipulation 101. I know it's pathetic, because metacritic user score is most meaningless thing on this planet, but fact is, that these people are using it. It's just bunch of losers, usually some tasteless crackwatch-reddit users who hate on Ubisoft in general. They don't even play their games, they don't even care about their games. They are just pathetic, whiny losers and nothing else.

When Far Cry 6 comes out in few month, i guarantee, bunch of Ubisoft haters (who will never buy Far Cry 6 btw) start giving it 0/10 scores and i feel like this time Ubisoft fans really, really need to fight back. It has gone too far. Cdproject red released most talentless game in 20 years and these people still try to praise it, while hating on Ubisoft's perfectly decent games that actually work. Like i said, these scores don't matter at all, they never did, never will, but i feel like Ubisoft fans (and there are millions) should for once actually try to fight back, even if it's just to annoy these haters. Even that would be worth it.

It has nothing to do with company. Ubisoft has made lots of games i don't care about at all (Breakpoint, Division 2, For Honor, Crew 2) and if Valhalla would be one of these bad games i would ignore it as well, but that's not the case. Valhalla simply isn't bad game. It's just not and nothing, absolutely nothing will change that fact.

And a small complaint Eivor is just too small, I assume to accommodate the female version they've made the male version tiny and it just looks dumb. Not the worst in the series because Odyssey exists but easily a close second to last.

The phrase "as vast an ocean with the depth of a puddle" comes to mind. The combat is dull and repetitive, the stealth doesn't work, the "distrust" system is completely pointless. I feel it's important to preface this review addressing one of the more common criticisms - that the game lacks the "Assassin's Creed" identity. For me personally, I've never been able to get into the franchise, mainly because, like Final Fantasy, it has built on its narrative for over a decade, to the point where I feel overwhelmed to start my journey as a completely new player. However, I've always found the Anglo-Saxon era of history very interesting, so I decided to give this a try to experience a game set in that era more than the Assassin's Creed lore itself. Over 200 hours of play-time later, which is an astonishing length for a SIngle-Player AAA nowadays, I came away shocked at how much I enjoyed the overarching Assassin's Creed narrative, and I feel energised to play the older games and connect the dots together. I feel it serves as a brilliant entry point into the series for casuals like myself, whilst also offering a deep, cognitive narrative that breathes new life and lore details into the very early games of the franchise.

It really surprised me how multi-layered the story became. You play as a Norse Viking, Eivor, looking to conquer England with her clan. Through your journey, you make and break friendships, bonds, oaths, lovers, brothers, kings and thegns. Each region of England follows its own seperate, unique story, in the wider goal of pacifying the land from Saxon rule. On top of that, there's the blend of Norse Mythology and Isu Mythology portrayed through Asgard and Jotunheim that later spills into Eivor's timeline as well in some expertly crafted twists and turns. On top of that, you have the "Order of the Ancients", a cult-like group that have weaved their way into power to push a new order into the world, later revealed to be the predecessor for The Templars. On top of all of that, you have the modern day storyline and the reason why the Animus is set up onto Eivor in the first place. It's exceptionally compelling when pieced together.

The visuals are absolutely gorgeous, one of the best games I've ever played in that regard. Especially in 4K display on XSX, it runs at a smooth 60fps in Performance Mode with no obvious dips, even in the most chaotic moments. The soundtrack is....phenomenal. Really quite special. it made me pre-order the vinyl.

I truly believe this is one of the best games released in recent years. I'm surprised at the amount of negative spotlight it continues to receive, I guess sadly it's not much different to any other mainstream release nowadays. it's such a shame the Gaming Industry is so fuelled by negativity. Of course, you're allowed to dislike the game, but some of the 0-rated scores are objectively ridiculous, and reeks of entitlement. Please, if you haven't done so already, give this a try, especially if you were like me and felt overwhelmed to dive into the AC franchise.

I definitely loved the Order of the Ancients hunting, the combat, and the abilities, as well as the Norse Mythology sections (Asgard and Jotenhiem), but the main story was dull and way too long.

Overall story (spoiler-free): Eivor is a viking that gets sick of his/her homeland and runs off to England to set up a new home with his/her brother. England being separated into four kingdoms at the time has a bit of a mixed reaction to the new arrivals, but each kingdom has problems to solve, so he/she gets down to business of being helpful/murdering people.

Hardly any memorable side characters by the end, but I really really hope they get rid of Layla Hassaan. I didn't ever like the modern day sections in any AC game, even when it was Desmond Miles as the protagonist. I don't want to hear Shaun and Rebecca's eye-rolling banter or the extremely wooden acting of the lady that voices Layla.

I did like Eivor himself (as I played it), the Norse accent was spot on to my ear and his interactions made him seem very human and compassionate toward people in need, while also being a monster on the battlefield.

Clearly the lady Eivor is the preffered character for at least part of the story, as one whole chapter is dedicated to a very forced romance with a male character from Eivor's past. I have no problem at all with any gender relationship combination, but I've never seen a romance so forced into a story. They don't give you the option to shut it down until you've already been forced to flirt for a few hours. Romance in video games is already really weird and sketchy, you do not have to have romance in an AC story at all and it would be better for it.

The abilities were done really well, in that you have to find books in the game world to unlock them. So you really have incentive to search for more than just crafting materials. Particularly memorable abilities like throwing a rope spear to pull someone to you (Scorpion-style!) or summoning a wolf never got old through over a hundred hours. On top of a polished version of the combat that has been continually improved in the more recent AC games, I was often switching weapon combinations and builds to see which was the most fun, and they all held my interest for long periods of gameplay. The dual-wielding is an excellent addition as well.

The armor system is also quite improved from previous games by giving you less overwhelming options and making armor and weapons feel unique and worth upgrading. I wouldn't change a thing there, although my favorite armor (Berserker) was a microtransaction, so you can't win em' all.

There were a few glitches, which may be patched out over time. Quite a bit of awkward incorrect pronouns as male Eivor and the classic AC jumping in to thin air when you clearly didn't want to. Also had a glitch with Eivor staying in 'drunk mode' every time I loaded a save and the music getting stuck on the dramatic battle soundtrack. I did also lose a little progress due to a door not having an interaction icon when it should have.

I will be playing the DLC (Ireland and the Druids sounds too cool to miss) but I think the thing that would have made the game way better would be to cut the story down a bit. There is a lot of fluff that gets very boring and it outshines the climactic and exciting moments.

One of the best AC opus still.

1st review : Well .. very nice opus , beautiful graphics, deep characters, story, neat twists. Why isn't it a 9 ? Because of the ubisoft day one syndrom of course, bugs (main and side quests, sucesses and not the small ones). At the time it's nearly impossible to get all the successes. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Before I dive in I'll give you a bit of background. I purchased the game on launch day to play on my Xbox Series X. I finished the story last week, It took me 64 hours to complete and I have recently become a father therefore my gaming time has taken a hit

    ****May Contain Spoilers****

The game itself is absolutely beautiful, the world is set in England during the viking dark ages. The story follows Eivor a male or female norse viking who follows his/her brother Sigurd to start a new settlement. The game story has many tangents and to progress in the story you will need to do story quests which involve making alliances with the various counties in England. You also find your usual order of the ancients too so there is some familiarity there.
From the misty bogs, to the freezing north, to the beautiful green forests - England is beautiful on this game.

I did not come across many bugs like others have been reporting. I found the gameplay quite easy to get used to - if you've played AC Origins or Odyssey then this will be familiar to you. I struggled with my axe at first however I changed to have two axes then I never looked back.

Playing the game was enjoyable however the big part for me is the story which lets it down. About half way through the game something will happen to your brother and you will need to try and save his life. This particular part of the story had me hooked to playing on and on to see how the story plays out. After this part of the story the game goes into a lull where nothing really happens, I continued to do the quests aiming to make allegiances with the remaining 5 counties which is another 8+ hours of gameplay.

The story ties up right at the end when you get to the final county - Another segment of the story is introduced and ties up the remaining questions you have.
My huge problem with this is that because of the 8+ hour lull in the story I've lost momentum and found myself losing interest in any dialogue.
The climax of the story takes place and a couple of people you've met during your time in England die however I met these characters after playing the game for 12 hours so 40+ hours later I'm not really caring about these characters because I could barely remember who they were!

If you are a big AC fan and you have got the time to dedicate to this game then I think you could potentially have a better experience than me. Maybe I struggled following the story and having that bond with the characters because its taken me so long to play due to my new circumstances?

I thought I'd share my thoughts anyway.
AC Odyssey and Black Flag remain as my favourite AC games - Partly because I find Ancient Greece and the Pirate world fascinating.

Until Resident Evil Village comes out, it's literally only 2020 game that is still worth playing. Doom Eternal got old very fast and i'm not gonna play Tony Hawk 1+2 Remake 24/7. Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the biggest fails of all time. Resident Evil 3 Remake was too short and boring. Last of Us 2 is one of the worst games ever made. Watch Dogs Legion is pathetic. Final Fantasy VII Remake has no reason to play again, even tho good game. Ghost of Tsushima has one of the worst camera angles in any video game ever, so i just can't play it, but it doesn't seem very interesting anyway. Marvel's Avengers is a joke. Mafia 1 Remake had good story, but has one of the emptiest open-worlds ever, there's absolutely nothing to do or explore.

So what's left? Literally only one game - Assassin's Creed Valhalla! It's not best game ever / not best AC game, but at least it's fun enough and DLC's almost look more interesting than main game, so i'm hyped. There's obviously always option to play older games (i do that literally all the time), but this review is for people who want something new.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It’s obvious that an enormous amount of work has gone into making this game. The graphics and sound are absolutely stunning and the developers have obviously put a lot of thought into the characters, plot and activities in an effort to keep the player engaged. The only thing I would say is that the game is too long. I have been played for about 100 hours. I don’t think I’m anywhere near completing the overarching quest and now I’m a bit bored. The only other negative is that the some of the side activities are rather “silly” and or immature. For example, the owner of a fox who thinks it’s a dog. Expand

I liked the story here, but I didn't like the way it was structured into a bunch of small story arcs because it meant that there were very few characters that had a relationship with Eivor throughout. Most of the other main characters were basically checked out after the prologue with only very minor check ins until the story wrapped up. For that reason, the whole thing didn't feel as cohesive as Odyssey. One other thing that drove me crazy is that they didn't adopt the really cool feature from Odyssey that decoupled the way your armor looks from its stats. I also did not like the armor/weapon progression too much... I literally used the same set for nearly the entire game because I preferred those perks. It meant I never really felt prompted to try out other weapons like I did in Odyssey. Voice acting was great. The funny side quests were great though I stopped doing them around hour 50 because I just wanted to get the game over with by that point. It took me another 25 hours, which I felt was too long since I wasn't really enjoying the way the story was built any more. I'm saying a lot of negative things here, but my score really is an 8/10. Comparing this game to the wide array of games out there, it really was quite good. I'm not much a fan of indies. Gimme that AAA big budget effort. Expand

There's absolutely no question that i'm bigger AC fan that he could ever dream to be. Calling Valhalla garbage is biggest joke in years. Valhalla is easily better than both Origins and specially Odyssey. Valhalla is first AC game in long time where it has been really interesting to finally explore the open world. You mentioned how interesting pyramids were in Origins, well of course. But here the thing, they were one of the few interesting things about Origins. Most of it was boring empty desert. I don't hate Origins, but it wasn't as interesting as Valhalla. Valhalla has way better story, better character and better open world. You said that England doesn't have landmarks or places to explore. Kidding me? London? Stonehenge? Huge castles? Mountains in Norway? There's so much to explore. Valhalla is easily one of the better designed maps Ubisoft has ever done, just behind Black Flag. There you go. You said that you laugh at people who think Origins is meh, well i laugh at you saying that Valhalla is garbage. There's clearly, very clearly more people who like Valhalla than Origins. Valhalla was biggest PC launch for Ubisoft EVER. It had over 2 million players in launch month alone. Jor Raptor gets 100 000s views on almost every Valhalla video he makes. People very clearly like this game and many have said that they absolutely love Valhalla map designs. Showing your "poll" as some evidence is BS, because most people answered that they haven't even played this game, but you said that people agree with you. Hell no. Thankfully you don't get that many views, so i don't really care that much, but this one video made me write this, because it was just too much nonsense. If you can have your BS opinion, then i have every right to have my opinion about your video and point out false things. I have been Assassin's Creed supporter and fan over 10 years and i very likely like games that you don't even like, because you seem like somebody who hops on hype trains. You know very well that people who whine about new games are just nostalgia nerds who hate every game after AC 3. I have always liked Unity and even Syndicate and i strongly doubt you like them. After reading that,, I grew concerned because both Odyssey and Origins were grindy making combat challenging by giving miniscule XP and forcing the player to buy a XP booster. My concerns were mostly alleviated when the territories of England were all a reasonable level. For the most part, two territories would be of the same power level, allowing the player to raise his/her power level with more ease then past games. I believe Valhalla's grindiness was more in line with that of Origins. Origins does not have an XP booster. For the most part,,, as long as you complete all the side missions in Origins you will be fine level wise. Similarly in Valhalla, since there is a lot to do in the main quest you level up quickly, however the XP booster does help. Odyssey on the other hand, had a really bad grind, enemies who were a few levels higher than you would resist attacks. Odyssey requires an XP booster to be fun. The story was mediocre, I thought it was ridiculous how many of the main characters flirt with Evior. It got to the point of immersion breaking sometimes. However, like Alex from the Angry Joe Show said Valhalla is being compared to games like God of War and Ghost of tsushima. God of War did Norse mythology well and Ghost of tsushima was a better Assassins creed. Recently,, I finished Assassins Creed Valhalla and clocked around 53 hours in the game. Another gripe I have is the anticlimactic ending and the lack of end game content and side content. Mysteries,, collectibles and wealth do not really appeal to me, I wanted more story side content. I did not even find all the orders of ancients members because it was too tedious of a task to find all the evidence to uncover their identity. However, I am waiting for a new game plus mode to replay it. I give Assassin creed Valhalla a 6/10. It is a reskin of Origins and Odyssey,, however they changed the progression system for the better, the story was mediocre and the lack of endgame content and side missions cause me to deduct a few points. The modeling and animation of characters, trees, buildings, boats, animals, day-night cycle - all done beautifully, and an evolution from Odyssey. Not quite RDR2, but not bad, still. The bad - in line with "new gen" AC games (Origins and Odyssey), this is quite repetitive. The same formula of "conquer region by helping a dude or two, playing out a small quest line" is repeated many times, without much change until the end. Have to give them credit, they made an effort to introduce some modicum of intrigue into these quests and they feel a bit fresher. Present day quest line feels even more confusing and abandoned this time around.
The grind of "travel the map from one shiny dot to another solving a small puzzle, collecting treasure" is there. Showing it all to you on a map, and showing "% completed" counters kill all thr intrigue from discovering world's hidden secrets and turn treasure hunting into a chore. They also tried to introduce variety by throwing in little quests as those shiny dots, but those are plain ridiculous, showing the biggest weakness of the game, which brings me to... The ugly - game's writing is as atrocious as Odyssey, and that one was quite a step down from Origins. It seems that dialogues are written by cranky 8th graders. The characters are plain as a sheet of drywall, the dialogues are bland and unimaginative, and sometimes just don't make sense and every quest is just a collection of plot devices. One example - in a major city you meet two characters who are in charge of local law enforcement, ostensibly having grown up in this city. The three of you discover a murder and the characters immediately tell you that you are the only person they coild trust, sending you off on a delicate mission to find the culprits. Of course, they believe your first word when you come back having discovered the culprits. And the "mini-quests" are even worse. One of them has you meet a viking who had lost everything, but does not feel sad. You get to choose one dialogue line that teaches him how to cry. All "quest" lasts about 15 seconds. There are bright spots, but mostly it's a dungheap. Every Ubisoft wroter needs to be sent into a re-education camp for a year where they would spend time playing Witcher 3 and RDR2. And on top of that we have, of course, the bowing to all the multiple oppressed factions that we have in 2020. The world of vikings conquering medieval England is apparently full of female leaders. Homosexual relationship are as prevalent as heterosexual, and butch lesbian women are often leading the charge. Nothing wrong with that if it were England of 2020, but I remember the Assassin's Creed which tried to recreate a historical period and teach you something about the epoch. Today, in attempt to not hurt anyone's feelings, all is lost. Even historical buildings and locations replaced with generic towns witb vaguely familiar names.

The game is still fun, combat is cool, blood flows (so far), but it feels like the series took one step closer to a casual MMORPG.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So let me say first I’ve played most of the assassins creed titles. Odyssey is my favorite. So first I’d like to say what the game did well here with Valhalla. Graphics are great but game was buggy. It did a good job making you actually like Layla. Which was a huge issue I had with Odyssey. It did a good job tying the previous games together. Now to discuss what I did not like. I honestly think the characters aren’t that pretty as vain as that is. I also found the combat boring and clunky. A sharp contrast to Odyssey which I throughly enjoyed the combat for. I didn’t like the idea of giving blind devotion to a brother who is truly a rival. You don’t feel like a hero in the game. Again a sharp contrast to Odyssey. The feeling of the game is bleak sad and full of confusion. Even the Terrain in comparison to Odyssey is like eh just not that pretty. I wanted to see Eivor the hero saving the day. The game focuses too much on giving you a morally gray dilemma. Here are two bad choices...now choose lol. Finally...the end...I gotta be Loki really? Dude turned out he was out to kill me the entire game and now I gotta play as this dude? Yea I just didn’t like a lot of story choices here. Sadly I bought all the dlcs and I’m praying they redeem this game cause it was a bit of a disappointment for me. Expand

It is highly satisfying completing a story arc or traversing the world and finding things that you felt that other players might not have stumbled across due to the nature of the open world and its use of way finders. The lack of load times on Xbox Series S is truly impressive given the nature of environments, landscape, and elements that are present on screen. There were a few issues from characters floating in mid-air, bizarre enemy AI, and straight up freezes, although these were far and few between given the scope of it all. Intuitive and varied combat help keep things fresh, even if it does take a fair few hours of gameplay to really get going. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a thoroughly enjoyable, open-world RPG that is an absolute must for Xbox owners.
